Holy cripey...that is pretty hardcore.  I'm afraid I am probably only going to be able to use a 1TB external hard drive hooked up to my desktop.  It seems I am pretty outmatched...which is kind of fine.  I would like some more Storj but I am also more than satisfied with being apart of the tech...

On a side note, it is fun to read those kinds of posts...

Storj is still going up, 2 days ago the total sell orders are 1.22 million SJCX, now is only 1.06 million SJCX. Most of 160k SJCX were active bought, it shows the strong buy will in the market. Yesterday big buy orders were filled, whales are full now, huge pump will happen in early 2015

I have a feeling that a lot of speculators will be let down after hoarding lots of Storj. After Test Group C, people who held Storj will be ready to take some profits and flood the market with cheap coins. This will actually benefit the second wave of early adopters as cheap coins roll in to write out early contracts for real users. But - I wouldn't gamble on the rate of SJCX climbing much higher until the product has been trialed by fire.

NXT IPO price is less than 10 sat, but it hit 15k sat, now is still 5k sat.

In 2009, BTC initial price is less than 0.01 USD, but now is 300 USD, highest 1200 USD.

Investing in crypto coins is interesting, if you dare not to buy and afraid cheap ICO/IPO price, you won't get the profits, you will look at them to da mars and regret.

How to setup hdd farming vith multiple hdds?
Should hdd be in raid mode, or single hdds?
If raid, would a server with storage arrays of hdds be the best way to go?
Interested in seting up rigs with as many hdds as possible.

raid drives aren't necessary for Storj as multiple copies of file chunks are stored (redundant).  bandwidth is your limiting factor, not read/write speed.

Yes, I think if you invest in any coin for long term. You can easily get benefit out of it. There is no point in playing day trading games because real project takes time. Storj has huge potential and it offers something that is widely used worldwide.

I think security and cost are the key factors for small companies or startup to consider Storj a better alternative than anything else on the market right now.  So Storj should pay more attention to target this market.

For general users, free space on dropbox, google drive, one drive and etc. are probably more than enough.  For big companies, they generally use their own SAN or etc, and big corporate are slower to change their plan or adopt this new technology, even it is much better technology.

It's a security concern I believe. I used to work in a company and used SAN but I also used websites that offered cloud storage so my data would be saved in more places.

I hope you realize that if the Bitcoin price goes up then sjcx/btc goes down, since worlds' storage market is being valued by the dollar.. so it's basically speculations right now..

 I think the price drop for btc is temporary due to holiday spending, watch when the income tax money starts to roll in, it will be a buying frenzy, which will take SJCX price to mars... don't worry just buy... #Storj a coin with a purpose... not 2 many are doing what there doing lets see how many follow suit...

Storj can be an excellent example when explaining blockchain technology's value to people who are not into crypto currency yet.  Because it can be compared with dropbox and etc. which many people are using now.  It would be easier for them to understand and realized the power of blockchain technology.

I think that's one of the issues that I see. Fundamentally, it's a great use for crypto and good use for a blockchain too. That being said, it's based on a commodity that's not rare, so I don't think anyone will be able to retire on SJCX. I was in the crowdsale, but not at the 10k mark... I'm still on the fence as to whether I want to join in or not. Maybe when Round B kicks in.

No, you can't mine it. It is a Counterparty asset, and all SJCX have been generated and locked already. Some of the SJCX have been distributed in the crowdsale, you can buy them on exchanges (poloniex for example), and when the project launches, those who share their spare storage ("farmers") will be rewarded with SJCX. And if you need some storage in the cloud, you'll have to get some SJCX to pay for it.
