I have more than 7000 offers but people only stored 40GB on my drive after 4 days of connection with 180 peers, I have a port with 1gbps but the

Client seems to work so slow. what happens if I shut down my system with that 40GB stored on my drive and never come back online? if the data is

Not lost and anyone stored some data with me will have their data safe on other drives seems like there are a lot of space being wasted just like the

Way Bitcoin mining works, miners compete for a block but only one miner gets the block. now for me it's a small space but what happens when this

System grows big, talking about 1 million TB, with that kind of storage space can we really store 6 million TB as data shards to make sure all the data

Is accessible without any down time?

If your node goes down the data will get replicated on other nodes. There isn't only once copy of the data there are multiple.
So doesn't matter if your node goes down someone else will have the pieces you store on other nodes.

Im not sure how it works in the code but would it be a good suggestion to add an option to the wallet like "shutdown" or "remove" in that you select this before permanently shutting down a node. This could flag the data on the network and allow it to be replicated on other nodes before its lost on your node.

Well it seems it doesn't matter whether we flag the data or let the network know that we're about to shut down/go offline because replication of data

Is designed into the Storj code, rather inefficient if you look at it, I don't know if it was Storj or Sia but anything more than double is inefficient and by

Double I mean one for the main storage and the second one as a backup, centralized storage providers only replicate the data once not 5 times as it is

With the decentralized storage providers. what if there is one Exabyte of data = 1 million Terabyte, the code is designed to store 6 Exabyte instead of

2 if that's the case then centralized storage is 3 times more efficient than what we call distributed cloud. unless Storj tries to store only one copy of the

Data as backup and implements a collateral system like Sia.

Im not sure thats accurate. Id assume most (if not all) centralized cloud storage providers have some sort of RAID on all their servers so its replicated there. Id also assume they have data replicated between two physical servers at least (possibly in different data centers) at minimum plus a backup on tape or similar.

why is this project just getting to yobit

it has nothing to do with Storj, its Yobit that just added Storj. On what exchanges a token is doesn't translate 1:1 what is going on with the project.

How can a project like STORJ grow if it still trades under a discontinued blockchain (SCJX)
It should be first priority to eliminate the old blockchain
No excuses please

It has nothing to do with excuses, its technically no possible to just take everyone's SJCX tokens and convert them to the new token, unless you have a nice quantum computer to brute-force everyone's private key. That is for people that have SJCX on their wallets. Secondly, nor Storj or any commercial entity has the right or ability to force a exchange to change their policy or behavior. So if you want the SJCX token to not be traded anymore, ask poloniex and any other exchange still trading it. Storj Labs has been in contact with poloniex to handle the transition, this process is still ongoing.

All farmers: Please make sure you are NOT using a Bittrex ETH deposit address as farmer payout address.

Important announcement for all Storj Share Farmers: It has been brought to our attention that there are thousands of payout addresses that are in fact Bittrex ETH deposit addresses. Bittrex has to manually move the STORJ tokens for these thousands of addresses to the corresponding correct STORJ deposit address of each of these accounts. I urge those of you that have mistakenly specified an ETH deposit address from Bittrex to immediately correct this by switching to a proper STORJ address, which should be an address from a wallet that is compatible with ERC20 tokens such as myetherwallet, mist or parity. Please abstain from using incorrectly specified exchange deposit addresses. If you continue to do so, Bittrex staff will most likely stop being so nice and moving the funds for you every month to the correct STORJ address on their exchange, and you may end up losing your payouts entirely, or at the very least, have to file support tickets with Bittrex every month and ask them nicely to please move the STORJ tokens to the right STORJ wallet, and they may decide to make you wait a long time until they get around to doing this, or not do it at all. It is costing them eth transaction fees to make these thousands of TXs every month to do those of you a big favor that did not follow instructions. Please do the right thing now before the next payout and correct your payout addresses.
