Is the monero GUI wallet compatible with the latest command line wallet?

Scaling and transaction rate: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=532.msg6306#msg6306
Do not allow demand to exceed capacity. Do not allow mempools to forget transactions. Relay all transactions. Eventually confirm all transactions.

i have this problem for a long time now , i have my  Private Login Key (mnemonic) from years ago when mining monero easy , BUT.. 1 mnemonic word is missing

keep saying : You seem to be missing the last word in your private key, please try again

so i have 24 words ( need 25 )

but is it absolute the last word

or could it also be an other place for the missing mnemonic word?

Are you using MyMonero to import your seed? If not, which wallet are you using?
Yes i am using mymonero , i am using the old words

But it recognized the mnomic seed , it says that i forgot the last one

MyMonero doesn't support 24 word seeds. It should work with the GUI or the CLI. For convenience, I'd advise to use the GUI. Link:

https://getmonero.org/2016/12/22/monero-core-gui-beta-released.html

Just click on the restore from 25 word mnemonic seed option in the wizard and the process should be fairly straight forward. If you get stuck somewhere, don't hesitate to ask questions!

Is https://mymonero.com/ legit? Thanks in advance.
Yup, it's run by one of the  Monero developers. I also heard (but can't verify) that only you can access your funds when you use them.

Fluffypony runs the site - he's one of the leading XMR devs. Sure, many thousands of dollars have been stolen using MITM attacks due to crappy vpns and poor openssl updates... A user here named Birr lost a LOT of money there, so be wary, i'm quite sure he will chime in.

Edit - Shameless plug for physical original Monero coins here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1828463.msg18204098#msg18204098

Thanks! Cheesy

A bit over 7k xmr, worth about ninety three thousand dollars at the time of theft.
Your humble correspondent is bloodied but unbowed, as the expression goes.
Been using command line daemon and wallet on linux ever since.
At least one other person lost a significant amount, but I don't remember how much.
Fluffy would have done well to require 2FA on that site, instead he had a laser focus on being user friendly to promote monero use and make it easy for newbs to get in... well, newbs make mistakes.  Mistakes like using Fluffy's web wallet.

Birr how did it happen? Were you using tor or vpn at that moment?

Since January Monero already has a working GUI wallet and its second beta is coming soon too. I hope that someone will finally put the GUI on the current monero site getmonero.org, or at least on the upcoming new disign site. It's confusing otherwise.

The upcoming beta release (beta 2) will be listed on the downloads page and the "choose wallet page" as far as I know.

OK, here's a noobish question: how do you create a wallet programmatically ?
I don't see a RPC call for this.

I don't see a RPC call for this.

You just launch the wallet with a wallet name that doesn't exist. There's not a great way to do it programmatically, afaik, at least not by RPC, but it can be done by launching the program and using stdout/stderr to watch the output and stdin to input password, seed language, etc. I guess the GUI wallet library/interface probably has a better way to do it, but I don't think it's done by RPC.

You can ignore this error. The daemon should sync even with it throwing these errors. See:

He used MyMonero.com, tough lesson learned. Sad

It should, but it did not for some folks, me included.

When using https://xmr.llcoins.net/ to convert 13 word seed to keys everything is works just fine. The keys are created. But there appears triangular red
line below the seeds word podcast.

Try that word "podcast" on the line.

I checked here
https://github.com/monero-project/monero/blob/master/src/mnemonics/english.h
the word "podcast" exists.

Also, how https://xmr.llcoins.net/ can create the keys if I delete for example last letter of some word? For example the word "dagger" to "dagge".

Monero will paint dash chart, mark my words. Cant miss out on a pump when I see it coming a mile away. Setting up a target slightly below 0.16 BTC and taking all my monero off the exchange. Will grab another pile when the new uptrend is confirmed, gotta say that the whole image of monero has improved greatly since the last time I was in.

1. The triangular red line below the word is just your browser doing spellcheck on the form input.  You can disregard that.

2. You only need the first 3 (4?) letters of each word to sufficiently restore a wallet.

Forgive my ignorance, what do you mean paint the chart? - Do you mean XMR will destroy Dash in price eventually?

Are you thinking XMR will hit 0.16??

At least one other person lost a significant amount, but I don't remember how much.
Fluffy would have done well to require 2FA on that site, instead he had a laser focus on being user friendly to promote monero use and make it easy for newbs to get in... well, newbs make mistakes.  Mistakes like using Fluffy's web wallet.

In fairness to FluffyPonzi, he has always been explicit and emphatic in his warnings that his webwallet is only for convenient holding of pocket change and "significant" amounts should not be trusted to the service.

In hindsight, perhaps he should have forced users to click though some "I pinky swear not to put a ton of coins in my webwallet because I understand they may be stolen via MITM or unknown Vault7/EquationGroup/FancyBear/GoldenShield attacks" agreement.

In all fairness I never heard any such thing until 2 people got raped. But it should be common knowledge not to use a web wallet for significant amounts.

When are they going to have new design on their site? Their site looks quite old and console wallet scares people, so Monero indeed can rise when they finally get two these things done.

If you didn't hear the copious warnings, that's not Fluffy's fault.  I'm not the only one who remembers his common sense 'it's a wallet for spending money not a vault for your life savings' messages.

fluffypony (site owner) always says you should not store significant amounts of XMR there

I've stated publicly (on Reddit, Bitcointalk, in talks at conferences, on podcasts) that it should be treated like an actual wallet and not used for storage.
