CORRECT, just wanted to know what you guys think of it  Wink

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Now it is especially interesting to observe the prices on the cryptocurrency market. All the coins again fall much. And Xmr and Dash are almost in one place and the price does not fall.

And strangely, ethereum is even below monero and dash, it seems the bitcoin effect is more devastating to the price of a few coins or with so much supply.
I think normal and popular projects will soon come off the price of Ethereum . The market values better those coins which are necessary in our everyday life .

Network
 Hash Rate: 609.21 MH/sec

Why?!

Price $104, ratio Price/HashRate = 1/6, few days ago it was 1/5, few weeks ago it was 1/4, in December-January 2018 it was 1/2.

You can't GPU mine zcash anymore. ETH can be GPU mined although there are ASICs, but it's price is falling through the fucking floor. Most other "GPU" focused alts are getting rekt worse than Romero, a la VTC. What else are you gonna mine?

still holding some monero in an ols passphrase (one word missing )  but i am sure there comes a time that it will be worth seeking for the last word to get access to my monero wallet , i have the time
Were you already looking for it in December 2017, January 2018? But now you lost most of the motivation? (almost started looking these days) Smiley
yep , you got me , in the meantime i already found some options for it but with that i also realized myself that it would cost months/years to solve this and all i said was that i believe that there will be a time that it will be worth the time
Cheesy hehe
If you know exact position of word in your passphrase and if this (https://github.com/monero-project/monero/blob/master/src/mnemonics/english.h) still applies then you "only" need about 1625 tries. Smiley You can try once every day and I believe once you will find the right one it will already be worth it. Wink

tanx mate i already found some info that this was somewhere to find and i was going to try them one by one , but you give me the lost motivation and i am trying them now , i'll let you know when and if i succeed
I don't know exactly how do you enter words for recovering but I am sure you can automatize the process at least to some extent. So you won't have to type every word and it you will go through faster.
Anyway glad I helped and good luck with "treasure" hunting. Smiley

Does this even matter? And if yes, how, why?

Monero's utility is pretty big compared to other coins. About ETH - most ICO's were raising funds in ETH you can only imagine how many companies have to sell it right now for expenses or other needs + some FUD. People are holding some tokens and companies are selling ETH they earned during ICO. I think this is the main reason for it's big(gest) fall.

Hello everyone...  I have been hearing a little about 0.13 fork...  Is there anywhere I can read more up on the fork, like at which block, will it include an algo tweak to keep ASICs away (re: v8),etc

http://xmr.noctism.com/

about the estimated fork time.

Thats what I thought so I did some searching to see if he was just spamming all announce threads or something and came up with zero hits. Looks like this is the only thread he did that too. So he doesn't get reported for spamming. Weird. I would have bet it was just a spamfest post with a quote of ANN thread Ops.

GREAT amount of translation job! Russian language is quite important. I've read somewhere, Russia is a top 2 country (after USA) sorted by amount of cryptocurrency trading volume counted in USD.

Will monero run ip6 and have decentralized routing at all? That and tor configured correctly, to me is the only true way to have anonymity over the net. Am open to being convinced otherwise.

Whats Ip6? It already works under IPv6 if thats what you meant and it works under tor and the I2P version is being rewritten in C++ and is named Korvi and is under development.

https://getkovri.org/
https://github.com/monero-project/kovri

The drama that created Korvi implementation of the I2pd(C++) fork from I2P(java):

What do you guys think about this enourmous total hash of Monero network?
It's up to 600Mh/s for days... Mining profits decreased 50% in one month.
Is it just the Ethereum crisis or another virus or asics…?

I actually think that this is related to the decrease of the ETH
block reward. There aren´t that many options for miners, if they want to
mine a coin that actually has liquidity on the exchanges.

Besides, they probably appreciate the fact that Monero is actively
combating the use of ASICs.

Guys, I need help. Tell me, where is the best place to keep coins?
I put a normal wallet, but it took a lot of local hard drive space. Now I think maybe there's a better way?
