you can work in real life and use the money you earned to buy BTC as the price of bitcoin will surely increase there's nothing to worry about at all For now it is good because the price is as we want increasing but when the price decreases then it's not good, but at the end its like investing in bitcoin for a better profit, for now i think 200btc maybe will help retiring. yeah because you just buy some with bitcoin so yeah you still have some savings in fiat

This is entirely dependent on what BTC prices look like in 20 years. BTC could be worth a fortune or nothing... All depending on what sort off issues BTC faces in the future and what new technology emerges in the next few years. My prediction is that BTC will be replaced by something faster and more secure and user friendly which will help in mass adoption. I guess we will see what the future holds. It's encredibly hard to call due to the fact our technology is evolving rapidly and not converged on moore's law yet.

It depends on where you live and how much bitcoin will be worth for yo in 20 years. Some bitcoin owners are able to pay their monthly bills with only collecting satoshi.

For an first world country you would need more offcourse. For me i think getting 100 bitcoin would safeguard a very wealthy pension. Offcourse i save money on my pension on other plans too. Never bet on 1 horse

Never bet on 1 horse Yeah that might be true that 100 bitcoin is safe to have in 20 years. Just don't forget that bitcoin can go low also so always have a back up plan just don't do all your money in to bitcoin. But good plan is really nice I hope in the future bitcoin will increase.

Isn't this thread more of a roundabout way to guess future values? Anyway I would balance what was attainable now with future gains. I would go for 75-100 coins. That might be incredible overkill but that not gonna hurt, right?

You need zero bitcoins to retire in 20 years. You also need zero bitcoins to retire now.
Simply say to yourself, "I have nothing to do, nothing interests me" and lie down and do nothing. Congratulations on your retirement.

What the hell is this. This makes absolutely no sense. He wants to retire with some money, you know that right?

What the hell is this. This makes absolutely no sense. He wants to retire with some money, you know that right? No I don't know that. So you're saying the question is "how much money do I need to have some money?" ? The question is broken any way you look at it. Just retire if that's what you want to do. If you have something else you want to do that requires some assets, then figure out how to get them and do it.

I'd actually be interested to see a graph of where we would be in ten years going by current rates, everyone usually throws these things about. Anyone have one?

According to Satoshi's prediction Bitcoin price will reach upto 10000$ which can equal the 1 BTC. I think after 20 years Bitcoin may reach that. then savings upto him and his personal needs. But I feel this Unwanted question in this time and He can post after 20 years...LOL

Anyone have one? in 10 years we may have stable price around 1000$ +/- maybe 100$ range it only speculation by me also price may be higher or lower and we can't predict economy in 10 and less in 20 we speculate on btc halving

Maybe in 20 years the price of a bitcoin will be $10000 so you need a couple of coins to have a comfortable living.
