you would need a really huge amount of bitcoins in order to do that you would need something like 400
I think produces 400 bitcoin within 20 years is quite difficult. If you do not have a good way to generate bitcoin, it will be very difficult

if you have atleast 100 BTC right now, then after 20 years you will have a good life, but the price that time should not be lower than $1000 but if the price falls, then its a different story...  Cheesy

Exactly, totally depends on the price of bitcoins after 20 years, we don't know where it will stand in future, even 10 btc can take care of you or 100 btc will not be enough to have a good retirement life. And also depends on in which country you live.

100 btc is a very large amount, even with todays price. if the price reaches at least $1000 then these coins will be worth a good $100,000. take in consideration that a lot people here are also working. they are building up retirement money also there. the bitcoin money will be a good bonus.

How possibly could you see how much btcs value in the next 20 years. After humans can never have enough, you may need to have 10K BTC. if you intend to live comfortable on an island of your own and a helipad on the rooftop while your yatch just stay on your front warf.

Yes it can be a good bonus at the time of retirement, as you will also get benefits from your organisation when you retired, so income from bitcoins could be a added advantage to an individual which can give you the best life in future.

Depending on the price of BTC in 20 years and depending on your location in the world, If BTC is worth $1000 Then I think a decent amount for a first-world resident would be 1000 BTC, it won't be enough to buy a yacht but would allow reasonable living conditions "if USD hasn't deflated in value that much"

Bitcoin might have failed by then... or maybe the fiat economy will have and 1btc will be worth thousands  Grin. I think 100 bitcoins would be a nice amount to have and hold, though. I think bitcoin will hopefully go back to 1k again at some point and depending on where you live 100k could make your life very comfortable. I know I could survive off that for probably 50 years if you only have to pay rent and food etc. Pesonally I wouldnt set myself goals and just keep a nice amount in btc but one you could afford to lose as nothing is certain.

Why are people so stupid? you're saying if fiat fails, 1 btc will only be worth "thousands"?

come on, don't you people have brains?

I don't think bitcoins would last long and hence I won't be saving over 10 bTC as of now. If BTC does last for the next 20 years, $1000 would be too less per BTC as by then the prices would be higher and $1000 by then would be worth $100 today. It should be a 5 digit figure at least.

50 BTC would be enough to have a good amount for retirement. If bitcoins are worth over $5000 by then, the amount would be valued at $250000 and the interest is enough to live a peaceful life. Holding over 50 BTC would be a huge risk which isn't worth.

Bitcoins wouldn't fail in the next 20 years but it would be replaced by another virtual currency similar to other rewards given by banks and websites while shopping. If bitcoins still exist, 10 bTC also would be enough as an investment as now itself the price is about $400 and the price would most probably rise in future as there are very coins left to mine and in 1 year almost all coins would be mined making the price stable.

yesterday I bought another 5BTC that I put into my life savings: I don't know how this is going to be but who knows maybe one day my investment will pay off. To me, having financial freedom is a must today.

Yes a value of $1k in 20 years would mean Bitcoin hasn't made it to the top and therefore failed.
But I believe this amount of value is not very likely. Imo it will be worth either 5 digits to 6 digits, meaning being worth a lot, or absolutely nothing.

i don't think so. I thought the price of bitcoin will be worth more than $ 1000- $ 2000 percoin. we only need a few, if me might just need a 60 BTC enough. to save the 3 BTC annually
