There should be no limit as to how much budget would you need on your retirement, remember, when you are retiring, it means that those that you save in forms of investment, savings, and insurances would be your only source before we die, so it won't be good if we die poor..

true, no limit, but your life is limited  Cheesy .
if you can life simply, i think 50BItcoin is enough for retire in 20years. it all depends on how you can life in your retirement.

Yeah, depends on what life you are looking for after retirement, also depends on your country you are living in, I think to live good and lavish retirement life 100 btc would be more then enough.

If you live in a western country you need more retirement funds then if you live in asia or africa. My goal is set to have a 200k pension fund, which means the amount of bitcoins i need is significant. But i feel confident the price will catch up because of inflation and potential.

You will need a lot of funds, but its also the fact will the bitcoin even exist if you are gonna retire, I think it will take a lot time to get this amount.
Also the point is that you will need to invest a lot of money to gain a lot of bitcoins these days.
Maybe the halving will help you but not to such a high amount if you ask me, I think it will be a long journey for you to gain so much bitcoins to gain such a amount.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Atleast you need to hold 100 bitcoins to have a comfort life after 20 years of saving. This is just a prediction, everything depends on the price of bitcoin. Lets hope for a good price in the future so to have much better life.

If the bitcoin doubles every year in the next 20 years, the price will be 1 million times of the present value. You just need 0.01 coins.

exactly, it will totally depend on the price of bitcoin after 20 years, and we don't know whether bitcoin will survive that long or not, but lets hope for the best and hold as much coins as possible for the future.

To be on safer side I think 100 btc is a good amount to hold, but I don't think that it will hit millions in coming years, if it survives for next two decades then it can, but not before that.

That is true, atleast 100 bitcoin, as we never know what will the price be,  it might be higher, or might be very low, but of course, you should not depend on your bitcoin as your retirement fund, you still need to work out for your savings in fiat for your retirement, it would be safer if we have both fiat and bitcoin...

You will need a lot of course. You will never know what the value will be in the future. It can also be that the value will go down and that will be not good.
Bit it is better to see Bitcoin as bonus. That is the best option. And I hope that more people will just use it to earn some a little bit money.

It is a brainless and pointless thinking. One can not predict the price of bitcoin after 10 years. Considering the fact, that the supply of bitcoin is limited, you can only assume that the price will be way higher than today's price. But you certainly can't live you life with assumptions.

So apart from accumulating bitcoin, try to save as much as fiat money you can. If after 10 years, you can see that bitcoin price is at a very high level (you all hope so), it will add to your luxury or vice versa.

Do you believe that you would ever have too many bitcoins? It's never enough.

Yeah the more the better. But not everybody got an unlimited budget. So if i would have to go with a fixed amount of coin I would say around 50 would be
enough for me.
you say that 50 BTC is not enough for you. if after you get that much bitcoin are you going to stop?
I'm sure you'll keep wanting more and keep looking for bitcoin. until you are satisfied. uppss I forgot. humans do not have a sense of satisfaction

for retire 20years i think 100bitcoin is the minimum amount, you can use 5btc/year to cost of life. it's a small amount friend. i think 50bitcoin is not enough for 15years retire.

Your calculation is exactly right if the growth gets doubled. You need to have a realistic calculation. Just think of a dollar and its growth history. Now you'll understand how much will be the price of Bitcoin after 20years.

yes we should think of the smallest price. because after 20 years we do not know what will happen next.
but I think at least the price of bitcoin will not be back again under $10 or even under $100.
