So I switched from Hashra to Minera a few days ago, as I was tinkering with the versions of the miners installed. Today I wired up an 850W powersupply with some barrel plugs for my Gridseed Mini's, and rebuilt cgminer-dmaxl-zeus with the latest version for my Minis (also compiled for my Antminer U1, turned off Zeus).

Now have an SHA instance of CGminer running from the extra boot options menu in Minera (/etc/rc.local) and 3 mins later, Minera starts up another CGminer in Scrypt mode.

Only changed I need to make are to specify the ports for the SHA instance since it seems to sometimes not pick them all up, requiring me to "Stop Miner" in Minera, wait for them to all jump over to the SHA instance, then "Start Miner" in Minera to get them all into the Scrypt instance (If any Minis dont start in the SHA instance, the Scrypt instance will only pick them up, missing the ones in dual mode.)

Hi tHere,

any idea if there is a way to install Minera on OSX 10.9 server ?

Just tried to use the install script which brings just errors because osx is obviously not Debian like.

Cheers Gnartzz

Okay. I've tried (might I add unsuccessfully) to install Minera on my Pi. I have minera installed on the Pi, its all working then I plug my miners in (I have tried, having them start before the Pi, and plugged in, off + plugged in then powered on, Miners on and running then plugged in, etc) Imagine every way possible of connecting the miners to the Pi and nothing works! I constantly get this,

Endless loop. And minerd not running. I have 3 GAW Fury's hooked up and a Gridseed Blade. I really need these to work, as they are sitting here collecting dust.

Any/All Help is greatly appreciated!

Are you running manual or guided setup?  Post your settings.  I am running 5 GS minis and 1 fury using bfgminer and had to use manual to get the clocks correct. You may just need some additional arguments to get them running.

I was using auto settings. How would I actually do a manual set-up of the miners? And then could you post your set up/configurations?

Perfect do you also have Autorecover and superuser enabled on the miners? Still not working so I'm trying! heres my config:

Code:
-S zus:all --set zus:chips=6 --set zus:clock=328 -S gridseed:all --set-device gridseed:clock=1200

hi,
only a short question.

I have multiple zeus miners (blizz/hurricane/thunder) on usb-hub connected @raspberry with minera. working all fine, no problems here.

Question: How can I set clockrate/chipcounts for each miner?

I can set it via --zeus-clock 328 but this will work then on all, not what I want so far. --zeus-chips etc.

I saw something like --set zus@/dev/ttyUSB0:clock but this is not working.

I only have superuser enabled.  You may also run into problems with the --set-device gridseed:clock=1200 if you do not have voltmod minis.  Default for minis is 850 but mine were stable with acceptable HW errors to about 880.  You may want to run them with the CPUminer and use autotune for a few hours and see where they end up.  Personally I'd shoot a bit above what you know is stable and it will drop the freq till it finds an acceptable level.

Yes the last few posts show my settings running GS minis and 1 Fury.  There are others running blades in this thread as well.

@kevin1234a & @dockay

Bottom Line:  yes, you can have multiple devices running together on the Raspberry Pi, and you can set individual clocks.  Having said that, here is what I have found by MUCH trial and error.

I am just getting started with mining, so my answer may not be exactly on target.  However I am running 3 Gaw Fury (ies?) and a gridseed (small 5 chipper, 340KH/s) on an RPi  I am still tweaking the settings, but so far I this is my setup.

Running CGMiner (Dmax Zeus fork) and enabled super-user mode with the options
Code:
--scan-serial /dev/ttyACM0  --gridseed-options freq=830 --scrypt  --zeus-chips 6 --zeus-clock 346 --scan-serial zeus:auto

Supposedly, I should be able to set the individual Fury clocks with:
Code:
--scrypt --scan-serial zeus:auto  --zeus-options /dev/ttyUSB0,6,335;/dev/ttyUSB1,6,325;/dev/ttyUSB2,6,346

however, I am having some difficulty, as the first two devices fall back to 2MHz while the third device has the correct settings.  I have tried so many different variations on this from the command line

Code:
/usr/bin/screen -dmS cgminerdmaxlzeus /var/www/minera/minera-bin/cgminer-dmaxl-zeus --scrypt --scan-serial /dev/ttyACM0 --gridseed-options freq=787 --zeus-chips 6 --scan-serial zeus:auto -S zeus:/dev/ttyUSB0--zeus-clock 300 -S zeus:/dev/ttyUSB1 --zeus-clock 330 -S zeus:/dev/ttyUSB2 --zeus-clock 330  -c /var/www/minera/conf/miner_conf.json

and found that after doing this a few times and getting no response and finally realizing that one or more devices stopped showing in /dev and not knowing when exactly this became an issue, so reboot and start over.

Eventually, I went back to the first command and just let 'em bubble and churn - ya' can't make no money if ya' ain't workin! (OK, so I don't expect to really make any money here, but a man can dream, right?)

Good job Ax... How stable the whole thing is? How often do you have to restart / reboot?

I'm still trying to stabilize HASHRA in dual mode but so far no dice - loosing at least one mini in a few hours and often half of my minis overnight... Running 700MHz as you do, even tried 600MHz for a day with not much difference except fewer HW errors.

Would be great if you keep us posted here on your progress and improvements, if any.

Thanks,

In that setup it stays stable for 24hrs plus, however Hardware Errors on the SHA instance were very high, like 30% average across the Mini's (over 50% on the U1) lowered the clocks to 625mhz and its down to a bit under 20%.

At 700mhz the Scrypt instance occassionally gets some HW. even at 625 I have 1 mini that slowly gets errors, under Cpuminer autotune it clocks one of the 5 chips down to 625, the other 4 are around 850-900.

I havnt had it much past 24 hours, back on Cpuminer for a bit while i play with a few things. But i reckon it shouldnt take too much to modify Minera's dashboard to accomodate/show 2 miners graphs at the same time, have them on 2 seperate api ports so i can see all the stats in Awesome Miner. But the web/dashboard is well above my tinkering/skill level.

If my advice has helped you out, feel free to throw some Satoshi's my way!

To be quiet honest, I have not had much luck with BFGminer, either with minera or the command line.  It was a few days ago, and my notes are all a jumble right now, but I could never get the parameters quiet right.  I realize that CGminer and BFGminer are pretty much the same (one forked the other?).

Alright, I am going to give it another go.  I am now using the params
Code:
--scrypt  -S /dev/ttyACM0   --set-device /dev/ttyACM0:freq=950     -S /dev/ttyUSB0   --set-device /dev/ttyUSB0:freq=335     -S /dev/ttyUSB1   --set-device /dev/ttyUSB1:freq=325   -S /dev/ttyUSB2   --set-device /dev/ttyUSB2:freq=350

and now I'll sit back and watch it marinate for a while.  Maybe you have a suggestion to fine tune the params?

I certainly appreciate the assist.

Well, 24 hours stable is already a progress... If you can get trough one week or more without reboot it would be awesome.

So now I have it working with bfgminer with the above settings, but I find that the clock frequencies that I specify are not being used; freqs are set much lower.  I can ssh into the RPi and open the bfgminer output [ sudo screen -r ] and manually set the clock freqs, and everything works as it should.

Anyone have suggestions on what is wrong with my parameter line?  I certainly appreciate any input.

got it working with this:

--retries=1 -S zus:/dev/ttyUSB0 --set zus:chips=64 --set zus:clock=344 -S zus:/dev/ttyUSB1 --set zus:chips=6 --set zus:clock=344

you only need to know which USB is which miner. I just plugged in one after another, so its a bit of work but its working.

I'm using BFGMiner.

Is it possible to use this with Innosilicon A2 Terminators? If not, is it in the works? Looks great!
