I hate to troll your coin but I'm going to do it anyway.

First, what you have proposed for anonymity is no better than what XC or Dark have promised or implemented.

The good news is that its no worse either.

That's not saying much because the proposals of all three fail at true anonymity. The anonymity itself is spoiled by a centralized mixing layer, which is what all three depend on. Centralized mixers break the trustless paradigm and therefore are not, by definition, anonymous.

The only way to achieve true anonymous transactions is by using cryptography and currently the only working cryptographic implementation is cryptonote ring signatures.

How people can buy into the hype around these coins with centralized anonymity is completely beyond me.

This is not trolling, this is planting seeds, the innovation we need to talk about. The current proposed anon is our solution to make up for jumping the gun on the first one. This is by no means the end.

If I could quote one of the other devs on this, their reply to you would be "Correct. One step at a time."

Can't deny what you're saying at all. Technically what we're working on isn't a mixer, but that's not the point you're making. What we're working on is centralized, and therefore not trustless. I can't deny that in the slightest. Everyone looking at us, please take note at what he's saying here, because he's making an excellent point.

What we're trying to do is provide an anonymous option for people interested in everything that PinkCoin has to offer, and will have to offer as a whole, that will make it almost impossible to link the coins you send, to the coins that are received. Unfortunately, for a while, that will come at the cost of the trust in centralization.

Most of us involved in the project don't personally care about having our transactions being anonymous. But we do care about doing the best we can with it, because it's something our community wants, and something our community cares about.

If you do need something completely 100% trustless and anonymous, please, by all means, have a look at the great work being done in cryptonote based coins.

Thank you for your rational and honest criticism. Frankly, I don't consider it trolling at all.

That is the angle the original dev had taken. If you go to the old thread, you will see it is covered in provocative/sexy images, and targeted towards the adult scene. It did not go over well.

And as you can see from our last giveaway, that people make those same assumptions and connections.

The more people learn about the new plans, new community etc... The less you will see the provocative images.

No problem. I've been reading more and seems like a good coin.

This coins for charities?

Charity is a part of this coin, just as charity is a part of most coins now. Doge being the original with Olympic Fundraising.

Pinkcoin supports charity for the fairer sex.

So the more pink coin you have, the better.

When your meeting girls you can introduce them to your fondness for pink and see if it will get you some gratitude.

But its not a porn coin.

With us so far?

Cheesy

+1 Sending pink your way for this for sure!

Gratefully received dudes!

You know I have access to article spinners and submitters?

so if you want to fire an article or two over with a couple of URL's you want me to link to ...

Usually takes about 9 days to send to 150 sites.

G

This could be quite useful actually. What could you do with the coin analysis by @jyap?

EDIT: Maybe it is not such a good idea to spin such a valuable article. That would be pretty dirty.

We will think of something. Thanks Doc

This community doesn't really care about anonymity, look at the values of the cryptonote coins right now. What it cares about is the hype surrounding a new idea so that a coin will pump and they can dump on others for one goal - increase fiat. The altcoin scene in many ways shows the worst of humanity, whales and unethical developers doing everything in their power to snatch money from dump victims. The things I've seen would land many in jail in the real world, that is a fact.

True. Its all about marketing but a group of (small) investors is becoming wiser.
they want to tick boxes that gives them the feeling a coin is not going down the toilet soon.
anon is one tick in the box. Audited code a second. Proof of donations to the charity a third.
And with more tick in the boxes coming, it sure looks like a good coin to me!

It's the latest bandwagon for sure, emphasized by the fact that so few coins have manged to do it right. It's become something of a unicorn if you will, and almost a right of passage for those that dare to take it on. You're absolutely right about some of the shady things that go on. I've seen it too. There's a reason everyone wants trustless, and it's because in the altcoin community, you're best off not trusting anyone. Everyone's trying to make money. Even us.

All I can say is that for those of us involved in the development, this is a project that we've invested ourselves personally in. This is the platform we've set for ourselves to do something we love, do something good, and to make money doing it. I look at PinkCoin as my dream job right now. I can't tell you guys how lucky I feel that I've found such a great group of guys to work with. We've built trust among ourselves, and if one of us breaks that trust, the others will be just as devastated, if not more-so than you.

Moreover, one of our primary objectives is to reach outside the altcoin world, and make PinkCoin accessible and available to everyone. We need the support of the altcoin community right now to get PinkCoin off the ground, and so we're catering to what people here want. But ultimately, we care about the PinkCoin community as a whole, regardless of how they become a part of us.

The altcoin scene in many ways shows the worst of humanity, whales and unethical developers doing everything in their power to snatch money from dump victims. The things I've seen would land many in jail in the real world, that is a fact.

I agree that this is the case for 95% of the Altcoin scene. You are here yourself, I assume, because it is also your interest / hobby ?

You must then know yourself, that PinkCoin is a good coin, stands head and shoulders above the rest.

I don't put my name to a coin very often, and when I have done in the past with a certain un-named currency, I was burnt like all the rest.

Sure, a lot of coins are a Ponzi scheme, you will also get burnt on the exchanges with rinse and repeat if you are not careful.

You talk about Jail, I wonder if you realise that all big corporations are borderline legality, certain asic manufacturers for example with "no refund, pre-orders" or perhaps companies that have head offices off-shore to avoid paying tax.

The world isn't perfect, neither is PinkCoin, but striving for perfection with a team of developers who are active and actually 'give a shit' really makes sense to me.

The Pink team are certainly a cut above the avg scam developers. However, the front page is a bit misleading towards anonymity, they should say it is in development. Yes, I'm here out of interest and the desire to make money. I have been a dump victim several times, believing the hype surrounding a price increase was genuine.
There is good news/bad news about this scene being unregulated. The bad news is you really have to watch your back to avoid scams and dumps. The good news is it's possible to 100x your money in a week. It is a bit of a moral dilemma though, knowing you must dump on late buyers to do so. Normally I take profit long before the top to avoid both of these issues, and leave some in the coin for investment.
As far as Pink I'm holding about half a million bought at 26 sat, and will buy more when this anon website is working. I don't mind paying more later, I find that buying the coin and news not the price is always a better bet.
