I can not get the pinkcoin wallet to connect to the network. The debug log lists the nodes as last seen between 270 and 330 hrs ago. What .conf file do I need? Thanks.

do you add the peer node?

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

here's a response from sumgye who's afk currently

"throwing up two new nodes, one in chigago and one in los angeles - gonna take a little bit. In the meantime have anyone having connection issues put addnode=73.180.18.204 in their .conf files - it's just a temporary fix but it'll work. It's a link to me. Once the nodes are up to date on the blockchain I'll post them, compile them into the wallet"

Whilst I have to confess to loving the name of the 'Pink Entanglement Engine' and being impressed by the use of creative writing to describe it, one does have to ask, is there a technical whitepaper or, at the very least, a technical layout of what this anon system is?

For all the people talking about how they can't understand why the price is so stagnant, I'd like to point out, this was a rescued coin, it is tainted and, while the marketing and graphic-design boys should certainly be proud of the work they have done in making this coin's 'innovations' look stunning, the cryptocurrency scene is littered with coin projects that were all mouth and no trousers. The coin-tech has to survive scrutiny by it's peers and, only once they announce something along the lines of, "Holy shit! That's really clever", will you be able to demonstrate there is value here.

Linking it to a charity was nice, but anyone can do that, many coins already do, to no great avail. What the market is hungry for is technological innovation that sets a coin apart from the others. Personally I don't care about anon right now, although I might do in the future, I'd rather see an innovation that enhances the usability of a coin, something that changes the landscape of the crypto/fiat battleground.

A wallet that incorporates electronic fiat, one where deposits into it can be made by credit or debit card, or online bank transfer. *That* would blow people's socks off.

Just thinking aloud.

Either way, as things currently stand, this coin is lacking evidence of innovation and nobody with any sense is going to invest in it until they can be satisfied that this isn't just really well marketed hype for a clonecoin.

WARNING!!! Check your forum URLs carefully and avoid links to phishing sites like 'thebitcointalk' 'bitcointalk.to' and 'BitcointaLLk'

No offence – this is a truly honest question.

I'll get to work on writing a whitepaper. In the meantime, the original working infographic, and all the information I provided with it is still valid.

Mind, this post was while we were working on it, and hadn't branded it or completed a working version of it yet.

There's our fundraiser, the anonymous feature, active and very generous community, our tendency to avoid hyping upcoming features and ninja launch things, etc. Check us out on twitter @pinkcoin_ #pinkcoin as well as our irc chatroom https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.freenode.net?channel=#pinktalk.

There's a lot to love, and always more to come.

For the moment we PINK have a website for anon transfer, that is great.
But I would like to see this implemented in the wallet, is there any timeline/schedule for that?

+1 for PINK

Nope... all that in development and no schedule whatsoever. They will be released when they will be released Smiley We all know what happened to the coins who gave schedules, promises and time frames. And looking at all the new experimental features we're brainstorming and toying with, a time frame is the most unproductive thing we can happen for this coin. Unlike other coins (and most public companies), we don't plan on "pleasing" traders or investors with a stimulant (hype) each quarter / month / week. We go down that road, then we will only have time for that. Sockpuppet management is a time consuming and often expensive working style... but it simulates activity and pleases the day traders Smiley

Hi, thanks for quick reply.
Even though you dont want to have a timeschedule for upcoming releases I think that the PinkCoin community would appreciate to know what features and functions will be implemented.

I appreciate whatever you are doing guys but want to know what features will implemented and by that said I think that more people would engage and take part of the Pink community.

I understand the anxiety to know whats coming up in the future for Pinkcoin, and like anyone coughing up money in an investment, would like as much details as possible. But pretty much the major things we're working on are unique to Pink and cannot be comparable to features of other coins at the moment. We're also in the middle of testing their feasability... whether its practical, most effecient way to go about implementing them etc. Some of them may not even be remotely possible. It would be an embarrassment to say we're working on so-n-so feature, news spread like wildfire, prices shooting up, only to realize its not feasible, and prices come crashing down leaving behind a horde of bag holders... impatient for the next "feature" to be announced so they can cash out with minimal loss, etc. The announcement cycle will be a never ending process then... giving hints and stuff every few days, putting more pressure to get half baked features out there. It has the same outcome of having a timeline. Its one of the reasons we adopted a no announcements / hype policy and ninja launch them when they are ready for public. In some cases like the anon, we needed a larger base of users to test it out and provide feedback so we could fix the bugs before rolling out the final version and locking it.

Rest assured, now that its behind us, we're moving on to tinkering with other features that really matter. I'm not going to lie... its going to be a while. Just don't keep refreshing every 10 minutes like McHammer to see if the next feature is announced  Cheesy
