TradeMyBit offers best rates of just 0.002BTC per MH/s/Day

Not even close, try again.

No, I mean this post is riddled with inaccuracies.. Theres no pool that pays anywhere near 0.002 btc per MH/s/day. I certainly would not take financial advice from someone who can't do simple math.

Okay, so if the payout is supposed to be even lower, then the analysis provided above is more conservative since it gives the miner better ROI than it actually does, right?

Oh I dont know, Im not saying you shouldn't buy HYP.. I just saw a ridiculous number and generally someone who doesnt have any facts straight should not be consulted for financial advice. Buying HYP is probably less about the numbers and more about the roulette wheel... is it going to go down in price 800% or stay up? Can I dump before other people and buy more to stake after the dump or will I miss it?

I think it was actually a good model to at least consider the coin through. High PoS coins act like mining masternodes, where your "node" of coins have power to mine/mint only so many coins. I know that if someone was considering buying a miner, I'd actually recommend that they just buy a few high PoS coins since it's less risk imo, especially when you consider time commitment as well.

I have made a small quality of life change to CCE. Post links have been changed to get links on most pages.

This means that information in the explorer is now linkable:

Example:

http://hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com/block?block=100945

Awesome! This is a must have feature in my opinion, so happy to see it implemented.

Apologies if my 0.002BTC per day was off - like I say, I've not mined for a few weeks now, and when I quickly looked on Trademybit, the top paying altcoin at that moment was showing 0.00197 - so if that was high, so be-it.... by the sounds of it, it only goes to highlight that the payouts from mining are even less than I estimated.

Like I say, I was just "talking out loud", what was going on in my head - I don't mind being told there's inaccuracies, it was just another way of looking at things from a different perspective.

Even if the price will go down significantly, you'll be able to break even, because the price sooner or later will reach the floor (you can simply wait till it happens before buying), and gained compounded interest will cover all loses. HYP is in TOP 10 on Polo by volume, it means that there is a trading activity, which, in its turn, means this coin has good liquidity and buy support (you can compare volumes in bid and ask order books). A price doesn't come from nothing, it is the result of hard work and a good concept, and there are a lot of milestones on the horizon.

The new wallet version for Mac OS crashes on Snow Leo, and there are some people in Polo trollbox, who also encountered this issue.

Ok, before I go pulling my hair out I have to ask, are you running 64 bit?

Otherwise, there appears to be some major changes between your OS and those that came after it. With some research (and a shot or two) I should be able to figure it out.

This post sums up why all this bullshit is a scam

Yes, I'm running 64 bit kernel.

<key>Kernel Architecture</key>
<string>x86_64</string>

Older versions of client still work. Probably, there were some changes in compilation process or new commits are not compatible with older systems.

What Mac OS version do you have? I'll try to install few more OS versions below yours and check the client there, and try to compile specially on those platforms.

Yes, it's the amount you'll get when your block stakes. It can stake not earlier than after 8.8 days. How much time will it take exactly depends on your block size and luck. 15 days on average with 1000-4000 HYP block.

We are compiling the mac os executables in house now, instead of contracting them out like we did for the previous version.  So there is going to be a bit of a learning curve probably until we get them flawless.

It has to actually stake. Staking is mining, and is random. It can take anywhere from 9 days to 20 days, depending on how long you leave your wallet open. Make sure you keep it unlocked for it to stake.

At the same moment that the staking is successful and generates a new block, it will also award you the credit of the HYP award, though
it will show as "immature" for the time that it takes newly minted coins to mature, typically a few hours, before you can spend it.

To fight your fears. It's a trustless (it's a special term) decentralized network. It means that it works automatically and no one can change it. Your staking reward will be paid to you by the system (not by human or by human's decision), when your wallet does one operation, that helps network to work. So follow this short instruction and then feel yourself comfortable and wait for your reward.

- Encrypt your wallet. "Tools -> Encrypt wallet", then enter your passphrase;
- Buy some amount of HYP, no less than 1000 in total (you can buy less, but in this case you will wait too long);
- Follow this tutorial to combine blocks (or split, if you have too large blocks) to make them 1000-4000 HYP in size;
- Close your wallet and open it after 8.8 days.
- Unlock your wallet for staking only. "Tools -> Unlock wallet", check button "For staking only" must be enabled;
- Leave your wallet open until it stakes (you can close it if you need and then open again when it is possible). You'll see a new icon appeared on the right side of the wallet, with the reward sum near it.

Just a quick note, that this button currently does nothing (if I recall correctly). I have just done a complete rehaul of the code for unlockformint and it will be released proper soon.

Well, last time I received a reward was 9/24. It's been saying estimated reward time 2 days for the past 6 days. I've closed and reopened the wallet. It's staking, i guess i have to wait once every 8 days?
