So...what's next for XCH/VIA? I'm guessing everybody is waiting on news.

Blockchain notary
Treechains
Counterparty/Dogeparty/Clearinghouse developments
Viacoin opcodes
Timelines/new roadmap

Agree with andreibi we need some updates.

That would be the smartest thing. If you want an idea of what's happening, idle in viacoin-dev, clearinghouse and clearwallet channels in freenode.

This year btc crash like last year, btc and all alt-coins went down from July to November in last year, and then go to da moon! History repeats itself, let's wait patiently.

Now that the XCH sale is over, of what use are VIAcoins?

Is there another project in the pipeline that will require them?

I'm probably not the only one wondering about this, so please ELI20.

Fees in clearinghouse are charged in VIA.  Perhaps drak will come up with some more uses in the future.

ClearingHouse is an embedded consensus system that relies on proof-of-publication. In laymans terms, ClearingHouse transactions occur on the Viacoin blockchain. The ClearingHouse transaction messages are encoded inside viacoin transaction for which you need viacoin. So it's not that there are "fees" for ClearingHouse transactions, it's that you cannot write CH messages in the blockchain without viacoin.

Blockchains themselves are not money, they are speech because they are the perfect way to publish information and establish order using decentralized consensus: in laymans terms, blockchains allow you to prove the order in which messages are recorded: e.g. Alice paid Bob, then Bob paid Charlie - it's this particular magic that solves the so called "double spend" problem. Money is an application of blockchains, as it notary, smart property, gambling etc. and anything else that requires the ability to establish the order in which events occurred in an immutable way.

Dogeparty is getting higher lows in spite of limited access (Poloniex only). This is a prelude to Clearinghouse rise. Viacoin is faster than Dogecoin - with 24 secs confirms. Viacoin will have new ops and treechains. Clearinghouse will have blockchain notary.

Dogeparty has excellent marketing and exposure in the Dogecoin community while Clearinghouse and Viacoin are only known to a few and the top brass (This forum and traders in Twitter). Ordinary people will know of Dogeparty first before learning about Clearinghouse at this point in time. Viacoin and Clearinghouse are really undervalued. It's like Cinderella.

Let me reiterate: BE GREEDY WHEN OTHERS ARE FEARFUL

Smart money will buy between 20k to 80k. The price is so low because the general population of traders/coin enthusiasts don't know the potential of Viacoin and Clearinghouse.

You can actually monitor Twitter hashtags and see no promotions by the bigwigs.

Another plus for Viacoin: Doge developers seem to have some sort of friction with Dogeparty developers. And you all probably know BTC devs are at odds with Counterparty devs. While in Viacoin, the dev team for Viacoin and Clearinghouse is one and the same.

What gives Viacoin value ? XCH has value, but is Viacoin not simply the conduit for Clearinghouse and as such, does it need a market value (per unit rather than as a whole system) ?

That is like saying XCP (counterparty) or MSC (mastercoin) have value and BTC does not. Think carefully. Both XCP and MSC are also embedded consensus systems.
