IMO Via has had its solid cycle and its pretty much going to either fizzle out from here or more likely, just be maintained at these low levels.

This isn't FUD. I'm just calling it how I see it. This happens to all coins, especially 'cartel' coins. Via had a solid, but brief run up to 70k & sat between 40-55k for a decent amount of time. Looking at the charts and the viacoin blog posts, 2 major contributing factors to the early pumps were hiring of GrynnSann (who looking through this thread and other blog posts, we havent heard from...is he even still part of the team?) and hiring of Peter Todd (which caused the biggest viacoin pump). Looking at the charts, even the 'Peter Todd' pump was better than the 'Clearing House pump'.

Since then there have been some solid developments. Countless bug fixes and improvements to Clearing House/Wallet. Then the dumps happened...dumps which Viacoin hasn't really been able to recover from, as with most altcoins. From 70k to 20k back to high-40's (couldn't break 50k), then here we are back to low 20's with the occasional dip to high-teens.

Even with major features such as the BlockChain Notary being released, does nothing for the price. And I can say without a doubt, that future developments will, for the most part, be the same. Sure there will be a 'Tree Chains' pump, but looking at all evidence laid out, its safe to say it will be very underwhelming.

Viacoin is far from a shitcoin and actually one of the few altcoins with long-term potential. But that's exactly it...Long-Term. Anyone who buys Viacoin should either be quick-flipping as I have (10-20% profits essentially daily). And the remainder should just be long-term investors who can take a beating if Via somehow drops to the low teens. I honestly believe that the ATH of about 70k satoshis will never be broken, let alone seen again. If it does, it will be because of major viacoin adoption in the future. Until that happens, nothing will happen.

Anyway, this was just my current opinion on Viacoin.

tl;dr solid coin. cycle is over. best for quick flips and long-term investment. dont expect the ATH to break anytime soon, if ever. Major adoption or bust.

A 10x increase in value and easily achievable given the rapid development this more advanced and feature rich alternative blockchain to bitcoin is undergoing.

Currently, Viacoin is worth less than its price prior to the involvement of GrynnSann, Peter Todd, Launch of Clearing House, Ending of XCH 'burn', Introduction of Blockchain Notary, etc..

A '10x increase' in value would make sense if the value continuously has been rising (or at the very least, a maintained uptrend, no matter how weak), as developments have been rolling out. Where in fact, as of late, developments are doing nothing for the price and looking at the general timeline chart, Viacoin has been on an obvious downtrend.

Yes, it makes sense to say that value increases with developments, but viacoin obviously isn't following that trend. Quite the opposite actually. You can keep telling yourself otherwise, but the charts don't lie.

And I respect your optimism. As I mentioned, these are only my opinions on Viacoin based on what information is available to us. There will be dumps & there will be pumps, though either will be minor rather than major. Nowhere near the level of the pumps viacoin went through in the past. Developments can be rolled out every other day, and the price will barely move. It will be stuck in this limbo until mass adaption happens. If ever.

"Will Viacoin ever go through major adoption?" Thats basically the question those considering to be a viacoin investors (not to be confused with day traders), need to ask themselves as it will be the ONLY catalyst for this coin , which current market cap is under $1 million USD, to hit anywhere near CounterParty's marketcap of $10+ million USD.

You do realize that the whole XCP & Overstock news would essential be the first step for XCP's major/mass adoption for crypto enthusiasts right? It would be a HUGE win for XCP. So then, aside from at least the first steps of mass/major, do tell me what would cause Viacoins price to double/triple in the forseeable future? Tree Chains? A potential double from 15-20,000 satoshis? Even triple of the current price wont be near the ATH.

You can throw out developments constantly, but Viacoin's price wont budge. The hype phase has passed. Whales who actually took advantage of the hype have already taken profits and gone. Im not holding btcdrak to anything as something like this is completely out of his hands. But on a side note, I do want to praise his hard work and dedication as well as the rest of the Viacoin dev team.

Something like the Overstock/XCP announcement would've been something that Viacoin needs. Its a perfect example of the catalyst I was talking about. Until something like this happens with Viacoin, you can expect continued developments to roll out , but no major changes in viacoin value.

on a side note, Ive already got some of my low buy orders filled..specifically my 19,000-range buy orders. Will be flipping these @ the inevitable temp rise 21-23k satoshis sometime today...as it has been doing for so long now.

You want to make quick, guaranteed profits with viacoin at its current state? Swing. Albeit not much, these guaranteed little swings are better than none.
