Ok, just bought a 10msh contract for scrypt mining at genesis mining where you can mine via. Never mind before In the OP are a lot of pools listed. Would recommend to try http://viacoin.minerpools.comI think that this pool has issues atm. Try via.1gh.com the point is that I bought a cloud mining cotnract. This is the only one where you can choose to mine and keep viacoins but you cannot chose the pool to mine on (unfortunately). i have had 20 mhs with them for 6 weeks or so, its ok. when the btc price goes down the fees are killer though. im not really sure yet if they actually mine via or multi btc and buy via, either way you get a decent amount per day and you dont have to even think about it which is cool. should be hitting ROI in another 6 weeks or so, would have been alot sooner if the btc value had held. also check out hashx on ipominer, 7.99 per mhs, short ROI and has been close to 10% higher than ltc gear.

IMHO price is going down because of impatient holders who want to participate in another DarkShadowMarijuana pump, hoping to make some 0.02 BTC profit and buy some candies. I will not be surprised if the price falls down to 6-8k satoshi. I consider myself as a good trader, but following those waves could be VERY dangerous. I am sure that many people lost money by selling VIA (or another good coins... like SFR for example) and then buy some new DarkDark or DopeMarijuana coin at their peak. Like I said many times in several threads - people are sheeps in general. i think this past week it's been more the mune and blocktech ICO's people are dumping to get into.same thing happened when the ethereum ico started. alot of usually stable coins have been diving. hopefully people make some btc on those and get back into VIA.

I am happy to hear that because I was not so sure if I will hit roi with this. Do you think I should upgrade to 20mhs? Does it actually affect my roi cause the price model is quite linear, isnt it? Another thing is that they show me a (tiny) btc amount although I had 100% via mining in the setup... So they might really buy via... Just ordered 10mhs on ipominer. A bit risky but nice return. lets see how this will turn out. Thanks for the hint man. I am in Germany with extremely high energy costs and cloud mining is really the only solution.

Hey karmala I live in Germany too Yeah energy cost sucks. You can also try to rent hash on www.miningrigrentals.com where you can choose the pool for mining. But its not so profitable like buying coins from the exchange if you mine established coins like via. If you want to buy viacoins with Euros try https://www.litebit.eu/coin/via/de/They are legit and its without fees if you pay withe SEPA

ICOs are sucking volume out of the market though of course. If Ethereum didn't do enough damage, ICOs have become more prominent during these past few weeks it's almost unreal. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same group of devs pushing out ICO after ICO these past 3-6 weeks. But as damaging as ICO's are lately in an already bearish market, its really the BTC downtrend thats causing the most damage. Had BTC remained $550-600 per coin, the alt scene would still remain prominent. This is what is hurting the alts the most. Shitcoins aside, legit coins with a real future including Viacoin have taken huge dips lately. It's not a standalone thing. Aside from your typical pump & dump/scam coin, its literally all red across the board. It's the current market situation, not a specific altcoin. It all boils down to which way you think crypto will be heading. If you think BTC is going to seriously tank, it might be best to go back to FIAT. If you think this bearish BTC market will reverse (at least double for BTC), then all legit alts will recover with it and then some. Pure speculation as to where BTC is heading.

There should be some news coming soon. I've got 100% confirmation that a major social gaming co is dropping it's counterparty partnership in favor of clearinghouse. This is huge because it's not just some new company, they are major and their products are household names. From what I have read and received, this company is no stranger to digital currency and was one of the first big names to accept bitcoin. I've already bought on the rumor and wanted to shed some light here based on sheer speculation of course. This should be huge for the community and will likely set the precedent for many others to follow. I don't want to say too much because I received the info from a close friend of mine. However, he didn't exactly tell me not to say anything

Why can't I solo mine viacoin? viacoinqt refuses to allow miners to connect.
My viacoin.conf:
daemon=1 server=1 rpcuser=prelude rpcpassword=x rpcconnect=127.0.0.1 rpcallowip=192.168.1.193 port=5223 rpcport=5222
I've got plenty of experience solo mining, and all other coins work. Just can't get via going for some reason, what am I missing?
