Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I had some ants U1 too.
After a while this sort of rubber between the silicon and the metal melted and dripped out.
And I smelled burned metal, they are still working but this can't be good right?

would be really clever to wire it up to a relay for your power bars/outlets.  Detector smells smoke, all your power to the miners is cut off to prevent fueling the fire (and further melting/burning wires). Of course a false alarm would cause a halt to mining until resolved

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Is the small dent on the top unit part of the story as to no rack ears?

Those Y-cables don't get too hot?

We had some Y-cables, but they were like 18ga wires and got way too hot if the cable was pulling more than ~400W (on 110v). Now, we run 16 ga for anything <1000W, and 14ga for anything >1000W (both on 220v).

I didn't even realize until now how small they look in the picture there!  All of them are 10-13A rated (sizes and Y break out lengths) from Stayonline.  I am like you on most any wiring so when I went over to the Y's (it was originally for DELL PSU's only) just ordered a bunch like I've used in our datacenter at work.  The first few days of running 2x Novembers I kept running back and fourth just in case LOL!

Dent was there when it came out of the box. There were missing screws, so aside from not having screws for the rack ears, the threads on the machine are stripped, so couldn't borrow screws from other S2's to make the rack ears work.

It's definitely louder than 4 antminer S1's. I wouldn't want it in my office.
