Check that your wallet is unlocked.  When you hover the mouse over the staking icon (little green pick axes) does it show info on how long it should take?

If just restarting the wallet does not fix the problem, try stopping the wallet, delete the files blk0001.dat, blkindex.dat and the folder called "database" along with its contents. Do not, repeat DO NOT delete the file wallet.dat or you will lose all your coins! In fact, now would be a very good time to take a backup of wallet.dat if you have not done so already. Restart the wallet and it will rebuild your local copy of the blockchain, which will take a few minutes. This usually fixes such problems. I have seen similar problems occur if the wallet program is not shut down gracefully i.e. if the computer crashes or is powered off suddenly. Could that have been the case?
