djm34 is a coder of ccminer a nvidia gpu miner
so there is a gpu miner for magi`but not official public?

That would be my guess. Let's all have one shall we? Kill this coin.
would not kill it
just change by make cpu mining senseless

but beside that u can have the same POW mechanics just adapt the trigger values for reward reduction to fit GPU hashrate

something like a target of 100 GPU cards hashing and if nethashrate is more rewards reduced

so it make only sence for each miner use a single GPU

from power useage and ecological  point a gtx750ti use less power than a high end CPU and it runs silent and cold

to get point when cpu coin follow the unavoidable move to GPU miner is that the hidden guy who use gpu while all others mine CPU lose his advantage

the next evolutionstep if coin become valuable enought will be FPGA and long long later if very valuable ASICS

the reduce rewards ruleset will be able avoid ASICS because noone produce that expensive stuff if he cant use it

You miss the point and your logic follows "Bitcoin" thinking. The guy who starts bulldozing with n MH/s simply kills the block rewards in XMG. Not like Bitcoin at all. By all means use whatever computing device available, but show community spirit and keep it on a leash. There will be no change in the block reward system. Overmine it and kill it. There is absolutely no point in going to FPGA or ASIC for XMG - it makes no economic sense at all. As soon as you started using it the block rewards would drop to zero and you just paid a shit load of money for a useless item.

Anybody pumping out over 250 Kh/s is part of the problem now, whatever computing device is used. In the not-too-distant future, anybody pumping out more than 100 Kh/s will be part of the problem. Greed does not work under the XMG paradigm. If anything, greed is punished and it is everybody else who suffers.

well, we can make magi a hard coin to get with 0 block reward, then the pricing increase.

I have difficulty understand how can you keep this promise. Producing at lower cost is producing at lower cost. That is, being able to sustain lower rewards.

Perhaps it would be time to adjust OP description, section 2 is especially... requiring attention.

PS: would it be possible to add the active campaigns (PoI, PoM, twitter etc...) on the website coinmagi.org?

Yes think it can. I will ask Joe.
What do you mean with add active campaign on Twitter? Share your idea amigo.

I mean, there are some active campaigns at the moment, PoI, PoM and if I understood well there's a kind of twitter campaign where you get 5 xmg for your better twit, itsn't it?
My "idea" (I don't think it has the nobiliy to be considered an idea but just an hint) is just adding a part in the website called, active campaigns, where you write what is on at the moment and perhaps a link to a description. Te XMG forum page is very active at the moment so if you stay away from it just a couple of days you end up with 10 pages to read Cheesy

You've got a lot of chance, cause here it's the contrario. My CPU is silent and my graphic card is a monster of noise ! I hope that a M7M GPU miner will never be released or one like the BSTY one (on that produces less hashrate with high end GPUs than a middle-class CPU).

I'm not a good samaritan, owning some magi dust (unfortunately not how much I'd like) I have my interests in magi going to the moon.
According to my calculation, if 1 xmg goes up to 100 USD each I can finally pay my mortage  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

FYI

In recent weeks, the crypto world is not easy. It strikes me that some coins almost have no movement in their threads.
Lots of coins will die this year.
But it is remarkable that the value of the Magi slowly rising. In an undulating motion.
Remember month ago value of 1 XMG was between 4k & 6k Satoshi.
I had reckoned that Magi will again arrive at that value. But that is not yet on the agenda. And will perhaps not happen.

The interest in Magi is increasing.
This has advantages and disadvantages.
There are people who want to get their share and will try to arrange this in many ways.
Examples are the scammers in IRC asking for BTC to pump Magi. For this they use look-a-like nick-names from our Magi-team or community and ask other members these questions pm in the IRC.

Magi team will never ask for a donation to that cause.
And if Magi-team ask for a donation that will always happen open and never pm. Also, Joe, and i and perhaps other members have been approached by other currencies. Requests to collaborate or to develop something for their coin. We also see more and more new people who post in our original thread. It is fantastic to see. But we have to stay alert here.
Some people/coins see Magi as a competitor and will try to provoke or repeat discussions.

The big difference of Magi is the power of the community.
Coins are depending on their community.
The growth of the Magi tells us that the Magi is a long term coin
Before a coin gets more value marketing must be good.
This takes time and is not just dependent on the block reward.
Magi has many members which do not use forums! Divercity makes Magi stronger.

Something personal: For me Magi is a unique coin with a much higher purpose than at present. I myself are not a miner. I invest only and have been fortunate to have several investors help. (Proof of Interest) The investments are usually returned to the community. I think anyone who currently owns XMG will not have to be too worried about the value. The value is still not something that we want it to be.
But as said before this takes a lot of time. Looking at all the coins we see coins that slowly grow stand much stronger in the market than fast risers do. Sure we can use our investments for expensive marketing or pay for a spot on Cryptsy. But the past has shown that this way is not successful.
Yet even looking at the bitcoin, the growth of bitcoin is successful because of the community behind it.
Many enthusiastic people have invested time, knowledge and skills in the grow of Bitcoin.
I myself am very proud of what The coin of the Magi reached within this short period. The unique campaigns, the standalone payment gateway and the other awesome developments that have been there or will be to ensure a bright future.

After this long text, I can only say: Do not ask what Magi can do for you but ask yourself what you can do for Magi.
(famous statement  Grin )
If you have specific knowledge or skills use it to help promote our unique Coin of the Magi.
Activity always get rewarded! Wink

I think this is the point.
If we want to aggressively trade there are more interesting coins out there, magi has another purpose. At the moment I think it would be better if the value of magi stays where it is now.
More pumping would create more interests in the trading part, not in the coin itself while we all want magi to grow stronger and more stable
