did you know that 38% of americans could not point to england on a global map?
LOL bruv, I'll whup yer arse in a geography (or Doctor Who) pub quiz, anytime, any place, and in any state of inebriation. Did you know the population of the US is measured in the 100s of millions? Did you know that "more is different?" Did you know we Yanks (respecting our English heritage) politely refer to that low-information 38% as the "legacy of slavery?" Would you believe I can do a passable Northern (Manchester/Scottish) brogue, Celtic (Welsh/Irish) lilt, and London Cockney? And I've never spend more than a few hours mucking about Old Blighty, while on layover at Heathrow. Could you match my range of American accents, which ranges from Deep Southern to (all regions of) Texan, to Californian TV English? Naw princess, you could never. So rest assured our top 62% is >> than your 100%. Great trolling though. Keep up the good work, especially on the Dash thread! Man, your arrogance is a perfect example of the stereotype many foreigners stereotype about us Americans. Nice job, pal. And you know what? American's in general actually don't know jack about what's happening in the world, or even in the States. Don't worry, we know YOU know everything...so I hope you don't take offense personally.

Seems like we're going down because of BTC going up again.
It seems like XMR really acts as a hedge against BTC, like fluffy said.
In dollar terms, we still have some benefit of the Bitfinex listing. Although for some reason I don't instinctively think about XMR in dollar terms. I think of bitcoin in dollar terms, and XMR in bitcoin. Fingers crossed we'll get an XMR gain soon. I can't see the BTC price staying where it is for so long - although the bitcoin speculation thread seems to think it will top $1k.

Aggrhh XMR seems to be keeping a little pace on parity with bitcoin. Not good. All junkies should fall and dive into calamity when btc itches to make another uptrending move. I might exaggerate though but the price rate monero has been demonstrating for quite a while since the recent october doom, this price rate is out of real. Wellz 1100+ K is a lot of money to pay for something that rallies on pathetic finex news, given the fact it was one step away from falling below psychological 0.004 level two weeks ago. Ha. Do the calculations now. 2.5X boost but no developments whatsoever.

Are you still waiting?

Good point, that pump was just before it should doom to save his ass for few more rounds. And it's holding high still. Bagholders will say it's the real value, it's better then BTC and other bullshit, all I can see is P&D.

Shorters are kind of sweet when they start worrying about their position entered under 0.01 or probably lower. I always want to pat them on the back of the head and sing a soothing children song to them. Reality is it has been going up for almost a month now despite very sizable dumps. You may get your chance to exit with a tiny profit if BTC moons but don't expect much more. http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/volume/monthly/XMR is a grown up coin now. I don't expect large hodlers to want to risk missing out on a nice slingshot after a BTC rise.

I could probably enjoy a conversation with you because you like to get deep into the finer points of issues...I think that's fun and I like being challenged, and even changing my mind if I'm swayed. Plus I like your insights in crypto when you don't get all puffy. When you get off point your written word comes across as small and defensive. Go ahead and have the last word on this one...I'm out. I shouldn't care so much about this crap to devote any energy to it. Man, your arrogance is a perfect example of the stereotype many foreigners stereotype about us Americans. Nice job, pal. Oh look, a self-loathing American who expects his compatriots to likewise act as a punching bag for anti-American stereotyping (and is still cranky because Hillary lost). Nice virtue signaling BTW. Never mind that most people everywhere in general actually "don't know jack about what's happening in the world." It's only Americans who are to be damned for that. Don't let the fact many of us Americans are as astute observers of current events as anyone else stop you from holding us responsible for the other 300 million.

I was just having a bit of fun engaging with volyova's "38% of Americans blah blah" trolling (and adding a bit of my own to the mix). That's what speculation threads are for, so lighten up Francis. No need to get triggered. He scurried off rather quickly. Probably recounting some votes in Wisconsin. Hah...that stings pretty bad...sure got me! I did vote, but not for either of those idiots.

I wonder why the arbitrage opportunities in bitcoin markets will remain for so long time. In bitstamp you are looking 762 usd per btc, virtually in all the Japanese exchanges the price is over 800 usd. That's like wasting free money for doing some arbitrage across the exchanges. Now Indian markets are calming down but still even there the price is above the western countries.

Funny how an offhand remark can lead to such. You americans are so prissy and defensive nowadays! Don't worry though, you can watch Game Of Thrones while your government tears up the constitution. On a related note, do you all think it is a good, or bad thing that a businessman has been able to buy the presidency of your country? Trump winning(!)has made your country a joke in the eyes of the rest of the world. My american friends, you with a brain, you must revolt. What else? EDIT: being a multi-talent, my portfolio of passable american accents includes (but isn't limited to), noo yawk, deep south, valley girl (I like doing that one) and minnesotan. BTW there's no such thing as a manchester/scottish brogue. Completely different parts of the UK. Just so you know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQsJ8XNlxmw

1 m chart looks decent in my opinion. It starts from low 6's and ends over 10. Very healthy growth pattern in my opinion. 1 year ago we were just dreaming of passing 0.004 which seemed to be an impossible barrier to pass.
What are your predictions of highs of 2017?

I wish. My little Monero mining operation would finally pay for itself! I definitely think $12-15 is possible in the next few months if we get some official GUI wallets and convince some more sites/ vendors to take XMR in addition to Bitcoin.

I change my mind it will be $80.09 nevar forget Apparently you are being prophetic here. and Shiroslullaby, I think $15 is quite pessimistic for an ATH of 2017. You need to understand that average price is usually at least half of ATH. I would give more chances that $15 is bottom of second half of 2017 then an ATH of 2017.

RingCT is already in the code and active on the public testnet. It is scheduled to go live on the main net with the next hard fork.
