Has anyone figured out how to store xmr yet?  I don't trust phone wallets or third party services because xmr will probably be $100 this time next year....  Cool

There is no hardware wallet in sight. Really for privacy your best choice is to run a node and use the official client from the command line with a strong password. Not as secure as a hardware wallet but what can you do. I do not care for paper wallets, you may differ.

If XMR can make it up to $100 next year, then we expect a hardware wallet soon. I wonder if we can shoot some requests to hardware wallet manufacturing companies like TREZOR to make one for XMR or for a combination of other crypto currencies. It would be awesome then!

Monero making it to $100 is nice to dream about. Trezor has already looked into it and says they do not have time to incorporate Monero as they are a small team working on getting the Trezor 2 out. Ledger is larger and have stated they have interest but do not have Monero on their roadmap yet.

Most people here are bullish about Monero and if they were to answer this, up to 90% would probably give you a positive and encouraging answer.

However... a short term profit in a one month time frame?  No-one can honestly give you an honest answer that assures you of this with any certainty.  Simply because this is the world of cryptocurrencies which are highly volatile and very difficult to predict - on any time frame.

My personal belief is Monero is a great investment, but that does not mean in one month I believe it will definitely be a higher price than today.

I think (over a longer term than one month) Monero will do extremely well and of course the GUI and Ring CT should both be here within a month, which is likely to boost the price - but nothing is ever guaranteed.

Do your own research, take a view and make your own decision.  At least if it is wrong it's your own fault, when it's 'someone else's fault' it's far worse.

If you do buy and it does well for you, don't forget to invite us along? ;-)

TumbleBit would be interesting if incorporated to Bitcoin, as an altcoin it will certainly be a scam like all spin-offs from proposed privacy-enhancing Bitcoin extensions: Dash/Darkcoin(Coinjoin), Zcash(Zerocoin/cash) etc, this is getting old.
A Cryptocurrency needs much more than privacy/fungibility, it needs scalability (Monero got it), a decent launch (Monero was fair), different mining algo (Monero has Cryptonight), substantial enhancements (Cryptonote is not a Bitcoin fork but created from scratch as a bold and successful re-interpretation of Satoshi Nakamoto original dream). Even the original Cryptonote (Bytecoin) is a scam, the only thing that saved it (Monero) as a clean fork was the merits of the protocol that I stated before and the yuge upgrades all over the code.

Wether it is more coins are added to the lending markets or shorts have been closed.
If the former is the case it is a classical sign in Monero that we are approaching the pump. Namely, in the short history of Monero the excessive supply of Moneros in the lending markets is indicating the upcoming pump.

To add, there's a guide for the paranoid:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/48cgmd/an_extensive_guide_for_securely_generating_an/

This guide uses MoneroAddress, but you can easily replace it with https://xmr.llcoins.net/.

Thanks, I appreciate the link to this.
I'll be creating a paper wallet this weekend. I'm moving my XMR from the exchanges/ online wallets and holding until I can buy my Bugatti.  Tongue

Definetely it will go to 0.02, and it might happen soon like everything Monero related.
0.02 is kinda nonbrainer.

How about a little TA on this 'speculation' thread?

Good support has turned up for the 0.01 level - and buy side on Polo is at above normal and exceeds sell side comfortably, implying a reluctance for hodlers to sell.

This is bullish - especially when BTC has broken the 750 level.  Anyone looking back would say (normally) a dip to under 0.01 was to be expected, but the support is surprisingly good.

So - TA gurus - pipe up, what do you see in your crystal balls? December lows are historically the norm, as is an inverse relationship to BTC price too.

Are we in a new paradigm?

TA?  I'm clueless

Two Decembers does not a history make.  Yes new paradigm.  Then there is elephant coin.  You never step in the same river twice.

Today I successfully raised my avg buy price.  Eating money.

Thanks for playing, cryptic crypto

It is interesting to keep mengimpan mmm, though when I bought 4 months ago it cost over 1,300, 000 bitcoin, and now under 1,000,000, I am still optimistic monero prices soon returned to the highest level.

Some pretty serious dumps...  Whale?

Looks like a single entity, market is generally bullish so dropping many thousands at once looks odd. Around 12,000 in the first large dump, then another of around 7,500.

Buy side ratio still high - so does someone want to spoil our Christmas, or was it a legitimate cashing out into depth?

people are preparing for btc to go over 1k i think
some xmr dumps are to be expected
core is meeting the chinese miners on sunday to figure out the  scaling problem
and if that goes well ,altcoins will be screwed until sometime next year and btc will probazbly slingshot to at least $1600
when the scaling issue is resolved

Hmmm...  I didn't know about the meet.  I do agree 'when the scaling issue is solved' there will be rockets for BTC.

But AFAIK it's still 'if' rather than 'when' - I will keep an eye out, thanks.
