Sorry for off topic, but does anyone know where I can import a Soend Privtae Key for Monero?
Is that means Monero is SHITCOIN? answer anyone. how to use monero private key? SPEND key hold the coins. how to use it? how to import it? carlosiness and me have the same question. if nobody knows how to use monero private key this coin has no future. period Crosspost: Tried that before. "Command does not exist" You have to launch monero-wallet-cli (with that flag) from the command prompt. Please read the guide, there are instructions on how to do so in it. those instructions are usseless because : Subsequently type: simplewallet --generate-from-keys <wallet filename>and i get message: simplewallet is not recognized as an internal or external command. All day i can't spend monero with private keys! i start hate this coin Please someone give me 0.05btc and i will send all keys to you first, it is 5 XMR on it

Thus, the command is as follows: monero-wallet-cli --generate-from-keys <wallet filename> Also note that this has command has to be executed from the command prompt. There are instructions on how to open it in the aforementioned guide.

The wallet name can be arbitrary since a new wallet will be created.

Lots of drama, wailing and gnashing of teeth... getting a decent wallet out should completely solve this kind of stuff. Hang on! It's coming Soon!
Also, and this is just a suggestion but, when we release it for Windows somebody needs to drag out a copy of Installshield or Wise and create a standard setup file, this is pretty much the least that is generally expected in the Windows world.

I have to agree that it is about time a simple 'one click to set up', GUI wallet was available. $100 million market cap and no GUI wallet for new users to feel welcome? Yep, we're genuine and nice - not IPO types etc.... But a wallet is overdue. I struggled through the CLI method (with generous help from wonderful friends on here), but I do understand it looks like a pretty basic expectation is not being met for new holders who just want a wallet to put their coins in. I really hope that Soon™ means weeks now, not months.

My understanding is there is more than one audited and working third party GUI wallet for XMR.

AFAIK official GUI is coming Soon™ but awaiting new daemon, Jaxx wallet was coming but is not yet complete and the only other third party one I saw was very basic and incomplete, without any audited thumbs up I saw. If there was a decent GUI already, we wouldn't be giving newbies advice on CLI wallet. But if you know better, do tell - I will be happy to stand corrected.

I was using LightWallet and synced it from block 1,110,000 and saw 0 in my balance. there is no cammand windows on lightwallet by the way.. Guys, how to find that 5 XMR? should i run full node and wait it to download full blockchain? i could generate new wallet from private keys and sync it from the genesis block

It's all priced in, u will realize this when u get more knowledgeable. For now, all monero shows is tea leafs. If it were weed buds I would be on the fence whether to put a bitcoin on it. Nope it's a shriveled leaf. No way.

Guys, how to find that 5 XMR? should i run full node and wait it to download full blockchain?
Hey let's don't make it harder than needs to be for a newbie, right? Can't he just use the seed-words from the generated wallet on MyMonero.com to quickly get to his money? I know it's usually recommended that MM only be for testing or not-significant amounts, but 5 XMR here is under $40 bucks now, so is that really so much? Yeah yeah "everyone should be able to use the command line" I know the argument BUT srsly we-all here in the monero community really need to start seriously considering HOW to make EVERYTHING really a lot EASIER for people to actually USE very SIMPLE and CLEAN, and FAST...!!! XMR being "too hard" or "complicated" (especially for stoners on the darknet markets, LOL) will nip the organic growth that we need in the bud. Imagine how much more adoption there'd probably already be in the DNM's if only the GUI came out *before* AlphaBay added XMR? I totally believe that the reason it's still not preferred over BTC around there is 99.9% because of "no easy wallet available" yet.

Thanks. According to those numbers the current annual rate of inflation is 18% <=[(6 698*365)/13 575 000] It's still way higher than the Bitcoin one, which is around 4.2%. So we still have a long way to go. When will we be at 10% and 4%? That info is in the spreadsheet already (scroll right if you have a small screen). We are currently around 14%, not 18%.
