We are now at the top of the trading band since may 14.  If it breaks 227, then a spike up is likely, with the old resistance acting as support.  In that scenario we might see a lot of long-term capital come in, diversification flows from other speculative winners especially.  If it rejects this level, it is likely to try a fib level retrace.

Ha, yes I had the same thought and now we need to chase down DASH but will take another 30% to do that and reaching $1 billion market cap...unless DASH drops.

DASH does have better marketing (Amanda B is great) and probably better wallet software, so I'm not surprised it is higher but yes at least we pushed Bytecoin back down to #8 for now.

I'm starting to feel a little bad that I sold 1/4 of my XMR at half of the current price just over a week ago, but I still have a lot left.  What really kills me is how I sold 100% of it last year before the meteoric rise (or was that in 2015)?    Anyway at least I bought a bunch back earlier this year and it's my largest holding and I'm up 150% on it now.  That is not as nice as 2500% like I should be but at least it's something.

That tells me that she is being spoon fed information, or she can't remember that long of a line in order to spit it out as a single coherent thought!  I've tried to watch 2 or 3 and they were all edited the same way... I don't get the impression that she has more going for her than a pretty face amongst a bunch of nerds!

I've seen her do some speeches and she is clearly in grasp of at least some of the technical details.  It's not like she is a core developer and I've always seen her as a pretty faced spokesperson, which is her job and nothing wrong with that.  I don't care if she is reading a script that someone else wrote much of the time.  That's her job and she does it well and it does well for DASH.

There may be several more 100% gains to come, so don't feel like you lost your opportunity.  I recommend spending a fixed dollar/euro/yen amount every week, ignoring price. This works well for most people, if they persist.

The main thing to learn from your case is that you don't benefit from xmr you don't hold.  All the many hours I have spent trading were of insignificant  value compared to just being there, bags full, when the moves come.

1010 active nodes.  The moneroj are flying.  That's about as high as I've seen the count, IIRC.  You should all turn on mining - simple as clicking a button in the GUI.  HR seems low/unaffected by the # nodes.

I do not usually agree with you but I think you got this pretty well.
Right now I think Monero is severaly overpriced and hyped coin with a lot of downside risk but limited upside potential.

Alts are in a bubble - including XMR. Bear in mind, I sold already a nice part of my stash over 0.02 btc but I am not even considering buying anything at current prices despite it would be profitable.

Monero is lacking the most important thing which is marketing and hype. Therefore it cannot find new people adapting it and eventually the price will start declining as the old guys are starting to feel how hard it is to carry a heavy bag.

Outside of this thread not so much because there is no marketing. Marketing doesn't equal to circle jerking how awesome Monero is.

True there is no marketing. If you search for info you will find it but there is no hyip in media. I see other coins pumping all channels but monero never.

I was lucky back then,  that I was also new to BTC so it took me some time to get my BTC and price went down a bit after listed to Poloniex and before was listed to Mintpal.

A note to everyone jumping onboard for a pump and dump: Monero doesn't do that.  If you dump, you will probably find yourself coming back later, only to find your next buy to be half the size of your last buy.  Okay I admit there have been two spikes which retraced,  but since then Bitcoin has doubled.  How many people who sold at 2016’s ATH would be twice as wealthy today if only they had simply held through thick and thin, fair and stormy alike?  I daresay the overwhelming majority.  Don't be distracted by shiny Dunning-Krugerrands.  Stack your Monero gradually, persistently and you may end up like Warren Buffett (but younger prettier and more righteous).   Throw your chips on red, and you will end up like all the other nameless bums on the park benches who gambled away baby's milk money.
