I'm pretty sure you are a paid troll or unbelievably dumb. Why dont you claim that reward that we had on reddit for tracing XMR transactions? Easy money, right?

I brought up the reward to the author of the Steemit article (anonymint) and of course he trotted out a bunch of excuses. And what's even more sad is that he resorted to name calling when it became obvious that he lost the argument. Pathetic.

The Monerolink PDF has been answered by https://getmonero.org/2017/04/19/an-unofficial-response-to-an-empirical-analysis-of-linkability.html

That Monerolink PDF was written in part by Andrew Miller, who is on the official Zcash team (https://z.cash/team.html). That removes any impartiality which, being an academic, he's supposed to have. And, as seen in the link above, the faults they find with Monero can be easily debunked and/or those faults no longer apply since they've been fixed and have been fixed for some time. So, it's just FUD, but do your own research and see for yourself.

Here's a comparison of privacy-centric coins: https://moneroforcash.com/monero-vs-dash-vs-zcash-vs-bitcoinmixers.php
I am a longtime Monero supporter.  I bought within a month or two of the coin's issue in 2014, when Bittrex first listed it.  Monero is my biggest holding, more than any other crypto, and more than my dollar-denominated assets.  I had to get my bona fides out of the way because of what I am about to say.  And I want you to read and consider.
All the back and forth, including refuations posted by Monero people, are 99.9% motivated by partisanship.
Wake up and stop acting like kids in the schoolyard.
I come to this thread to read and communicate with people who understand crypto, and what I see is the same dreary tit-for-tat that infects every debate I'm following, whether it's core vs bitcoin cash, Monero vs Zcash, and all the rest of the small minded wrangling over crypto controversies.
Grow up, people.  There's much more to this than winning the argument.
I want to read something written in a tone of detachment.
God damn it.

You managed to create a bigger shitpost here than the ones you just ranted about.

At least you have a sense of homour.

Trolls are welcome in Monero, as they usually herald a nice uptick in price.  See Fatman last week, for instance and of course the various Ducks we seem to attract.

You have said your piece it has been refuted, given us all a giggle, now (since I can't see us agreeing) toddle off to your corporate controlled coins and leave us alone? I think most of us here in Monero are happy enough with our investment.

We are sorry for others who obviously aren't.

How can we ever forget True Cryptonaire, although the following post is far more amusing.

We both got into Monero around the same time thanks to Risto and Aminorex putting in our radar, around the time of the Mintpal pump. Unfortunately TC demonstrated his lack of foresight and sold all his holdings. I have never lost faith in this coin, reading the posts from trolls just makes me smile, when you trust the tech of a coin completely and respect the dev team 100% how can you not.

would you buy some xmr right now?

Sure...one of the only credible alt coins out there.

I disagree.
Monero seems so hard to code that there are very few wallet providers supporting it. Remember, Jaxx gave up. Also no hardware wallets so good luck storing your coins outside of the exchange in a secure manner.

Basically Monero is in the same situation it was 1-2 years ago. Hardly real world use cases.
Actually, it is even worse now as even Crypto Kingdom is out of the picture.

The utility of Monero is very limited and basically it is just another shitcoin.
In my opinion, the current price is very lucrative selling opportunity - after all it is like 4-5 times higher than 1 year ago.

I don't recall him ever being that er... popular here.  The contrast between the two posts sort of explains why.

Still, with all his Verge 'millions' , he can now buy some friends, I suppose.

I can not tell why Moreno's price is so high. Can someone explain the reason for this to me?

Monero team had previously lied to their supporters. Did everyone forget that? Please do not forget everything, because forgetting some things can encourage liars.

I'll go ahead say what I'm sure others are thinking. Many of us do think we're superior, because we are. Sorry if that isn't politically correct enough for you, but the entire crypto space is a bunch of greedy scumbags jerking each other off, and XMR doesn't play along. We have the moral high ground and a lot of people hate us for it, because no matter how much they tell themselves they're making the world a better place, we're a constant reminder that they're a fraud.

Make no mistake, I definitely have skin in this game. But I sleep like a baby.

Why is the Monero price so high? Because it's targeting the most valuable market in the entire cryptocurrency space, private wealth storage. Look at the Monero Github. Look at the Monero IRC. Both are far more active than any coins other than Bitcoin or Ethereum. Monero deserves to be #3 by market cap, at the very least.

As to what Fluffypony did, it was stupid, but it's pretty much irrelevant at this point. He apologized and said he won't do it again. Given how much he's contributed to Monero, I think the vast majority of the community has forgiven him.

i agree. i think monero deserves to be in the top 5 on the market.

monero team is spending overtime and it's normal for monero to rise as a counterpart to this work. i will continue to hold Moreno and I will be rich.  Grin

Forgive but never forget, i could bet my left toe on that he made a couple of yearly salaries from longing and shorting. And maybe he deserves that money but deceiving the community was pretty fucked up..  Cool

Beautiful! I'm pretty sure XMR is/was supressed by a big player for quite some time now, but with the recent increase in overall marketcap i think it's going to be much harder to keep it down. Up, up and away!
