Bots. Name change. SuperNET. A new mining pool. LTCD 2.0. A beta test.

That's all that comes to mind, right away. But I do think there was more.

Oh, yeah - Exchanges (stop submitting). Reward reduction. Logo.

good evening all. Is there an possibility that some one can fill me in on the days actions???

I have read a bit and am very happy to see there is a new team member.

Congrats @Xircom

I wish you all the best.

Also is there any news on the block reward reduction.

I think this will be a great idea but to do it with the a huge publicity and to advertise it well for that it happens when the next halving comes around.

I am still worried that a lot of people will get angry and divert the coin totally.

Who knows.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

re: SuperNet.  The dev has far too much to do at this point than to start thinking about something like that.  Besides which, pretty sure the coin couldn't be part of it anyway in it's current state as I don't think you can join if you're not much more than a clone.  It appears to me that the dev has a lot of plans that will result in this coin having some very unique features in a few months at which point it might be possible.

I still see all this talk of a name change, and while it may be a good idea for later, maybe at the 2.0 launch, right now we're known as LTCD.  I seriously doubt "dark" is discouraging investors.  It's far more likely that someone holding a massive amount of a coin that is being quickly depleted still in its infancy is discouraging new investors.  I am 100% behind the idea of dropping the block rewards.  I am 100% behind adding proof of stake.  I'm also 100% behind the current list of bugfixes and resolutions that I'm working on (ie. the pchMessageStart problem).

The way I see things, I wish I had gotten the opportunity to help with this coin prior to its initial launch.  I would almost propose relaunching LTCD with a side blockchain using proof-of-burn and trading 1:1 or even 1:0.5 with the new codebase to reduce the number of coins in circulation, without raising the 82,003,200 cap and allowing a definite start to proof-of-stake block generation and rewards.

Some of these things will need to be addressed VERY quickly if LTCD is to survive.  Some of these things may be damaging to our reputation in the short term, but I think we'll end up with a better infrastructure and more room for growth with the possibility of expansion very soon.

I have forked litecoin (again) into a staging repository where I'm going to build (yet another) testing-only currency to run some specific simulations and work out my own proof-of-stake implementation outside of core.  The sources will be open, so you can feel free to compile your own, but consider it a semi-closed beta as binary wallets will only be distributed to a select few of those willing to help run various scenarios.  In this staging currency, there will a stipulation within the license agreement that you are NOT allowed to buy or sell the currency for any real-world currency, crypto, fiat, precious metals or anything else that can be given a monetary value EXCEPT the staging coin itself.  It is something I'd like to keep as a staging ground for 2.0 features with no direct ties to LTCD other than hypotheticals.

PM for invites for beta testing.  I'll personally vet the testing candidates and decide who can get an early copy.

The staging currency I'm referring to is NOT LTCD 2.0, it is only a test bed (beyond the scope of testnet) for future feature integration within LTCD proper.

Can i be one of your testers?? hihi good at scenarios.

Well done Troll I like what I am reading.

First I heard of Supernet... Is that on the RC forum or something? Is there a date for that or is it just in discussion?

Nope, unfortunately LTCD is the best coin for many multipools to mine still.

LitecoinDark LTCD is a good name, it's what attracted me in the first place. Changing the name is confusing and unnecessary.
+1 I think changing the name will hurt the coin, it's what attracted me too and im sure it attracted others also. Changing the block rewards may slow down the dump of coins on the market. And I think we should only try to keep it only on Cryptsy and Bittrex exchanges, to keep the volume up.

Yeah I dont think changing the name is a smart move tbh. Changing the block reward... I dunno. I wouldnt really mind it, but really you are changing something that got you alot of your original miners. Changing it now could look like you got your cheap coins and now are trying to drive the price up... PoS is a safer option to extend the "life" of the coin imo..

maybe its a good idea to have a steeper decrease in the block reward but then also enabling LTCD to have a longer POW Phase.

Might come over better to the people who are just entering LTCD.

I share that opinion. Drop the reward but extend the time between subsequent halving. Extend the mining expiration date to further down the road.

maybe its a good idea to have a steeper decrease in the block reward but then also enabling LTCD to have a longer POW Phase.

Might come over better to the people who are just entering LTCD.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Not sure if too much POS is cool. It would though definitely be cool to have it linked with your HRH (hash rate history) if thats even possible i don't know.

So... what's the deal with the price being kept down so low?

Is it due to the mining rewards being far too plentiful?

That sounds like a great idea. I think PoS hybrid is what people want these days. Keeps all parties happy

I am leaning towards this idea too, should keep miners, traders and POS enthusiasts  happy

As long as the drop in POW rewards isn't TOO steep but I trust Dev's judgement Cheesy

Also would like to say when 2.0 comes out I think it should 1:1 trade in. 1 to 0.5 is very unappealing..currently dealing with the idea of that on CLD and not happy...
