So guys, the fork didn't go well, but the block reward still got lower to 24 right? Is that possible? Did that go well?

The block reward will go down to 24 or lower, based on coin supply, when we re-release the wallet 1.2

~About 2 weeks for wallet 1.2 release, correct? thnx.

~darylluke.

I do not know when, since Troll is sleeping right now and we didn't have the opportunity to talk yet.

We have to roll back the update. Read the last 5 pages back and you will understand it.

What was the reasoning behind the 24 hour window for alerting people? The last fork was very well coordinated and had a long time to be prepared for. Was something time-critical?

Yes before the next halving and to get a longer mining period.

So when exactly will be the next halving? it's getting a bit confusing. Is it will the new wallet next week? I also heard a lot of people say it is again today.

Regular halvings are still in place, and always were regardless of the fork/reward drop. The next regularly scheduled halving is at block 38,441 which is about 200 blocks away. It will drop rewards down to 400 coins per block.

Not to confuse you, but had the fork gone successfully the reward would have dropped to 24 coins yesterday. Then when we hit block 38,441 (assuming it still would have been today) would have dropped down to 12.5 coins per block.

Next halving is happening just as scheduled. So it is today yes. The reward Will be 400 instead of 800. Sorry for the confusion.

The wallet update from yesterday was succesfull tested in our test envoirement but didn't work on the current Litecoidark network. We are trying do fix the new update fast as possible.

Yes I understand the regular halving, i'm asking about when will be the change to the new reward system, for the drop to 24 coins/block.

Does this mean the website devs are employing designers from Finland to give the new site that 'Finnish' aura? Just kidding- I, like many, are grateful for the continual hard work that the Devs put forth which has carried this coin through since inception. Thanks!

When they came back online last night there was a message banner across the top stating they have disabled payouts until the fork/block reward fix is rolled out, but then they took the message down. Not sure why they would do this unless requested to do so by the devs.
