Ok, I've got a what's probably a really stupid question for Kano, but I can't work the answer out.
I'm running 3 small miners (total of about 3TH/s) through ckproxy and I've got two config files set up, one which lists ckpool and with the solo pool as backup and the other with the two pools in the opposite order. I've got a cron set up to run the proxy with the solo config file so I am lottery mining for about an hour and a half each day and the rest of the time it's happily mining away here.
My stupid question is: why is my hashrate graph on the ckpool website not showing a dip for the period of time it's running against the solo pool? As far as I understand it, the pools are not shared are they? I'm pretty certain that I am actually hashing against the solo pool and it's not failed over to the backup as because the solo pool shows a hashrate for me during the time. I powered down the miners for 10 minutes earlier today to move them to another location within the building and there's a definite drop off on the graph for that.

Standard miner config will mine to the first pool/proxy listed in your miner. Proxy will do the same. I think that probably answers any questions

If you read what I wrote, that's what I'm doing, and what I'm expecting to happen. Edit: Ok, looks like the proxy is failing over to backup, unsure why but will follow up in the solo thread.

Yeah I didn't say it would fix it - just any questions (about what it's supposed to do) So the options are: 1) your connection to the different port 2) your miner doesn't handle a redirect properly 3) bug in the proxy 1) try connecting directly (not with the proxy) to solo and see if the redirect works 2) would depends on the effects of what bitmain have hacked in their version (e.g. extranonce, header version rolling or any other hacks they do to cgminer) 3) You can test by setting it up directly in the miner to see if it does failover/back (the same test as 1 effectively) So if direct works fine but proxy doesn't then it's probably the proxy

Done number 1, by connecting the proxy to the target of the redirect and it appears to be working. Thanks for your help.

Yowza...blocks to book, and the A6 replacement shipped. FWIW...I definitely like how Canaan does business.
