Short answer...no. And it will not be, according to Kano.
I suggest reading back a few pages on the board...there are a number of posts on the subject, and why the position is what it is.

wtf? news website published in russia : Kano(ckpool) support Segway) lies ....

Kano pool no

CK pool yes which is solo

check out the solo.ckpool.org mining pool board starting here. There is important info from -ck about that.

Good Grief!

I had no clue when I shut my miners down some 25 hours ago that I would shut the pool down also!  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Since the rain has mysteriously vanished for the time being, I have fired all of the miners back up. Pumping out 49-50TH as we speak. Gotta ramp-up my speed on the "Workers" page, however.

COME ON BLOCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

P.S. I do know that my miners being shut down has nothing to do with the block diff or time. Smiley

Not any good sig campaigns out there that I want!

Wow! I've been away and offline for a few days for the holidays and just caught up reading the last 12 pages! So much fun! (Still laughing about CK's description of Kano. Both guys so talented and so honest! Love 'em both  Cheesy)

So what's up with this 44 hour stubborn block? We need some serious chicken sacrifices! Citronic, where are you? We need one of your famous images of delicious, spicy chicken  Grin

Perhaps a rhyme will help?

This stubborn block is almost 48
Here's some chicken, please take the bait
All this waitin' givin' me da blues
C'mon blocky, blocky...baby need new shoes!

Geez...this block is a real unowot,  Undecided
I'm guessing it is a coincidence that no block has been found since the pool dropped out a few days ago?
I've just joined and it seems i started in a bad week.

Since 11-3-2016 it has only happened twice that a block took this long... one was a 50h the other one took 52 hour...
Exciting stuff.  Roll Eyes
Yeah the problem with that though is you are looking at the wrong number Smiley
As long as the pool is finding plenty of blocks every 2 weeks, every diff change, the time per block doesn't really matter.
What matters is the Diff% per block.

If the block is 50% diff then the effect on the reward is to double part of it.
If the block is 200% diff then the effect on the reward is to halve part of it.
Time plays no factor in that.

So in this case we are (currently) up to 470% - damn bad luck.

Of course, that's not unexpected, there is a clear set expectation for blocks.

Here's that table again Smiley
Code:
 0.39346934028737   50.000%  1 in 1.6
 0.63212055882856  100.000%  1 in 2.7
 0.77686983985157  150.000%  1 in 4.5
 0.86466471676339  200.000%  1 in 7.4
 0.95021293163214  300.000%  1 in 20.1
 0.98168436111127  400.000%  1 in 54.6
 0.99090472289830  470.000%  1 in 109.9
 0.99326205300091  500.000%  1 in 148.4
 0.99752124782333  600.000%  1 in 403.4
 0.99872735771441  666.666%  1 in 785.8
 0.99908811803445  700.000%  1 in 1096.6
 0.99966453737210  800.000%  1 in 2981.0
 0.99987659019591  900.000%  1 in 8103.1
i.e. we expect, on average, 1 in ~110 to be > 470%

History shows the overall pool luck to be better than 100%, and monthly pool luck to usually be better than 100%.

Yep slow, long blocks happen, as is expected in hindsight.
Absolutely nothing you can do about that, it is expected, and of course happens on every pool Smiley

Ah most the mods on this forum are useless Cheesy

Apparently posting ~50 times (~40 times repeat posting the same post I deleted that's still quoted in full content here) isn't enough to get banned Smiley

So if you find a thread somewhere you don't like, you can do that and not expect a mod to ban your account unless it's new.

But ... the amusing thing that made me make this post ... a mod deleted a post of mine today ... from 2011 Cheesy
Yeah it was a pointless post that could have been deleted 5 years ago but wasn't (a smiley to someone else's post) but seriously that's beyond moronic ...

On the NL node (only) the provider is doing network maintenance (to upgrade the network):

In ~29 hours at 2016-11-30 04:30 UTC for half an hour.

They say there could be short network outages - so during that half hour you may find miners failing over/reconnecting.
Since it's not a guaranteed outage - I'll leave NL pointing to the NL node.
NL miners should make sure you have a backup node e.g. in this case the DE node.
Seems we've just hit that half hour range ... and alas network to the NL node is failing.
Everyone connected to NL seems to have dopped off - but are reconnecting back again less than a minute later.

I just joined this pool! Should of waited a bit considering this crazy block I guess but o well, here to stay now Smiley

It's weird, I was on Slush's for the last week (got my first miner a week ago) and I've been on Kano for just over a day now. I found that in Slush's pool my average hashrate was less than what my miner displays, by almost a full TH/s. Hasn't happened so far in Kano's, the the hashrate displayed on the pool and on my miner are pretty much the same.

... and 2 more changes for anyone who gets an A7 and mines here Smiley

In /etc/crontabs/root
Change the '5' to '2'
i.e. change it to:
Code:
*/2 * * * * /usr/bin/cgminer-monitor

and change /usr/bin/cgminer-monitor to check the last share, not the last work:
i.e. change line 14 from:
Code:
B=`cgminer-api devs | grep "^   \[Last Valid Work\]"`
to
Code:
B=`cgminer-api devs | grep "^   \[Last Share Time\]"`

Basically what this does is if the last share found is ever more than a minute ago, it will restart cgminer.
As I've mentioned before that's ever so unlikely here on a single miner.
But also I've found during the A7 startup it would often have to restart cgminer - and the 5->2 change speeds that up.

Well, it seems we've gone well beyond the need for an anime sacrifice so I'll start with ... Calamity Mary Smiley
From: Magical Girl Training Project
She's just been taken out (shiriken to the head) by Ripple/Kano, who you can see part of her on the right Smiley

FYI the anime probably should be named "Magical Girl Death Match" ...

Trust me, this is crazy right now.  However I have been in a dozen different pools over the past 4 years and I am here to stay.  If you do choose to leave, find a pool that does not mine in China.  Over 75% of the hashing power is in that country right now.  Their government could single handily drop bitcoin to its knees.

Thanx for that reply Kano, I get that taking 60h for a block is not a telling factor unless the hashrate would always be the same...
We crossed the 600% diff boundry...  so i'm guessing this month and week are going to be pritty red...
At the current Hashrate we should have around 3 to 4 blocks a day to be around 100% right?

Isn't it odd how other countries did not come behind BTC?  The USA, UK or other countries could have invested as much in companies who ran mining farms.  It's a relatively cheap investment.  It could still happen.

The other country's don't have the feeling that their government is corrupt, and don't need a way to trade with the west that the government cannot control.
And no, it won't happen, 80% of the bitcoins have been mined and building a big mine now is a year+ before ROI, and labour and electricity costs are much higher than in China.
