block 26>>>>> 419598

this is from 419000 to 419601

blocks 27,28,29 >  419621,419637, 419665

block 30 > 419706

so 30 blocks in the 419000 to 419999  1000 block count down to the ½ ing

with under 297 block left  we did very well  so far.

If we could rip five freaking fast blocks in five hours

we would reach shade of  pure green perfection for all slots

Me, too...except it's in Lakota...  Undecided   (Hoohhhh-kaaahhh-heyyy...) whilst avoiding tripping over the dog and kitten in dancing a circle in the living room...

FWIW...got my first invoice from the dogsled folks...just as represented, with a bit of credit for a delay in getting one machine online, very clear. I ran my own CAD/USD/BTC conversions, which they agreed were accurate. IMHO we've got at least two solid remote hosting solutions available to us.

Nice to see blocks still coming on...

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Hi there,

i don't really get the payout method of kano.is
I mined few weeks at ant pool and received every da around 0,01 BTC per Antminer S7
I ve read in this post about the great kano.is pool.
So i joined it. But the payouts dropped to much smaller amounts and there is no constant payout, or am i wrong ?
Can somebody describe me the method of kano.is, why is it better than ant pool ?
Than you very much in advance!

With PPS at say F2Pool or AntP - your daily return would be 0.01142995 according to their stated payout rate (but it always turns out slightly less for whatever reason?)

Antpool keeps the transaction fees and charges 0% fees on PPLNS - CKKano pays out transaction fees to miners and charges 0.9% fee on PPLNS
Antpool tends to average 99% luck (their 99% Total Lucky stat) - while CKKano averages well over 100% in the short/medium and long term.

7 day average earnings here at CKKano.is Pool (PPLNS) - for one of my S7's averaging 5.0TH/s - 0.014967364 (EDIT - and it just improved with another block while typing and whoops there goes another 2 blocks....)

so its been about 31% higher here (compared to PPS) for last 7 days and very similar historically

https://kano.is/index.php?k=payout

What payout method does the pool use?

We use PPLNS (Pay Per Last N Shares)

PPLNS means that when a block is found, the block reward is shared among the last N shares that miners sent to the pool, up to when the block was found.
The N value the pool uses is 5 times the network difficulty when the block is found - '5Nd'.

How much of each block does the pool reward?

Transaction fees are included in the miner reward.
Pool fee is 0.9% of the total.

PPLNS acts like the reward 'ramps up' when you first start mining.
What actually happens?

The 5Nd means it takes that long to reward your shares.
The ramp isn't missing rewards, it's delaying them to reduce variance.
Each share is rewarded in all the blocks found in the 5Nd after the share.
That's simply how it reduces variance. Each share's reward is averaged out over the 5Nd after it.
The pool hash rate for the last day is roughly 42.94PHs which means the 5Nd 'ramp' is roughly 1day 6hrs.

Continue reading below for more detail about how it works:

How do the PPLNS payments work?

The 5Nd means the pool rewards 5 times the expected number of shares, each time a block is found.
So each share will be paid approximately 1/5 of it's expected value, in each block it gets a reward,
but each share is also expected, on average, to be rewarded 5 times in blocks found after the share is submitted to the pool.
i.e. if pool luck was always 100% then each share is expected to be rewarded 5 times.

If pool luck is better than 100%, then the average share reward will be better than 5 times.
If pool luck is lower than 100%, then the average share reward will be less than 5 times.

What's a shift?

When your miner sends shares to the pool, the shares are not stored individually, but rather summarised into shifts.
Shifts are ~50min or less in length.
Aproximately every 30s, the pool generates new work and sends that to all the miners.
The pool also sends new work every time a block is found on the Bitcoin network.
A shift summarises all the shares submitted to the pool for 100 work changes.
However, when we find pool blocks, the current shift ends at the work in which the block was found
and a new shift starts.
A ckpool restart will also end the current shift and start a new shift.
A network difficulty change will also end the current shift and start a new shift.

So, what's the 5Nd value?

The current Bitcoin network value for Nd is 213,398,925,331.3 and thus 5Nd is 1,066,994,626,656.5
Bitcoin adjusts the Nd value every 2016 blocks, which is about every 2 weeks.

When a block is found, the reward process counts back shifts until the total share difficulty included is 5Nd.
Since shares are summarised into shifts, it will include the full shift at the end of the range counting backwards,
so it usually will be a bit more than 5Nd.

When are payments sent out?

The block 'Status' must first reach '+101 Confirms' on the Blocks page, and then is flagged as 'Matured', before the reward is distributed.
The block reward is sent out manually soon after that.

Just to add....
The reasons your payments started so small is because of the 5nD ramp up. You should begin receiving maximum payouts for your speed after about 1 day and 5 hours or so depending on the hash rate. Also note after your 5nd Ramps up it also takes time to tamp down meaning once you stop mining on the pool you will still receive rewards for about 1 day 5 hours after that

Phillip did a great job of this in another thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1338693.0

As to the payment method kano.is uses, that is explained by kano probably at least 100 times in this thread.

Yup...0.771 USD to CAD. It's within my cost projections. Probably is even better toward SGD...gotta scrape together now for an S9, but figure on waiting until after the halving and things settle out. Price will likely drop again.
