IMHO...the essence of good design is to build something that is so efficient and scaleable that to change it in any material way is to degrade it. That said...of course, referring to Kano and CK's design...there are also parts of this particular pool's code that are NOT open source for obvious (I hope) reasons. Anyway...it looks like kano.is because the code is essentially the same. If there are glitches in how they've implemented it, that's probably just fubar-ing on their end. EDIT: As a retired behavioral scientist, I'm having one helluva time just watching the range of curiosity around the event, rather than worrying about the event itself... The event to me seems obvious. (1) Avalon has a new rig coming out. (2) Avalon has new software coming out. (3) Avalon and kano have a relationship. (4) Who better to test it? (5) It has to be tested before it hits the market. I only hope it's coming soon. Ya know what, Chili? I hope you're right. I really do. We'll see, I guess. Your interpretation is quite possible.

Hi guys, I've been trying to read up on overclocking my S9s, now before you roll your eyes at my post, I understand the waranty implications and I am certain it will run hotter. My question is, is anybody doing it? If not, what are the risks/disadvantages? Also, why is Bitmain bringing out a 11,85 that runs at 550MHz, a 12.93 running at 600MHz the 14.0 running at 650Mhz. Surely this can't be the same machine running at different frequencies? I'm trying to understand this concept but there really not much to read up on, on google wait until your first 3 months gone and start to overclock because there S9 boards have many hardware issue so leave it under test for 3 months first i have special environment each miner have chimney to Take out the hot air to the outside and have a strong air condition to cool the room and i will wait until warranty finished to overclock with temp less than 90C

(5) It has to be tested before it hits the market. I only hope it's coming soon. I doubt this is the case. First, why would kano keep quiet about it? It's not like the Avalon7 is a secret (some info indicating it's coming out), and it wouldn't benefit Avalon or kano by keeping it quiet. Also, why would they test it with a pool with a max block size of ~750kb?[1] Pretty much every pool, except for the supposed testing pool uses 999kb blocks. Another question: Why would they use multiple users? Assuming it is Avalon testing, a miner would be around 4.5TH (20126 TH / # of workers (4478) [1] Assumption based on the fact that all their blocks that are large are around 750kb, even when there is over 5k transactions in the mempool.

As I said when I replied at the top of page 1000, in the link I mentioned ... Isn't ckpool and ckdb open source and on github?
My offhand guess based on the hashrate with only 2 users is that someone with a lot of hardware setup their own pool for their own mining operation and that is the public facing web interface so they can get to it from anywhere.
Rather than speculate, I'm gonna wait for Kano to be up and about, have his PepsiMax, and clue us in. Yeah they've found a couple of blocks also. https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/1KuWLoZuoJgz3N6sLoAwGth9XGm8YuFTGt/transactionsI've no idea who they are, but anyone who's technically competent to do so, can run ckpool and ckdb to make a simple pool. There are a number of pools running ckpool, and a few I know of are running ckdb. A few people have asked me to help them setup a pool, each time I've replied "no" (If you can't setup the pool yourself, you shouldn't be running a pool) The reason the blocks are 750k is most likely the obvious reason ... they didn't change the default in bticoind P.S. I'll delete any more posts about it since it has nothing to do with kano.is

FWIW...I saw version 13 of Core come up on autoupdates from Ubuntu 16.04LTS this morning. With some trepidation I allowed the update (after backing the wallet up to a couple of places ). It did something called "reweaving" the blocks on load, then finished loading and all is well.

Hi,
seems that I was firewalled by kano.is today, as I can't connect to any of pool mirrors anymore.
My ip address is 81.25.54.131. Is it possible to remove me from the black list?
only cpu mining at that address, your other addresses weren't so didn't get blocked ... Please unblock this address too. I ran CPU mining just as a stress test for a new single-board computer, but forgot to put cpuminer into benchmark mode instead of pool mining mode.
