Our luck is too low this month. Below 80%, and it keeps decreasing. I saw on antpool, some more than 1,000% luck. Whatis the key of luck?

Whatis the key of luck?
Finding a hash that meets or exceeds current difficulty as quickly as possible. Edit: and this pool does it without creating empty blocks.

...and...there is no "key" to luck, methinks...that's why it's called Luck. Useless info...didja know that the ancient god Hap is the root of the term "happy?" Hap was the god of luck. Well...I figure we're "happy" a good part of the time, eh?

You need to understand the benefits on mining on a smaller pool versus mining on a mega-pool like ant or f2 It's sort of like being a medium fish in a small pond versus being a very tiny fish in a huge pond. On a smaller pool, the pool will find less blocks than a mega-pool. But instead of splitting the pool block reward with 700+ people, like on Kano, on ant you will have to split that reward with - I don't know 100,000 or more people. I'm just pulling number out of thin air here, but if your hash rate earns you $1.00 per block on Kano, that same hash rate might only earn you $0.10 on antpoo. So even with more blocks found, you are still earning much less. And the important part: Tx FEE'S... You MUST take into consideration that ant does not share the transaction fees with the miners. They keep them for themselves. Sometimes these fees are an extra full Bitcoin or more that is supposed to be shared among the miners. On Kano's pool you get those extra transaction fees on ant you get nothing. (Also the fees to mine on ant are more when all is said a done.) Okay, that's the last time I'm explaining this for at least another 6 months. LOL Mine on!!

That block hit on the juvia shift...where is citronick and his Lucky Juvia machines! Something about this "juvia" shift? Last 3 blocks were juvia - and of the last 7 blocks, 4 were juvia?

Okay, that's the last time I'm explaining this for at least another 6 months. LOL Mine on!! You have got to look at the bigger picture and consider the pool is running at 102% luck since it started. Generally it all averages out. What you have to be careful of is how silly short term luck is represented. Example is that now we have found 4 blocks but our expected is 4.28. Well you can't find .28 of a block so our luck looks bad. However if we find another block again fast the luck shoots above 100% and dies down again as time lapses to the point of the expectation exceeding the found blocks again. It all averages out in the end. It's nice to get excited seeing 180% luck or whatever but you then expect that you aren't gunna be hitting again for a while. I believe a part of this is why this pool is set up on the 5rnd reward system really to stop the luck jumpers. It's not roulette, there is no wonky table with a scewed lucky result. Just grab ur pick axes and stick with the gang for the bants n gold. Hi everyone by the way. My 1st post lol I've been quietly here mining a couple of weeks.

Citronic used to swear by juvia shift luck...he even named most of his machines with juvia someway. I think he just liked the looks of that anime character. I know luck is not predictable but we do seem to get lots of blocks in the juvia shift. I just think of him and his machines whenever I see a juvia block come along.

What the 5Nd does is reduce variance. Instead of each share averaging getting one payout per block, they average to get 1/5 payout for 5 blocks. Thus if over the next 5Nd after a share is submitted, we find 5 blocks, then the share will be rewarded it's expected value. Variance on 5 blocks in 5Nd is of course lower than 1 block in 1Nd The statistically expected effect of 5Nd on long term miners is the same as the expected effect on hoppers. The perceived effect on hoppers is that you are less likely to miss getting a reward since your hop mining is still spread out over 5Nd. Of course it doesn't mean you expect to get more reward, just less often get 'no reward' for shares submitted when hopping. If the 5Nd was instead 1Nd, when you hop you still expect the same reward, but more often you'll get no reward, but conversely more often you'll get a higher than expected reward. It still all averages out. ... and you can't game it

Yeah - I miss Citronick hes off doing X11 Asics and Pascal Just dropping in to say hello since Juvia is the topic of the moment here WOW ... Amazing Juvia block streaks! But Kano is right, no way to rig Juvia here, luck is luck and randomly so. My group's mining operations still heavily invested in BTC, and doing not bad, thanks to a stronger BTC. 108 x S9-B1s (Summer-Juvia Farm), 120 x A721 (Winter-Gray Farm), and upcoming Avalon farm (codename: Autumn...) I would love to move the 2+PH farm to kano pool, but the decision is not solely mine alone, and my other investors have a say in their pool of choice. My group's "balanced portfolio" apart from Poloniex BTC & Alt trading, 30% of mining operations are on AMD GPU, X11 and Scrypt ASIC farms... the rest are BTC farm hosted at Labrador - cheap hydro power and coldest place on earth. Kano and solo.ckpool has many sentimental moments for me - my first Kano block in Juvia shift.... and then 1st solo block (25BTC those days). Learnt many things from Kano and CK, and kano members, made many friends here too - I am in deep gratitude to all of them for teaching me the finer aspects of Bitcoin and the blockchain. Cheers! Citronick

Citronick Been missing you. Would hope your principals might "see the light," but since I also have another principal...even in my tiny op...I do understand. Keep the shiny side up. EDIT: And I echo your sentiments on how much can be learned here, and the nature of the group.
