A quick question. I just lost a power supply on one of my A741´s.

They are all powered by pairs of HP 700W supplies so the unit is still hashing on the side that´s powered.

What I´m wondering is, can I leave it like this, powered on just one side, until i get a new power supply in a couple of days time.

I find the 741 runs fine with just one hash board powered (mine was hashing on the right side next to auc3 connection)
Do your power supplies get hot because if they do you might have to modify the fan unit.
Last lot of HP 750w supplies i had to do fan resistor mod to each to run fan properly

Fantastic i,ve got my first non dust payment here.

Am I the only one that got no notification from both the ckpool status app AND minergain? I'm glad we got a block, and I'm all for surprises but holy shit I need at least one of the two to go off  Undecided

You´re not alone. I didn´t get one from either CKPool, or Minergain.

CKPool iOS worked fine for me

I´m on Android. Not had any problems before, but got a new phone two days ago. Double checked the setup of CKPool and it says everything is OK. Just have to wait for the next block later today to see what happens. Tongue

Same here.
Android CK Pool, never had an issue before other than just a little delay of up to 15 minutes. But generally I got the Minergain almost immediately and then the ck pool about 10 minutes later. didn't get either on this block...very strange.

I use the android version,  and I received a notification. However, there was no sound notification. So far I like it. When my power
went down yesterday, it notified me of my set "lower limit". I will indeed look into Minergain's app too.

Also, I'm very pleased I received a small reward from THE BLOCK while ramping up! I was under the impression, that ramp up
was a total loss of time, with all the whining from the cradle section.

I am just wondering ....  Shocked

https://kano.is/index.php?k=pblocks

... how come that "Luck" ist consistently under 100% for the last 1000 blocks Huh
AND for the last 500 blocks AND for the last 250 AND 100 AND 50 AND 25 AND 10 AND 5 Huh

Whats the odds?

Or is there some systematic flaw in the block statistic or estimates?

Coz we have 2 points of bad luck that causes that:
One really bad at the end of October
and one not so bad in the last 5 blocks.

Even easier to spot is to look at the monthly table:
Only October and February (so far) have very low %

The odds are all shown there (something that no other pool shows) CDF[Erl]

Edit: and 500 being 99.80% luck is like ... yeah so what Tongue

Well yeah looking at "Monthly Statistics" its really just Oktober and February ... These impact the above "Block Statistic".
So we just have to hope for more luck and mine on...

However, the 500 one also points out a rather interesting point about the pool luck ...
500 of course includes October and February, but still with those 2 bad points, the overall luck for the last 500 is still 99.8%
Pretty much meaning that ... it's good Smiley

There was another bad run of luck in the 1000 to 500 range that pushed that down (to 96%)
But again, still, the long term luck (since the start) is above 100%

The important point to know about this is that, yes even though there have been some very bad luck periods, there have also, obviously, been some very good luck periods that have balanced out these runs of bad luck.
The people doing a runner lately obviously can't see the obviousness of that in the statistics.

Yes anyone who joined in the last month after the 16-Jan has only been mining in bad luck, but, well, that's simply just random.
Changing pools wont guarantee to increase your luck, since we don't know what luck is ahead - it could be good or bad - like any other pool.

A warning in advance about a restart Smiley

I'll be restarting the main work generator back end, in about 11 hours at 23:30 UTC
Everyone will failover to their 3rd pool - yeah your 2nd pool SHOULD be another kano.is node - so you SHOULD failover to your 3rd Smiley

You'll fail back pretty quickly, though ckpool takes about 5 minutes to restart properly, so it can take up to 10 minutes to fail back properly.
This will affect everyone mining on every node.

I've had to make 2 small changes to fix problems occurring in the pool logging.

I've added this to the web site notifications also.

Mine on Smiley

I'm back after 2 years gone. Maybe I'll turn the luck around. Thought about mining at slush, but after 5 min browsing his site I still couldn't determine what his fees are. Lame.

Its not a lot, but +11TH/s from me.

(also saying 11 TH/s isn't a lot sure sounds crazy given what hashrates were 2 years ago...)

Yeah, it wasn't too many years ago the entire network was 11Ths.

Well, I'm back at ramping up, after a 5hr power loss. I don't know what sucks worse, losing the time or freezing my ass off!
No heat on a 20°f Michigan night, is not fun at all. Back to business!

Look at the bright side...it was only 5 hours...20 degrees is a lot better than it could have been up there...and finally, you didn't cause the outage with blowing a transformer or something stupid and your gear is good so no surge. YAY!

Can I get a second on starting "Block Friday" a day early this week? Any votes?

Mine the F On!

hI, HOW DO I SET UP THE WALLET IN kano, OR HOW I WILL RECEIVE btc PAYMENTS?
THANKS

You have to have your own wallet and you put your BTC address for receiving your payouts under Account/Settings.  Of course, you have to register an account with Kano first Grin
i think i did now thanks

You guys are forgetting about CKPool Monitor by Zach Monroe https://ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com/ the 3rd item on page 1 of this thread.

I always get 2 notifications, the push notification from the ios app and a text message from CKPool Monitor.  I set one of my email notifications in CKPool Monitor to the email address of my phone number, (i.e. 5552224444@vtext.com for verizon customers) and it always works.  Sometimes CKPool Monitor comes in first and sometimes the ios app pops up first.

So ... in an attempt to get some large miners on board Smiley
I'll post  this here now and then work out how to get the attention of said larger miners ...

10 BTC giveaway to LARGE miners

Anyone with NON-RENTAL hash rate - i.e. their own miners, who shows on the rewards page a "Your N Avg" of exactly 9.5PH/s or more -
yes a large miner - for any block that they find, will get a bonus 1 BTC block finder reward for up to a maximum of 3 blocks per miner.

Total BTC I'll be giving out will be 10 BTC i.e. a total of ten 1 BTC block finder rewards.

The bonus 1 BTC block finder reward will not be taken from the block reward to miners - i.e. no miners will be getting paid less due to the block finder reward.

So how can a large miner get this 1, 2 or 3 BTC bonus reward?
They have to ramp up to over 9.5PHs then find a block.

Are there any quick ways to ramp up to 9.5PHs?
Yep - if you have 20PHs then you'll ramp up to 9.5PHs in less than 2.5Nd i.e. twice as fast.
Of course if you have more than that, the ramp to 9.5PHs will be faster again.

Does this affect the ramp time?
Yes, adding more hash rate to the pool reduces the time of the 5Nd ramp.
e.g. at the moment assuming we were 50PH/s then adding another 10PH/s to the pool would reduce the ramp time by 20%

If you know anyone on any bitmain pools or slush (which is probably now a bitmain pool also) with over 10PH then tell them about it Smiley

... and cryptostarusa can't get it Smiley

Poor cryptostarusa will be sad Wink

I see he bumped it up for the promo... lol  Grin   Got to get his 3 BTC.

Help:

Just switched phones - copied everything over to the new Android - FreeOTP included... However, my Kano (and all other) 2FA tokens did not.

I have my API QR & Key - anyway to reclaim or reset my 2FA.

Copied ALL of the phone's Android files onto Hard disk, but did not specifically back-up FreeOTP.

Anyone have any thoughts?
