For this to happen, you would've had to mine for the first 133% of a new block, leave, and then the new block wouldn't be found until 634%, which would've meant that all the work you did ramping up and back down would've taken place outside of the last 5Nd payout window.

Which is the type of activity the payout system was designed to prevent. It is a shame he had to lose so much when he could have simply read the details beforehand. So I have a question, did something happen at 12:59:32 UTC time on the 23'rd? For some reason, I dropped about 10TH and I noticed one of my S9's was only dishing out around 4TH. I finally noticed and rebooted this day and it looks like it is climbing back up. I did get an email saying my hash was low this morning, that's what gave me an inclination something was up.

You said next week, but for how long are you talking? For a week at a time or what?

Also, any stipulations for how long they have been mining to qualify? I'm thinking it would be cool to do for some of these guys who have stuck it out versus someone who only has maybe $150 worth of equipment. Like maybe a minimum of 3TH or so who may be a little more invested.

These are just some thoughts because I was thinking of carrying it on as well, I just don't want to go about it the wrong way. I'm open to some feedback on a fun little perk on doubling someone's hash, but unless it's for a 5nd period, it will never get the full benefits.

What do you guys think??

Just to clear up some confusion regarding the 'PASS THE HASH' GIVEAWAY! qualifications and time-frames, I'll highlight them below in red...

- You must be already mining on Kano with a combined hashpower below 10THs between ~500GHs and ~1THs (on the Pool Stats page).
- Send me a direct [Private] message with your user name, if you qualify and wish to participate. Do not reply to this with your user name, as we don't want to flood the forum, unless it is for a general comment.
- I will randomly draw one qualifying user tomorrow Monday midnight CET Monday evening EST. I will then announce the 'winner' and the S9 Avalon6 (3.5THs) will run under its user name until Sunday midnight CET Sunday evening EST.

133% was never more than a week.

The 596.203% block started on 2018‑01‑22 03:00:33 UTC and finished on 2018‑02‑09 20:11:09 UTC

Total about 18 days 17 hours. 133/600 of that is about 4 days and 4 hours.

The only part of that block that didn't get any reward was the first 96%

So there are 2 blatantly obvious lies in your post. The 133% and the Zero reward.

Miners on the NYA node have all reconnected and are failing back.

Ah OK, weird that it was hashing at 4.5Th instead of the normal 14Th. I have three pools set as failovers but I guess it didn't like something.

Interesting... I didn't notice that 300 users drop-off, but they must've been small since the pool graph looks like we've almost recovered from the recent restart and failover--not blaming anything on that, per se, so don't take that wrong.

One thing I've wondered but not been able to prove is that when these restarts take place that some less committed, shall we say, miners just stay at their failover pools and/or try somewhere else for a while. I'm not saying that makes sense because they would obviously ramp down once they've left and have to ramp back up once they rejoin. Maybe they just consider any ramp-down payouts as a bonus to the daily crumbs, er, payouts they left for anyway.

Some of the proxies are pretty bad handling that (ckpool proxy included)
They don't always switch back automatically.
Though I think ckpool proxy got fixed after people complained about it for something like a year ... though they'd of course have to upgrade their setup.

The other possibility is that they were hiding using rentals through a proxy and rentals usually drop off after a reconnect.
When I get time, I'll go through the list of usernames that dropped off and check them closely - it's pretty easy to tell when someone is doing that, if you already suspect it.

I have the user count per minute if you need it Kano (not sure if you archive that or not).  Looks like the change was during the hour starting 2018-02-23 23:00:05 UTC/GMT we had a high user count of 1425 and a low of 1156.  That would be the time to focus your attention.  If you need more granular info, pm me.
