Interesting coin, think there is a good market for this so grabbed a little .. is it me or are they dirt cheap atm?  

Yeah this is probably a good time to buy in if you are a long term investor, at least I think so. Minimal risk at least at this point to get a decent stake in this thing. Notice the wall of buyers on bter below this price just waiting to pounce.

Everybody's putting their chunky buys in at sub-100 levels, wanting 1 and 2 million Bay for 9x.

But the sub 150 liquidity keeps drying up.

I mean there's 17BTC worth of sells needed to push it down by 50 sats but only 5 needed to push it up by 50.

Also, the sub-100 Bay millionaire hopefulls don't seem to realise that the 4-hour chart has worked its way through the last few day's correction and is now stable and crossing to the upside. The selling momentum is done and that combined with the progressive drying up of liquidity means that if you now want to become a Bay millionaire below 100 - dream on.



If you want your million below 150 then start buying now. There's about 4 million left. The 4 hour chart only returns every 4-7 days and the next time is comes around people will be doing smart contracts, bugs will be fixed and coins will be in stronger hands.

Hey guys question:

     Ive downloaded the new smart contract wallet and Ive opened it and let it synchronize but my bitbay balance remains zero. so i tried opening new wallet but it asks to open keys which i believe has to do with the smart contracts part of the wallet. I have also noticed the address at the top where it says my bit bay address is different than any address from my BitBay-Manual-1.0.0.1 wallet.
is this because
A: I downloaded and used the manual wallet instead of the installer and thus not in the right directory, although i have not changed anything.

B: Do i have to send my coins from old wallet to the new wallet? Although i haven't read where anyone else has had to do this

You need to make a new wallet. Your wallet is definitely NOT wallet.dat.

Your wallet is a pair of two keys. The halo system is the worlds most secure wallet and the two keys can have separate passwords be stored in separate places etc. Just when you make the new keys (file/new wallet) just make sure you back them both up. There is a backup option once made.

Your new wallet will load and you can send however many coins you want to it.

Yeah their contract system is not good at all. Its prone to so many security holes. For example, since there is no time limit, what happens if i never agree?!? I can just keep asking for money until you give it to me.

There is no advance transactions such as a bomb and no anti-malleability. (And no, you cant sign the bomb after, that is a hack job way of doing it the other person can refuse to sign and still extort, you have to sign it before)

Deleting the keys wont work either. Clients have to back up the keys to prevent hard drive failures.

There is a reason Halo took me so long and there is a reason nobody had done smart contracts before Halo. There were reasons his super basic single transaction escrow is avoided.

Its not a real smart contract system. Smart contracts have enforceable advanced commitments.

Also, how do they keep drugs off the bitmessage markets?
How do they ensure performance of bitmessage?
how do they prevent ASICs from attacking bitmessage?
How do they prevent bloat?

They would need a whitelisting system and a server to fall back on to solve those bitmessage issues



Its going to take a very long time for another company to do a true Halo system. Otherwise they will be riddled with security holes and i havent even gotten started.

But still its a refreshing breath of fresh air. Other people get inspired and that is the sincerest form of flattery.

I installed each wallet on a different computer. I wouldn't recommend installing both on the same computer just to be safe, but I don't know for certain. I would do it the way you are suggesting if you only have one computer available.

I have run bitmarkets (mac only it appears) and it is clearly in the very early stages. There's exactly one listing there that I can see. Having said that, Bitmarkets to me just validates the need and desire for the bitbay coin and market.

I can only speak for myself, an investor in bitbay, and not for anyone else here, but to me these decentralized marketplaces are very much needed as a response to Onymous because the TOR darknets no longer feel like a safe place for buyers and vendors alike.

The centralization of the servers in the TOR network is a big issue, but that is not the only big issue. Clearly bitcoin is not anonymous enough. Vendors are having to run coins through mixers such as bitcoin fog or grams and losing percentage points just to feel any safety whatsoever with bitcoin. This risk is not alleviated with bitmarkets. Bitcoin will always be insecure for transactions that require absolute anonymity. However, the Bitbay coin addresses this.

So to me bitmarkets is a inferior solution to the same problem, one that will bring incredible riches to whoever solves it in a workable way. And honestly openbazaar came before anything and that has had slow adoption because its technology doesn't quite seem up to snuff yet. These things have to be super simple, easy to install and just work to be adopted by the masses. (Think Bittorrent).

To the victor goes the spoils and we will see which solution is the best soon enough.

Yeah, I personally will not touch my purchased coin for at least one to two years. This is a long term project and investment for sure!

Price is good now to get in if you want to get in at the ground floor but only if you are comfortable with losing your entire investment. (Just my personal opinion here).

Possibly. Until it's being done in practice it's just theory to me tho. Best way to invest I think is try to identify the projects with the best potential solution to the darknet problem and try to invest a little in each. Spread the risk that way. It's not like buying a sizable chuck of these coins (.1%+) is expensive or anything.

That suspiciously looks like about the time bay started selling for sub-100 prices.

The ico i belive raised 1300 btcs   by  the times 550 million bays were sold.
The remaining 450 billion were supposed to be burnt .. but they werent ..
