what are some of the most popular online payment systems in Malaysia/Singapore region?

I mean something like alipay.
I would say PayPal and MOLpoints in this case.

AFAIK, it's more suited for person-to-merchant transactions, much like UKash is.

Was thinking of moving to Malaysia (or South Asia) if BTC keeps going up like this. Should've tried it years ago, though. I hear that Malaysia is a mainly Muslim country, though; is everything closed on Fridays? Smiley

Not everything is closed on Fridays..that applies only to the Middle East (UAE, Saudi, Dubai).
I stay in Kuala Lumpur area. You can still get a beer on Friday lunchtime.

Wait, has someone managed to verify their authenticity so far? As far as I know, they've been accepting reservations up to the thousands without any payment required upfront (*cough* BFL *cough*).

Anyway, let me know if you have a certain plan to get one. Kind of interested here.

Sigh... somehow or rather, the recent events are making it hard for Malaysians to obtain bitcoins. First, Liberty Reserve got shut down & it was one of the easiest way to fund Mt.Gox. Forget Dwolla since they're only available in the US.

Then today I just received an email from PayPal saying that they're removing the personal payment function for Malaysian accounts. This spells the end of the days where I can just simply hop onto bitcoin-otc & trade my PPUSD for BTC. Sad

@ninjaboon: You've heard this in our Whatsapp group where I ranted about it. Sad

P.S. And oh, Mt.Gox just released a press statement. Apparently OKPay will stop doing transactions to & from bitcoin exchanges. *facepalm*

There's such a group?  Grin Any new openings? I might want to buy/sell bitcoins here in Malaysia, for local bank transfer if possible.
