That is very much true, the problem is of course that all their clients were under the impression that their bank would get a bailout, no matter what. It's a first though that this bailout is financed by the clients of the bank itself. ...
Not true at all. The EU/IMF have illegally promoted the senior bondholders above the depositors. Losses should be carried by shareholders, junior then senior bondholders, then depositors. If these banks were bankrupted properly then maybe the depositors would lose nothing. The rule of bankruptcy law is treated sh*t in most Western countries since the credit crisis began. That is what is kiling the system - because capitalism can only work if bankruptcy law is sacrosanct. You certainly have a point there, I was not aware that in this case the shareholders and the bondholders got away that easy. However, given the debt these banks have it was perhaps inevitable that the depositors got away without a loss. I agree with you that the main problem is that banks aren't allowed to go bankrupt, as they should. The great thing about capitalism is that it has so much in common with the way natural selection works, those who are most able to adapt survive. They can and will ALWAYS be able to bail out the banks, they can just print enough money into existence to bail them out.... where the hole thing falls apart is when they do this so much that people start to lose faith in the $, find an alternative and stop using dollars... ( easier said then done )
The US has loaned out ALOT of its money to other counties, and is now continually inflating their money supply, if china wants to sell all their USD the USD will be totally worthless over night.... China is holding Trillions of $ and they do not want to see them go to 0 value so they will hold their dollars, forever. Every country owes money to each other and will hold these BS IOUs , forever. What is happening now, is everyone is realizing they should be doing like US and printing money like mad fools. and that is what the "currency wars" are all about.
We the little people at the bottom will suffer big time if we do not protect our self's...
Central banks are able to create immense amounts of wealth by simply printing money and we have become pretty much accustomed to this system as an inflation rate of a few percent is considered healthy. With the emergence of Bitcoin and the ease with which people are able to swap their inflating fiat for a sound and reliable decentralized currency, this era may be coming to an end.

This thread should convert to an IRC-channel. +1 But, but how do you embed wall images (and more interesting images) in IRC? Well, another thought would be to just embedd an IRC or livechat interface onto a site such as bitcoinity. The more elegant solution would be to have a normal IRC and a public dumping place for the images with a bot announcing new images placed in the folder and posting a link to the image.

My main point was that the kind of "semi live" conversation that takes place here would be better to have on IRC. Especially during heavy action on the market.

I think you accidentally linked the wrong page. Your link is about stocks. its all about buy/ask. doesn matter if it stock or bitcoin Exactly, that's why the manipulators would not give you the chance to pick up bitcoins at teens. Even as a bull I would not dream of taking a handsome profit and buying back more cheap coins all at the same time, it ain't boxing day yet.

IRC is awful. Than make something better, because it seems to work pretty well for it's hundreds of millions of users.

Live chat works fine until you hit a certain number of people, similar to roads. Seems to me IRC handles high posting speeds better than the internet forum. Internet forum: 777 pages, each post is vertically huge. IRC: thousands of lines, each post is 1em high.
