The irony of this situation is that if it were easier to move fiat to the various exchanges through the legacy banking system, there wouldn't be any problem at all.
Yeah it is frustrating to be unable to buy. I see no way to get funds to any exchange unfortunately. Really? You don't have any of those new-fangled bitcoin things? I've heard the whole point is you can move them around the world without restriction and instantly. Just move them to say bitcoin-24, sell them and bang, you're off. This only doesn't work if you think the rate has completely bottomed. Do you think that? I don't know. As I said, I want to buy more coins, not sell and risk losing them.

I bought most of my BTC from a person-to-person trade.
And he got shut down by his bank shortly after I made the trade. Bitcoin needs to evolve more of its trade ecosystem. The events of the last few days were things getting ahead of themselves.

This is not some pseudoeconomic post-modern Libertarian cult, it's an un-led, crowd-sourced mega startup organized around mutual self-interest where problems, whether of the theoretical or purely practical variety, are treated as temporary and, ultimately, solvable. Censorship of e-gold was easy. Censorship of Bitcoin will be… entertaining.

You know whats funny?
When MtGox opens, they will prove everyone why they're the leading exchange. All those coins traded at other exchanged will be poured into MtGox. Once again its the market mover!

Virtex leaded the price for the last month or so.. The end of Gox as the lead exchange has begun ! 105-110 on virtex... MtGox's price should get arround the virtex price soon after trading re-enabled.. usually 5% lower than virtex..

Virtex leaded the price for the last month or so.. The end of Gox as the lead exchange has begun ! Prices might be higher, and Gox kind of catches up a bit, but if Gox moves down, the others move down, if gox moves up, the others move up. They also have all the volume. This is why it is unfortunate and disappointing they have always been playing catch up with their systems. They never appear to fix the problem before it is a problem. Every decision seems to come a little too late. But at least they are making the right decision now and apparently upgrading the hell out of their platform.

Look at what Gox crash does to all other exchanges.... now you start thinking the opposite?
