Its fighting hard to keep the 90-ish level.
When US wakes up, the barrages could fall..

How Ripple Rips you: "The founders of Ripple Labs created 100 billion XRP at Ripple's inception. No more can be created according to the rules of the Ripple protocol. Of the 100 billion created, 20 billion XRP were retained by the creators, seeders, venture capital companies and other founders. The remaining 80 billion were given to Ripple Labs. Ripple Labs intends to distribute and sell 55 of that 80 billion XRP to users and strategic partners. Ripple Labs also had a giveaway of under 200 million XRP (0.002% of all XRP) via World Community Grid that was later discontinued.[29] Ripple Labs will retain the remaining 25 billion"

OK, I'm off to bed. You chaps have this all sorted out for the morning, OK?

It's been fun but I have to maintain perspective. I'm in this for the long haul. I'd just about done buying coins at the crazy prices they were reaching but if they keep dropping, I'll definitely be buying up more (I actually picked up 1/2 a bitcoin in this mess so I figure I'm ahead). This may have been bad for Bitcoin short-term but no doubt the attention means wheels have been set in motion. I remain a long-term bull. For the longest time...

I leave you with a quote...

Quote
Listen, lad, I built this kingdom up from nothing. All I had when I started was swamp ... other kings said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same ... just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So I built a another one ... that sank into the swamp. I built another one ... That fell over and THEN sank into the swamp .... So I built another ... and that stayed up. ... And that's what your gonna get, lad: the most powerful kingdom in this island.

So, looking back at the past three days, what has changed?

  • The protocol itself is still doing fine, nothing to report there
  • This whole thing is a PR disaster, although so far it doesn't seem too bad
  • Everybody is aware we need better infrastructure and much effort is currently being undertaken in creating this
  • In fact, even the fuck ups at MtGox seem to be doing better
  • Many people lost their confidence and turned bear overnight, but hey, human psychology is a bitch ain't it?
  • We are back at prices not seen since late March
  • This will be for the better long term, the industry will come out stronger

Certainly feels like a bunch of weak hands being mowed down at 80-90ish just now.

Have you  thought about making a thread just for this zedicus? Maybe come up with something we can all send MtGox. I'm sure a lot of people, including me, would support it.

It's funny how on the news this morning they displayed the following text in the bottom of the screen.

"Bitcoin is victim of its own success"

I wonder where they got that quote from?  Roll Eyes
And its actually something negative turned into something positive.
Didn't expect that to see this on the mainstream news after the crash.

Yeah, apparently Bitcoins reputation was so bad to begin with, the press actually isn't surprised at all this shit happening.

here's some short term bullish news:  Clark moody is showing bids above 5 to be 411k coins! (I just use 5 because that was a long period of stability).  This is the by far the highest I've ever seen it. Typical values for this stat is half that, 200 to 240k coins... so people may have sold, but they didn't cash out -- many are clearly looking to get back in at a lower position.
