here's some short term bullish news:  Clark moody is showing bids above 5 to be 411k coins! (I just use 5 because that was a long period of stability).  This is the by far the highest I've ever seen it. Typical values for this stat is half that, 200 to 240k coins... so people may have sold, but they didn't cash out -- many are clearly looking to get back in at a lower position.

Just now at Coinbase "Note! We've exceeded our normal buy limits for today. If you would still like to purchase you will receive the market price of bitcoin on Wednesday Apr 17, 2013 at 01:03AM PDT after your funds have arrived."

also.. "Sorry, the maximum number of purchases on Coinbase has been reached. This is a 24 hour rolling limit with no specific start time. Please try again later. We'll continue raising this limit over time."

So it looks like not many bitcoins being dumped at coinbase at the moment.

I think a lot of people are looking for ways to panic buy right now. The prices are good. Personally I think buying below $100 is a fabulous long term entry point.

Apologies if this has been posted recently - simply too many posts to even attempt to play catchup!

Fascinating to me.  Ask sum on a steep climb again is positive news but I don't think we can claim to be out of the woods until the bears representing the record ask sum decide to take a substantial amount of it off the order book to ambush the bulls at a higher price.  My suspicion looking at the market since MtGox reopened is that it won't take that much longer for the jittery fingers on the sell button to calm down and relax a bit.  That's my projection anyways Smiley

If you have a machine on 24/7 why not have a full Bitcoin client running on it to support the network?

It seems you are in the wrong place my friend. You are surrounded by greedy people here, perhaps it would be best for all of us if you start looking for a hangout where greed is frowned upon.

Got out now with a loss of 30.000 USD at 93$ (yeah, too late, i know).
Stupid me, got out at 120 $ before and reinvested on the run up, my fault. Oh, and the biggest mistake was not selling the bull trap at 180$. Fuck hope.

Waiting for it to settle down.

As long as the hourly averages (that's the lines on clark moody, now at 113 $ and 130 $) don't get crossed back up, it's not advisable to buy. After this weekend maybe. Or next month.
