If you sign in to nastyfans.org you will notice some changes. I grow menu items so that mobile devices should navigate easier. I also add basic integration of NastyPool. This is a new "mining" menu item. It shows the current NastyPool hashrate. If you are mining on NastyPool and register your address with nastyfans then it shows your hashrate also.

The NastyPool integration is very basic now. There are many features coming. But I decide to post new minor versions and release minor individual features. This way we can maybe shake out bugs as we go.

Since NastyPool integration starts I receive private messages from members concerned about privacy. Perhaps they are scared when they hear the word "signed" and think this means privacy invasion. Bitcoin signing is key to all Bitcoin activity and is the normal method of proving you have the private key. As example: when you spend Bitcoin you sign your transactions.

I want to post some facts to maybe help clear concerns.

1. It is not necessary to be a member of nastyfans or register your NastyPool address. Unregistered NastyPool addresses will receive 100% of their Bitcoin mining reward. NastyPool is and will continue as a public P2Pool node using unmodified P2Pool server software.

2. nastyfans members that register a NastyPool address will have a custom pool interface and receive special bonus points for the P2Pool shares they mine. The bonus points will be useful for future nastyfans features. This is a extra benefit for members and does not affect unregistered NastyPool miners in any way.

3. It is possible to be a nastyfans member and registered NastyPool miner anonymously. Anyone that does not understand this is not using Bitcoin or nastyfans or NastyPool anonymously anyway.

I just voted to keep the donations to OgNasty at 75%.
The reason being is that it allows for faster repayment of debt which makes it easier for him to secure new funding for future projects.

Can some one check the pool? ... been noticing that my miners have been failing over off and on again since the weekend. Unless this expected maintenance (be nice to be notified JIC) think that you might have that "bug" back again.

The P2Pool node runs without any problems the last several weeks. Today I restart P2Pool node after OpenSSL update. But otherwise there are no problems on server side.

I have scripts running to monitor P2Pool connections to handle connection-DOS. But this is not triggered since original instance. Does your miner report errors? What are they?

Extra info: The main server handling nastyfans Bitcoin transactions runs Debian 6 (squeeze) and was not vulnerable to recent OpenSSL bug.

If I wanted to get in on the pool, what do you guys suggest for mining on a budget?  Currently only handling with GPU's, sold the jalepeno and Bitfurys to get a house, now wish I could have both!

Policy changed when 75% reached. This happens before last distribution. Last distribution used 50/50 donation split.

I should have a couple working boards in the office tomorrow morning, hopefully I will have something up for demo by the evening time.

I don't want to let any cats out of bags just yet, but the initial reports on power usage on the RevB are apparently even better than our best estimates. If the power is what we are seeing in the lab on an actual board, there's going to be some mighty happy people in the near future. I'm not counting the chickens until I have a board in my hand and a kill-a-watt plugged into the wall, though... so keeping fingers crossed.

Looks like we should be hearing some good news soon.
