Seasons Greetings to our Bean Family!

I want to encourage our community to expand and break out into other Social media, and to spread awareness of BitBean. Please post your ideas on this thread:  http://www.bitbean.org/forum/seasons-greetings-and-update

Also I invite you to participate here:  https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3xznh2/can_someone_please_provide_a_basic_summary_on_the/

and especially here:  https://www.reddit.com/r/BitBean/

This is a community project to expand our Social media outlets and spread the word about BitBean!

I would also like to repost from our Twitter recent events in relation to Cryptsy:

https://twitter.com/BitBeanCoin/status/678679531524370432

https://twitter.com/BitBeanCoin/status/678680790495068160

Cheers and wishing a very happy holiday to all our Bean Family!

Sincerely,

Shawn Kent (aka Bitbeaner)

P.S. Development work is continuing behind the scenes for BitBean. Bean Core has a long-term vision for BitBean, and it is being developed to be an enterprise-level, long-term crypto-currency. We're not going anywhere! This is not a get-rich quick scheme. If you are new to Bitbean, plan on investing for a minimum of a year. It took Bitcoin many years to get where it is..with a much bigger community and resources.  We have a long-term vision, and no-matter what the current market price is, work is being done daily and progress continues...

I want to express my appreciation for the many Beaners who are standing strong behind Bitbean, and who have a vested interest to see it succeed in the marketplace!

On the money advice.  As we head into 2016 don't be expecting to be rich before June.  x10 returns (or more) are very possible but it will take patients and up to 3 years of investing before shifting to selling off stacks of beans ... but as long as the network and markets are live then more less Beans is at rock bottom range ... my best advice is to buy $1 of beans per day over the next 24-36 months.  You will be well served.

Thank you! We have a graphic designer within the Bean Core team.

I would like to point out that the Mac wallet requires Mac OS X 10.7 or greater (64-bit). Bean Core will be publishing a build for older Mac OS systems (< 10.7 non PowerPC) in the near term.

Hope you have a great holiday and are able to spend time with your family! "Family First" is a key-value of Beaners. Merry Christmas!

Hi, welcome to Team Bean.

Yes, PoS (we call it "Proof of Sprout" aka "Proof of Stake"). Beans will be available to compete with other sprouting beans on the network after they mature. It takes approximately 6hrs. to mature. When a BitBean sprouts, the Beans in that sprouting block are split in two and 500 new BitBeans added to each of the two new blocks. There are simply too many variables to calculate when you will have a sprouting block of Beans. You could check here for an idea of what to expect:  https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bitb/#!extraction

PoW ("Proof of Work" ended at block 10,000. There are no more PoW blocks to mine for BitBean. BitBean is a pure PoS "Proof of Sprout" crypto now. PoTS "Proof of Transaction Sprouts" will be added in v2.0 This will allow smaller wallets to have a more active role in maintaining the network and be awarded new sprouted BitBeans!

Donations are much appreciated to help fund projects that Bean Core is engaged with. Here is a brief overview of some current financial commitments:

As well, all development for this project is being done on a voluntary basis. It is always encouraging when the community gets actively involved.

I do think the coin control feature is probably the most important development.  With that added we will know very easily how big our transactions are, if we need to combine or split transactions and how many transactions staking we have, right now the only indication is the stake weight which is crude at best as an indication of how often you will stake.  Definitely hope to see that come out soon.

Hi Beaners,

The coin control feature for the Bean is the same manual option that most other coins use. This needs to be selected in the
options on the wallet then you will be able to access the blocking of your Beans in your wallet. The larger the block sizes
you have, the longer you will have to wait to get a stake in my experience. I personally keep reblocking the Beans that are
below 2k into a single block of 8k up to 24k through coin control.

- copy your wallet address by going the 'Receive Beans'
- select your wallet address and press copy
- Go into 'Send Beans'
- select 'custom change address'
- paste your address into the field provided
- paste it again into the 'Pay To' field
- press the 'Input' button'
- select your smallest blocks to double the amount of your required block size, press 'OK'
- put you desired block size into the 'Amount' field' and 'Send'

In 'Transactions' it should show a 'send to yourself', once accepted you should see two new blocks through 'coin control'. Repeat
until all your low blocks have been resized. Don't forget to unlock for staking when you have finished.

Hope this helps.
