Where is the 10th of July announcement?

This was posted on the 10th.

As anyone who attended last August's IPO skype camera meeting could tell, I'm not in the photo. Smiley

But in all seriousness, I'm a bit disappointed that there hasn't been word on the half-blades....It'd be a good time to know how to read Chinese characters I think.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

He did not announce anything yesterday, it was assumed he was going to.  I am hoping we hear something today

I don't know who started the rumor of "an announcement to be made 10th of July", but it certainly was never said by friedcat himself. Only thing he has mentioned, is that hardware will be in stock "in the beginning of July". That deadline seems to be running out, but it also seems like he has delivered on the promise without actually making an announcement here, because the USB miners are already in stock.

He might be waiting for the Blades to make an announcement. Or perhaps decided that announcements are for chumps, and he'll just deal directly with the distributors without making announcements to his fan club in here.

He responded to the questions organized by ThickAsThieves, ianp, VJain, and Franktank:

I'm assuming the next update will come when they are ready to announce the new blades for sale. I thought it might have been coming yesterday, but I'm sure it will be soon.

Thank you for the answers.

I suppose there's nothing important to say. Slightly annoying after several weeks, but it's just my opinion.

I tend to appreciate people who keep their cakeholes closed unless they have something useful to say.

It makes what they do have to say somehow seem more valuable. I am sure FC will give an announcement when he has something substantial to say. No news really does mean no news most of the time.

Yes he probably thinks that because his company was one of the best investments in the history of mankind he can deviate slightly from the scheduled Thursday updates and only post when he has something important to say, and everyone will still be happy.

He must not know the Bitcoin community very well.  Roll Eyes  Grin  Grin

We're still around 25% returns on ASICMINER-PT...
As we get closer to what traditional investors and investments can get, will those investors require more data and transparency?

Is there a reason virtual markets would be willing to shoulder more risk for equal or less returns than traditional markets?

New ASICMINER Weekly Write-Up!  This time instead of posting directly in the thread, I am writing and hosting it on a Google doc.  This way I can format things better, add a table of contents for older posts... all sorts of nice things.

If this helps you, please remember to donate!

I would suggest using a more understandable date format, the "mm/dd/yyyy" is quite insane to anyone who is not used to it.
If you do not want to switch to "dd/mm/yyyy" that would be understandable, but there are alternatives, such as "yyyy/mm/dd", or at worst "mon dd yyyy" (i.e. the months in letters instead of numbers).

yyyy-mm-dd is the ISO standard. Smiley

ISO standard it is!  Thank you for correcting my american bias!

The other consideration is the ordering of the posts.  Initially people only care about the most recent post... but later people coming to this may want to read them all.

Do I a) keep it in reverse chronological order b) order them chronologically c) have the most recent one first, then chronologically or d) Some other option I have yet to consider.

Also, Thank you for the donations!  I will be forwarding some/using them in part to fund my donations of SimG and Runeks for their awesome charts.

Finally, honestly all suggestions are welcome.  I want this to be a good resource, and for that to be so I need people to double check I got my info right, or mention things I may not have considered.  For example someone suggested making sure to get negative news in there, not just the biased positive news.  I realized I was being a huge fanboy and corrected that this week.

I appreciate that : )

I'd put the oldest first.

That's because if you are a new reader and want to read them in order, scrolling upwards is very bad, especially if posts are more than 1 page long.

Vice-versa, if you put oldest first, people can just click the link pointing to the new post and reach it without hassle.

Last report is the most important so I think it should be the very first link on index page.
However if You insist on chronological order then last report first with bold font, followed by all previous reports.

Example 1:
Code:
[b]Current report 2013-07-10[/b]
Previous report 2013-06-30
Previous report 2013-06-23
Previous report 2013-06-16

Example 2:
Code:
[b]Current Report 2013-07-10[/b]
Previous report 2013-06-16
Previous report 2013-06-23
Previous report 2013-06-30

25% in stock price would be an awesome year for a traditional investor.  25% in dividends plus whatever the price of AM shares has gone up would be an insane return.  What did you think traditional investors usually make?  What does your portfolio look like so that I can copy it?
