Im sorry i dont find the time anymore to read 20 or 30 pages each week in this thread so can someone tell me whats the status for hardware selling? I believe friedcat only sells erupter usb but not erupter blades now right? Whats the reason? No hardware available? And when will both products be sold again?

Can it be that friedcat doesnt do status updates anymore?

He doesnt sell the big blades right now. They are in production OR needed to increase the own hasrate.

Hm... i hope friedcat never goes the Yifu-route... to have stress on work and dont take time doing support or inform customers/shareholders. I would prefer not to guess whats going on.

In the near future its possible that big changes happen to AM. Competition comes out, Avalon chips are sent out. That means competition in hashrate, which AM can easily beat, but the hardware selling could take a big hit.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

Friedcat is only selling USB eruptors now for 0.99BTC (or 0.89BTC in quantity over 1000).

The blades were expected around July 10, or even before that, now it looks like it's getting a bit delayed.  We're waiting for friedcat to open the sales any day now.  There will also be half blades alongside normal blades.  According to chinese resellers (who've been accepting preorders for some time already), full blade will be like 18BTC for 10 GH / 70 W, and half blade will be 9BTC for 5 GH / 35 W.

I heard some rumors that this new batch of blades won't be overclockable, hope they are false.

there are too many rumors floating around with the new blades.  I hope FC just jumps in here with an informative update and puts the rumors to rest.

I am truly baffled with how one man can operate a business, post on the forums, answer an endless stream of questions, and fulfill tens or hundreds of share-shuffling requests every week.

Exactly, and also the price I mentioned above may still get adjusted to the lower because of the delay, and probably because resellers could have included shipment and/or additional fee in the price...

Oh sorry, I should stop speculating outside of the Speculation Thread Smiley

I believe friedcat's not alone there.  Certainly he does'nt do all the development, maintenance, production, shipping and management, so he must only be doing public relations stuff.

Oh no, I'm speculating again Smiley

i've been trying to buy USBs for a week, the backorders everywhere (direct, btcguild, group buys) are getting really annoying. As a shareholder, I hope we can ramp up supply soon.

It means they were all bought by resellers who are now selling them on ebay and through other venues.

Which means we could sell so much more... Friedcat, there is a huge demand to satisfy!! Don't let anybody wanting hardware with empty hands! Scale up, nothing to fear!

Mine is on the way from eBay. I payed $152.50 for it with free shipping. Not to bad considering a month ago you'd have to pay more than 2BTC for it when Bitcoin was $120-130. Bitcoin is around $100 again, so if I ordered today I'd have to pay $129.70 including shipping if I ordered from yxt. If BTC reaches $120 again when yxt is restocked I'd pay more than I paid the eBay seller. Plus I have buyer protection. Smiley

Bingo. However, I'm OK with the reduced price given that it's a good balance between setting the prices too high (and giving purchasers a bad taste for bitcoin mining hardware) and leaving some left on the table. It's last gen hardware - it should go at a bit of a discount with new hardware due soon.

I agree with the main idea: if all the current buyers of USB miners right now, can break even in 3~6 months, at that time they would buy again, and even buy more, happily!! If you reach the point where nobody is going to break-even and they'll understand that in few months, even if they just mine "for the fun" they are not going to order more hardware. I prefer to keep prices reasonable, lose 10% short term, and have a huge community of satisfied customers in 6 months buying the next gen items with a happy smile.

There might be room for some price increase.  However, I feel that forcing people to go through resellers will help to build out the distribution network, which will be good for the longer term health of the company.  Dealing directly with small, retail customers is an unnecessary headache for friedcat.

we don't have to raise the price, we just have to maximize profit.

Supply shortages means that we are failing to do that. So either we raise the price, or we increase supply.

It has nothing to do with the resellers, they cant get them either (see btcguild 2-3 week backorder).
