Any chance of other cryptos being supported in the future in addition to BTC?
We have been looking into this, while this is something we would consider it is unlikely to be added in the near future. Thanks - good to know! In case we do decide to add an alt coin, what would you be interested in ? DNotes, NEU, PIGGY, DMD, DVC I'll second PIGGY! Good coin for fun games. :-) I forgot one: XEM. Definitely XEM

Hey, is this thread still alive? Is Aricoin still alive?
I attempted to make a deposit of Aricoin to my Aricoin Pay wallet, and it has not shown up. Did I make a mistake? Is the wallet no longer synced with the block chain?
AricoinPay uses the V2 wallet software running on separate blockchain. DON'T send between Aricoin V1 and V2 blockchains, it will not work. I will publish two more nodes, one for V1 and one for V2 later today. The wallet I used was your Aricoin wallet--the online one. I sent some coins in from Cryptopia. How was I supposed to know there are now two separate block chains or know to check whether exchange and wallet are both on the same one?

But in any case, downloading the entire block chain seems to solve a lot of problems, so good to try when the wallet is acting up.
Do you have a link to where one can grab the blockchain? Thanks, - Nova You should be able to just delete everything inside the blocks folder, and it'll redownload it from the network: C:\users\<you>\AppData\Roaming\Devcoin\blocks That's what I did.

OK, tried to open my wallet this morning and got an error message saying "failed to connect best block." When I click OK, it just closes the wallet loading. What do I do?
Thought it was just me, when setting up my wallet recently. - Nova So how did you get past that? I still have that problem. Wondering if I need to download the entire block chain again or something. I kind of hope not. DVC is an old coin so could take a while... Didn't get past this with the devcoin wallet, yet, wiser. Watching your ticket with interest. Monies riding on it, if you will. - Nova Downloading the entire block chain in the end seems to have solved the problem. I think my previous version of the block chain had gotten corrupted somehow. I didn't think of that at first because, well, when the block chain is corrupted, the error message is different for each type of coin wallet. It took all night, and then in the morning when I checked it was taking forever to get past a particular block. Forget the number but it ended in 71. I closed the wallet and restarted it once. It was still hung up on that block, but I just left the wallet open for quite a while and by the time I got back to it, it had gotten past that block and fully synchronized. I haven't tried to send anything, but as far as I can tell, it's working fine. One thing I did do, because the wallet seemed to have been taking forever to find a block source, was I put the peers file back into my appdata folder. Eventually the wallet did connect, and I'm not sure if that made a difference or not. I'm also not sure if closing and then restarting my wallet when it was stuck on the block ending in 71 made any difference or if it was just going to take a long time to get past that particular block no matter what I did. But in any case, downloading the entire block chain seems to solve a lot of problems, so good to try when the wallet is acting up.

I kind of hope not. DVC is an old coin so could take a while... I did it and honestly it was quite fast only few hours. (I dont know if it will resolve your prob). Well, I deleted everything from the folder except the wallet.dat file and then tried to run the wallet, and still got the same error message. What are the steps you took? EDIT: OK, never mind. I thought I'd done the above but really hadn't. Now the wallet is open and hopefully will connect to a peer soon. EDIT: "No block source available" for longer than I'd expect... EDIT: OK, it's connected and synchronizing. Guess I'll check it in the morning.

In that case, I'm part of the problem. Crazy busy three weeks and didn't get my file uploaded in a timely fashion. I just uploaded it now. Hopefully anyone else procrastinating will do the same. Thanks for the explanation. One of the main requirements for devcoin to function is the hosting of the receiver files. Each time a block is solved a 'call' goes to the receivers so as to determine distribution to recipients addresses. There are 7 receivers hosted and (I believe) that 5 out of 7 need to be hosted for devcoin to work/blocks to proceed. Feel free correct me if I am wrong. I host receivers at http://show-me-the-devcoin.info/devtome/ and am current. Hosting the files is not cheap, or at least wasn't when the big mining pool merge mined dvc. There were so many calls to the receivers I had to upgrade my bandwidth considerably as my site went down. Not sure how it is working now in regards to bandwidth post merge mining with big pools. My site is pretty crap but it's only there for the receiver files. But the achilles heel with dvc is that if the receivers aren't hosted that the blocks won't be solved. Above post mentioned 404's on some of the receivers which suggests they haven't been updated. If it isn't syncing (mine isn't) then most likely the last receiver hasn't been uploaded enough times. The last message to host/upgrade the receivers from Unthinking bit from http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/receiver_59.csv was May 27, and there is a lag until they are required. My guess is that not enough receivers have been uploaded, the lag time has passed, and the blocks aren't being solved.

Hello,
I'm not receiving any shares for several days. I had difficulties to sync with the latest blocks. As it was an old version I updated and added the nodes but it was the same (by downloading the entire blockchain again). Coins in and out seem to work. Yet I'm up to date. Can someone help me there please ?
Regards,
Flam.
I just opened my wallet and found the exact same thing. No mined shares since June 10. What's up?

Just upgraded my wallet to the newest version. Once again, Easiest wallet update ever! Great job

It would really help if he would post updates, but he did say that the site would go offline for a time.

I'd like to know more what DMD 3.0 will be like. My understanding is it will use the NEM backbone? What else will be special about DMD 3.0? Please share what you feel you can share at this point

I agree with the clean up the thread part. I'd like to have new people who are curious about DMD not be turned off when they see the thread...

The Alcurex market seems to have dried up, and SafeCex is basically offline (or at least a lot of its wallets are offline) for the foreseeable future. Vircurex is no longer taking deposits. Are there any other exchanges that carry Devcoin?
I've been using BTER since vircurex died to pay for dvccountdown hosting. First convert dvc to cny, then cny to btc, fairly painless, but a bit harder to know if you're getting a good deal. It's got a good UI, not sure how stable they are. Don't keep anything on the exchange if you don't trust it. HB Thanks for the tip

Currently DMD is in decline in my opinion That may be a true assessment, at least if you're going by price. This has probably been asked before, but wondering what the plans are to address this? Edit: Because as long as there's a plan and a vision, it really doesn't matter what the price is or what others say. I know there's a lot going on on the technical side, but the part I am not aware of are the plans for wider adoption.

It is apparent that the high level of interest to use blockchain technology will continue. Although, I am skeptical if a lot of blockchain projects are justifiable business models, investment in this space will not likely to slow down. The urge to be “me too’ is just too tempting when there is so much press about the subject. From our prospective, sometimes, it’s better to wait a little and let the dust settles so that we can see more clearly. Our R & D will kick into high gears the 2nd half of this year.
Being willing to wait is one of the many good things that sets DNotes apart
