1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $WHACKD - RIP John McAfee on: July 05, 2021, 05:58:27 PM
The death of McAfee came as a shock to many people including me am sure, even though death is inevitable  but when it happens to someone you know (even from a distance) always left you feeling sad, John will be miss for his advocate for freedom (financial freedom), he may not be the best in the crypto space but he was very daring, that being said, probably a co-owner of the project is the one pumping the price of this project after McAfee's death, I have only learned about his death here in forum so I haven't read any article with detailed explanation of what happened to the great McAfee, if it is true ha faked his death or not, but isn't that a punishable offence!
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happen if US ban cryptocurrencies? on: July 05, 2021, 03:04:35 AM
Just think of this, if they have planned all banning cryptocurrency, Bitcoin already here since 2010, more than 10 years, why they still don't ban it can't ban it? Very impossible. It's far from possible for now, as time goes by and without strong aw against cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency will stay.
They will just more become strict on "some" cryptocurrency, always remember that most of cryptocurrencies (altcoins) out there are shitcoins or scams!

Nothing is impossible, besides 10 years is not such a long time to determine whether a government will have consideration over a particular sector or not, assuming it is something they are considering it will take time but they will eventually come to a definite conclusion,  right now the government of us have not really given a full consent for crypto operations despite the strict laws governing it, so I wouldn't say it is impossible, rather let's hope they have no reason whatsoever to do so, China who is constantly banning btc have been in btc for years and has the most miners, yet they are undecided what to do.
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I made a Stupid newibie mistake and maybe i lose my SHIB (Help) on: July 05, 2021, 02:44:50 AM
Thank you again for your support guys, and yes, I just learn a valuable lesson here.

I am just new in the amazing world and I want to learn as much as possible about it, so I will try to keep myself active on the forum.

It happens to even those who already had some years of experience in crypto, it is called mistake which no human is above, newbie or not, similar case happened to me just 2 days ago,  I mistakenly send some busd to my binance usdt wallet, when I realised my mistake it was already too late, transaction already successful, thought I lost my coins but somehow (strangely) I got notification deposit was successful, couldn't believe it but was glad though, as humans we are bound to make mistakes. Glad you are able to receive your coins back with help of the forum members.
1004  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should we do in the sideways market of Bitcoin? on: July 04, 2021, 12:47:39 PM
That is if you have a long-term vision. If you believe that Bitcoin has a great future because of its intrinsic properties and what it can bring to the future of humanity, in a sideways market you simply have to keep buying. The prices now, in a cycle or two are going to look like a bargain.

Exactly, but many people are emotional traders and can not stand to see price dip, we have many short term than long term investors reason why we are in this present state, long term goal is only in theory and not in practice for many, anyone who believe btc will break this current price will not be too worried instead they accumulate as much as they are able,  opportunities like this eliminate the chance of making such "is it too late to buy post" when btc is on a bull market.
1005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee is dead, are his coins lost? on: July 04, 2021, 12:33:50 PM
Perhaps he has some relatives or his wife who have knowledge about his crypto activities, John McAfee was a smart guy and must have taken care of things like that during his lifetime, I still can't believe the guy is dead, as much as many dislike his kind of person he still did among those who push crypto awareness and promote it in his own way without any fear, I doubt John will let his crypto assets waste away like a lost treasure without hinting any close relatives or friends.
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC and ETH price are too high. Better invest in alt coins like ADA, DOT, MATIC on: July 04, 2021, 04:08:43 AM
I see the price of BTC is too high $39,000/BTC.  It takes very long for BTC to get $100,000.  ETH price is $2800/ETC and the ETH market cap is $330 million.  It takes a lot of money to double the price of ETH.  I see some alternative network like ADA, DOT, MATIC (Polygon), LINK having lower price.  It is easier to double money.  I missed the price of BTC at $1000 or ETH at $100.  I want to buy and DCA (Dollar Cost Average) for ADA at $1.75 in a couple months.  So later I can have 10,000 ADA and hopefully the price will be $100/ADA in a couple years then I will be a millionaire.  What do you think?  Thanks.

I completely get what you mean, even though btc is predicted to go higher in years to come it is still under probability, the market is unpredictable and as a btc holder you must be very patience especially if you didn't buy btc below 20k, except you are a whale and can afford to put huge fund, it will be hard to be a millionaire with few btc, so good alternatives like ada, dot matic etc can be a better consideration with a low budget investor, this coins are very solid and has a strong supporting team as well, they have a good level of trust which their long term existence is guaranteed, it is a good idea to have some ada now while the price is still very reasonable.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most centralized cryptocurrency? on: July 03, 2021, 08:59:16 PM
Whether centralized or decentralized not really matters to most because there is money to be made in a specific time frame or an estimated time, after all the goal of either centralized or decentralized coin in your wallet is to make profit out of it, although having a complete decentralized crypto is much better because that way you won't be face with the chance of exposing your data, or afraid of whatever future uncertainty that may befall the project, nowadays, rug pull is a common practice, and nobody wants to experience such.

1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can the market build an immune system against meddling from influencer like Musk on: June 28, 2021, 03:41:42 PM
I believe it is possible for the market to build an immune system against manipulators, but from my point of view, this is not happening now and it's not going to happen anytime soon, for this to effective work, the crypto market must have grown to a higher level far more than where we are right now, for the crypto market to be atleast 98 percent free from manipulators, we have to have market cap of or close to that of Forex market cap with hundreds of trillions of transactions every day, this way, manipulators will hardly have any effect on the market, this is yet to happen now as some of us here assume, people are simply learning to ignore Elon musk, this does not mean the market is free from manipulators, others can still come in the future and cause the same effect Elon caused on the market.
Remember late John McAfee, he manipulated the market until people started ignoring he's tweet, few years later, Elon musk came and did the same thing McAfee did, soon, Elon will go and someone else might come.

This is a decentralized space which means free entry and exit which also further means everyone can do as they want, that is to say the probability of the market building an immune system to prevent manipulators from taking advantage is very low even thoughit sound interesting, except people are ready to embrace regulations to prevent situations like this, only a regulated space is free from personal sabotage, otherwise this things will continue happening because there is no way the market can control the activities of manipulators, this is hard if not impossible under the current circumstance as a decentralized space.
1011  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: This sh*t ain't for the faint of heart! 😭 on: June 28, 2021, 03:20:00 PM
Y'all going in now or what?!

28k was a good price to go in, relative to where it is now. Meaning, you know it was good when you've long passed it and you're looking down at it. But what'ch'y'all think? Still a good time? Tempted to go all in, not gonna lie.

You will probably never be able to see a good time because you keep thinking this is not a good time let me wait a bit, only when that price has long gone you then realise that  was a good price to buy, am sure at 28k you probably thought it will go below and not the right time but now that the price has passed you have realise it, better to make up your mind and buy what you can because procrastinating it won't help you either, you will get confuse the more and miss good buy in opportunity.
1012  Other / Archival / Re: Why is it a waste of time and money to buy ready-made trading strategies? on: June 28, 2021, 03:38:08 AM
People buy this already made trading strategy for fear of losing money when they go into trading on their own, they feel secure and hope to hit better profit using this strategy but they seem to be forgetting that each trader has their own pattern of trading that works for them, this patter is developed as a result of continuous attempt and months or years of finding them, it is always better to develop this on your own as a trader rather than trying to cut corners to reach your goal,
Best experience is by learning which also includes failing and restarting to eventually get it right, the easy way out will turn out to be a loss of money if further knowledge is not added.
1013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Moving Bitcoin to El Salvador on: June 28, 2021, 01:12:44 AM
I’m sure everybody loves paying taxes, but I am no expert but say with this current drop In price if I moved bitcoin outside of the US and to an El Salvador wallet, would that be saving on the future sale of bitcoin or what would that look like for capital gains?
I’m asking for a friend, I already lost all my bitcoin in a boating accident.

Like what others said, btc wallet don't have a location attached to it differentiating each wallet from one location to another,  best bet is your friend should relocate to El salvasor in other to freely spend his btc if he so desire to avoid paying taxes,
however, am a bit curious how you manage to lose your btc in a boating accident, are you perhaps saying your btc was in a hardware wallet and was with you when you had the accident? Maybe it fell off without you knowing! Just wondering how that happens.
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is GDildo the next Shiba or Safemoon? on: June 27, 2021, 04:05:06 PM
Stay alert, nobody can give you any guarantees with projects even of great quality let alone all this quick money grab type of project, even if you want to take advantage of this hope it will be a temporary thing because you never know what surprise that may occur,  there are too many similar projects lately that is difficult to tell which is worth the trouble.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you have any challenge with Binance p2p on: June 27, 2021, 03:33:48 PM
Hello my first experience on binance p2p is to confirm payment without buy releasing assets to me.
So what is your experience?

If you are a buyer then you are obligated to confirm payment before the seller will release the coins and if you are a seller the buyer must confirm payment and you will also confirm the payment is in your possession before you release the coins, binance serve as an escrow between both parties, I have been a buyer and seller and the experience was smooth, you must always look for sellers or buyers with 80% reviews to trade with to be on a safer side , to be honest I think the p2p service is very easy.
1016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks to allow customers the option of hodling, selling and buying bitcoin on: June 27, 2021, 08:49:15 AM
What views do you have on this?
Adoption is great, but shouldn't come at a cost, the cost of privacy.
Bitcoin was effectively created to give hodlers the freedom banks do not. As a trustless network one did not need a middle man or agency to buy or hold their assets.
Storing a decentralized currency with a centralized agency defeats the purpose and gives the government assess to your assets.

And the truth is adoption won't come without a price to pay, and given up privacy is part of the price to pay, this is inevitable however distasteful it may be, already the privacy thing has been gradually overlooked as a result of the influx of the institutions coming into btc to invest, the moment the financial institutions come on board privacy will become a thing of the past or rather it won't be as private as it should be, but then btc will be well adopted, can't beat them you join them sort of thing.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you make your HODL or dump decisions? on: June 27, 2021, 08:36:26 AM
I've been holding this token called 'SUBX' for a while now, maybe a month. Quite a big bag of it. I'm not sure if I should continue holding or let go and take what i have.

I believe in the project, but it hasn't been doing well in terms of price.
Utility wise, they already have 4 apps released and doing work with universities so I am confident it won't be a rug pull.
Reflections are delicious and community is nice.

But whales that bought during presale got impatient and left, and with the market bleeding past few weeks the price is slowly declining. Team says they are looking long-term with real utility (which they do deliver) but that doesn't directly relate to price does it?

Some words of advice would be really good. Thanks.

Patience is a virtue not everyone possess, for example, those who sold their btc, eth, bnb and so forth because they seem to be tired coz the price at that time was not moving have since regretted their actions, same thing happened with dogecoin, (am just citing an example of not being Patient, it doesn't mean the project you refer will behave same way) but maybe something good will eventually come out of the project long term as long as the team keep developing and expanding,
The decision is yours whether to sell now or hodl and see what the future hold, the market at the moment is not very friendly hence the more reason to hold.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China Has Ordered All Financial Institutions To Cut Crypto -Related Services on: June 27, 2021, 08:26:36 AM
It's not totally correct. China is trying to restrict the use of global decentralized crypto while promoting digital version of it's currency and other regional and tokens. They are also promoting the use of blockchain in everything from agriculture to supply chain.
Even though they are trying to block bitcoin and other crypto, Chinese are still more interested in them. P2P trade are getting more popular in China.

What better way to promote their own than to try by any means necessary to destroy the already existing one, at least now we know what their intentions are, they are not fighting crypto and blockchain per say they are only making way for their own digital currency to flourish, Goodluck to them on this, I hope their idea can only remain within their location because no other country will be interested in their digital currency.
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BitcoinTalk's altcoin section vs. altcoinstalks.com on: June 26, 2021, 02:54:10 AM
There is no need to compare a forum that has been in existence for more than a decade to that which is just few years old, the difference is too big, bitcointalk is the most used and visited crypto forum in the entire crypto space I believe, reason why majority of projects come here to make announcement and seek support for their project, however, altcoinstalks is coming up gradually but it hasn't gotten to that level of comparison yet, I agree there are few projects there same as few bounties but it will take a good amount of time for it to come to bitcointalk level and exposure.
For now it is easy for users to join and rank up since the forum is not as strict as bitcointalk.
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: define what the best cloud mining? on: June 26, 2021, 02:39:33 AM
I didn't know people still do cloud mining,  long time ago I use to visit some cloud mining sites hoping to make something (before crypto was a big part of me) but all I ended up getting was losing my small investment  Grin was never lucky with the few ones I joined, perhaps I didn't join the good or legit ones but I think majority of people who were encounter with cloud mining will say the same,  I would suggest not to waste your time with them except you are most certain about it.
