proudhon is shitting his pants! proudhon being wrong: My unscientific gut feeling is that if we break $6.8 we keep going to $7. That's probably right. I still think $7.20 will provide some significant resistance. There's still a chance $7.20 remains the 2012 high. Awesome, the rally seems to be slowing down, the $6 wall tripled over the last 3 hours.
I'm sure we'll see it grow into the 30,000+ size in the coming days. I don't see the price moving beyond $6 for some time, and I still think there's a good chance we've already seen the 2012 high. $7.2x was the 2012 high. Deal with it.
that boat has sailed and won't be coming back for a long time
I agree. Not this year. I think $7.20 will be the 2012 high.

BUCKLE DOWN MOTHERFUCKERS WE'RE GOING TO $8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can someone point me in the direction of an explanation of how this sort of a graph is read?
Thanks.
If you mean the depth graph, Y-axis is # of coins needed to get to price $X

remember, the dam has already been breeched.
I think it can still be repaired. We need to avoid a flood. If it gets breached again you better remove that bear!

I guess the manipulator had enough of the wall being eaten... up we go! I bet we're going to hit $7.3 this time That's right, no more walls. BUY BUY BUY

I noticed something very ironic about the Bitcoin market. Yesterday, when there was no depth, nothing happened. Indeed, there were more sellers than buyers. I thought it would hit $8 almost instantly, given that there was almost nothing in the way, but nope. Today, there are walls, and the market has gone into what I call "wall-eating mode" again. In the last few hours, buys outnumber sells by a factor of 7, and 8500 BTC of that formidable wall has been eaten. Yesterday I was feeling very bearish after it went nowhere, but today I am feeling better, even though we are trapped under 7.1.
Perhaps it's better to have walls.
When you say, "buys outnumber sells" this can literally be true since every buyer must have a seller. Do you mean what's on the order book? Or are you discriminating between who posted the "wall" (limit order) verses who met it? Buy = limit order matching a standing ask Sell = limit order matching a standing bid

We broke $7.22... Let's wait for the wall to go away and we can go to $7.50. Good luck. I seriously doubt there's another guy out there willing to go through 30,000+BTCs. In all likelihood this marks the end of this rally and we can, hopefully, chill out for a few months. If all those asks are pulled and the market decides to go higher, it's just going to make the inevitable crash all the more spectacular. This guy (re: pirate) stepped in later than I would have liked, but in the long run, it's a good thing he stepped in to cool things off. I'm pretty sure he stepped in quite a few times before this. What makes you think this time is different? edit: Market overheating -> manipulator steps in with 30000 wall -> market calms down -> manipulator takes away wall -> market goes up again -> market overheating -> ...

Proudhon, please don't get rid of the bear, there aren't enough bears around here.
Yeah, I don't think I can. The bear has too strong a hold on me right now, and I feel his grip tightening as the price moves higher. Might sound odd, I know. I love watching that bear, it wouldn't be the same without it. You're actions will be rewarded.

7.2 broken! The real high was $7.22... and we stopped at $7.21. Gonna need to wait a little more

Get ready; we're just $30k away from breaking the $7.22 record.
and when we do...my gaud, stand back. I think the volume is going to start filling back in, and in a big way. Remember, things looked like this when we were knocking up against $7.22, and then very quickly the order booked flipped around and down we went. This craziness is almost making me take 1000 or so bitcoins out of offline storage to sell. Although the order book was lopsided then (though I don't think quite as much as now), remember that price had started from $2 that time. After the second bounce off $2, it was a cautious approach to $4-$5. But when $4-$5 broke, it gapped up to $7. What we're seeing now is a cautious approach to $7, and I expect a big gap up to follow, before any correction. Trends are strong, and this one is still building momentum. I agree. We should be hitting $10 soon
