Cons of going cashless is that we are at the mercy of electricity, one outage in a small town can cripple the economy since it relies mostly on electronic transactions.

You are right to be suspicious because a lot of people on the Internet is going to scam someone if they can get away with it and if they can find gullible people which the Internet has a lot of.
