1041  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: August 10, 2023, 08:10:41 PM
Yes bitcoin price will touch 40k now. And it will go much further than 40K. Bitcoin price is now poised to rise above 40k as Bitcoin price has been hovering around 30k for almost three months now. Moreover almost all of us know that there is going to be a big bull market in bitcoin which will skyrocket the price of bitcoin and it will be worth around 100k. And in this we can easily understand that bitcoin price will touch 40k and go much higher than 40k.
40k mark is definitely a must for Bitcoin especially with the fact showing that it has already touched and surpassed such figure before. the only problem with Bitcoin actually acquiring the 40k mark is that no one actually knows the time for it to climb which creates more curiosity and hope for people who are expecting for it to reach that mark because most anxious crypto enthusiast will know that this particular time is very perfect for buying.

Yeah, we have seen $30,000 already or even $31,000. So for now the biggest challenge that we are looking at $40,000 and it seems very far from now as the price is below still below $30,000 although there are some semblance that we could reach that price again. Nevertheless, price still looks good and maybe we can see some action this month. At least $32,000 could be our first goal this August and maybe we can talk about $40,000 in the last quarter as usually we headed strong that month specially we are anticipating the bull run next year after the halving.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 10, 2023, 07:58:53 PM

Imho, the fact that he was a boxer, does not mean he can be a good coach. Punching people is one thing, but seeing everything (opponent) from different angle, building strategy, planning, training is different.

It's different when you have someone in your corner who's been there and have one everything, Mike can impart some of his skill in the ring but of course, Mike Tyson is different from Ngannou, in Mike Tyson's heydays he has no strategy he just goes there and goes for the kill, he believes that everyone has a plan until they get hit, so if Mike can teach how to throw a more powerful punch and hit the target at the right time, Ngannou has a good chance, checking the poll here it's a close one, but we have a long way to go, and there's plenty of time for Mike to teach Ngannou everything he knows.

Tyson   - 19 (54.3%)
Ngannou   - 16 (45.7%)
Draw   - 0 (0%)
Total Voters: 35

Yeah, a prime Mike Tyson is very scary, but I do think that he trains hard as well during his early days that's why he almost knockout his opponents.

But going back to this fight, he could motivate Francis too and maybe gives one or two pointers on how to throw that devastating knockout if he sees one. Votes though are very close in our community. But if you look at sports bookies, they really favor Tyson Fury and Francis is like 6:1 underdog. So it's just a matter of execution for Francis and he should be aware on how he can preserved his energy for the later rounds.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 10, 2023, 07:45:33 PM
If you believe in Valdez to win, might as well bet on him winning by KO. As per the present odds, it's very attractive at +440.

Already did but the odds is a little bit lower on our local bookies but doesn't matter to me because that 4.80 odds is still a very juicy odds considering that Valdez has a higher chance to win by knockout. Just wonder though why bookies have speculated that this will go the distance even though Navarette was almost KOed in his last fight.

He might have overlook his match against Liam that's why he was almost knockout in that fight. Perhaps he think that he can just go and smothered him. But Liam was strong in the early rounds and scored a knockdown and thought that it was over and there was an upset.

But Navarette comes back strong after that knockdown and sort of wake up. And then Liam started to fade why Navarette continue with this volume punching and has the reach advantage.
1044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 07, 2023, 11:58:41 AM
As per the voting,

Seems that the members are looking for a upset win here? Although the votes are just a small sample size, it was 7 votes on who will win this fight. And surprisingly, the odds maker is putting Valdez as the favorite, but here in our community, Navarette getting the most votes, by KO and by Decision.

Maybe because of his last performance and he showed great skills and strategy no wonder he won that fight. Now his facing one of the great boxer in their weight division and being the underdog will surely gives him motivation to train more and secure a win on this one. I'm also rooting for him to win this and I think it will be by K.O.

Did you know that Navarette went down against his last opponent, he almost got knockout by Liam. So I'm not sure why everyone is rooting for Navarette, maybe we just wanted to see a war and members think that Navarette has the stamina to go and last for full 12 rounds, have his volume punching and then maybe win by decision. But I think Oscar Valdez is too smart to fall for that if Navarette chooses to go all out war. Oscar will used his technical skills to offset or stop Navarette in this track if he becomes aggressive early. But we will see who will outlast this war as we all know that Mexicans fight is a non stop action pack boxing.
1045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 07, 2023, 11:35:29 AM
Anyway, back to the discussion, Spence is already looking forward to contest the fight at 154 and so that is already safe to assume because he also said earlier this week that 147 lbs. division is not working for him anymore.

Good for him, but unfortunately, he might be able to face Crawford again, as the latter is also thinking of moving. So even if Spence will not activate that rematch, both are still going to face each other eventually if they beat the champions in that heavier division. Might as well, Spence would think smart. I mean, activating a rematch will guarantee money, and he just has to be confident he'll be able to even the rivalry between Crawford.

That will be his situation if ever he will choose to the path at 154 and I think he doesn't have that much option to begin with because even if he can still dominate 147 considering that Crawford vacates the division, his weight will probably not make it anymore or he will have a hard time first before he can achieve the much needed weight at 147 pounds. Not much left for him to do except accepting his current fate that he will always be the Number 2 while Crawford is still active to the sport.

Might be even at 154 lbs, Crawford said that Spence punch doesn't have a sting though, but I'm really thinking that he Spence might be really weight drain already at 147 lbs but this is not an excuse. Also if Mickey Garcia can stay with Spence and not getting knockout, then maybe it's true that Spence doesn't have that knockout power. But that's already moot point, we have seen that Crawford has destroyed him and now they want to activate the rematch clause but this time they want it at a weight that he is comfortable. And I don't see Crawford as well having problems making that 154 lbs, it's going to be easy for him. But as what the majority thinks, it could be another beating.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: August 07, 2023, 11:00:42 AM
Yeah, he could be up there with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr as one of the greatest Mexican fighter or at least in the modern era if he wins his 3 fight deal with PBC. However, I don't know if you will agree with me, but it seems that Canelo is on a decline, starting with a lost to Bivol and then his last fight against John Ryder in Mexico, he was not impressive, causing some fans to question if he still has it or not.

So this fight is very important for him, maybe if he is on the decline, he could still win in a narrow score in the judges score card. But if he chooses a taller and natural 168 lbs in Benavidez, it might be his another L, in my opinion.

Isn't Canelo team docking Benavidez?  The main reason is that Canelo team has no confidence that their boxer will win against Benavidez.  They wanted to maintain Canelo being the cash cow and don't want to spoil their means of getting money.  If Canelo fight Benavidez and got KO'ed or got a controversial win, then I believe the popularity of Canelo will suffer and it is obvious that it will affect their cash cow's capability to bring more money .  This is also the reason why they are prioritizing smaller boxer to fight so that they can have a bigger chance of winning and continue to make Canelo their source of huge funds.

For now it looks that way, but there are speculations that the 3 fight deal that he signs with Al Haymon included a fight with David Benavidez, so it's early to call that he docks him. According to Canelo, Benavidez doesn't have any in his resume that interest Canelo to fight for him. But maybe later, or as what the news says, Benavidez is rumoured to be fighting Andrade next.

So maybe if Benavidez win and then Canelo beat Jermell Charlo, they could set up a fight in Mexican Cinco de Mayo next year. So we will see, Canelo is really looking for this big payday fight in his 3 fight deal.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 07, 2023, 10:50:57 AM
Weird. We have more votes for the defending champion Regis Prograis rather than the undisputed champion Devin Haney. Do you guys want to see Devin Haney lose or do you just believe that Regis lands his powerful punches?

I guess fans wanted to see Haney fight, he had established himself as sort of Floyd Mayweather now. He is love but at the same time, many fans wanted him to lose and getting knockout, and as you have said, his fighting style is bored and that fans view that Loma won against him.

Regis had a bad night in his last fight and if he performs the same way again, Haney will have an easy time outboxing him. Still, I believe Regis knows he needs to perform better this time. I won't be surprised if he hits Haney with his signature awkward but powerful punches, this is the only way to beat Haney. If he cannot hurt Haney then he will lose his belt.

But he is the bigger puncher of the two. So if by chance one bombs land on Haney's chin, then maybe he will have a good chance to beat and let Haney taste the canvass for good. And Haney is technical, if he fought a awkward style like Regis has, it won't be that effective.
1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run near already? on: August 06, 2023, 10:58:32 AM
I think bull run doesn't seem to be happening in the near future, even today the market is red again so it touches $28k, of course this makes me not think too short term, the thing that might make a bull run is early 2024 because there will be a halving day.
The halving won't happen in early 2024, it is estimated to occur in April, or maybe May, so that is in the second quarter which can't be considered early in my opinion. Also, we shouldn't really be expecting the bull run to occur directly after the halving event, it will probably take some time after the event, so there will be some patience-testing going on after the halving occurs next year. I'm not really in a hurry, I feel it's better if it happens slowly after the halving.

However, the whole industry is currently waiting for these two things, first the halving, and then the long-anticipated bull run which is expected to take Bitcoin beyond the last all-time high which was $69k. A lot of people are expecting it to cross $100k this time, but we are going to wait and see.

As per history, it will be months before we can see a full blown bull run, so if the halving is around March-May, then at least 3rd quarter of 2024, we might see a slow phase and price starting to pick up.

Last quarter will be interesting, we could be seeing $69,000 being broken, so we will see new all time high. But it's not yet the final run, as we will see that throughout 2025, there will be a huge jump and in the end of that year, we might see 6 digits.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need a privacy coin that can only hide transaction amounts ? on: August 06, 2023, 10:05:59 AM
There are already some privacy coins, such as Monero, but they don't seem to be widely popular. At least not as popular as ETH, LTC.
Is it because privacy is not a necessary requirement? Or are existing privacy coins not good enough?
Or is it because of regulation? Or is it that privacy coins make the public feel that they are always connected to criminal activities?

If a coin only hides the transaction amount, will it be popular?

When I was using Monero, I found that for offline cold wallets, it is a troublesome thing to check the balance. You have to wait for the wallet client to scan a large number of blocks to find all transactions associated with the account. If only the transaction amount is hidden, this problem will be solved.
Of course, this semi-privacy coin is also more friendly to supervision.
Will anyone be willing to use this kind of coin ?

As much as we want to be anonymous with crypto, but I guess that is not even possible right now. Of course there are mixers and privacy centric coins, like Monero, but if you look at them most are being delisted by exchanges because of regulatory pressures.

But if you said that you have Monero then I guess you have to stick with it. Unless what you want could be developed later. However, as I have said, there is regulation around privacy coins that is hard to overcome.

IRS Will Pay Up To $625,000 If You Can Crack Monero, Other Privacy Coins

When the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) signaled that it was getting serious about cryptocurrency, the agency wasn’t kidding. The IRS is now offering cash to anyone who can “reliably produce useful results on a variety of real-world CI cryptocurrency investigations involving Monero and/or Lightning.” That’s right: they are looking for code crackers.

1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Do You Of Think My Predictions On This Multi Bet Ticket ? on: August 06, 2023, 08:51:01 AM
NO RISK NO REWARD!!! I don't follow soccer but I do like a risky parlay now and then. Spend a couple dollars to win something decent. Of course you need a lot of luck, but if you hit it sure is a nice win. Good luck with the bet.

I'm also not into soccer, but yeah why not YOLO?

And with that, any updates on the results though? might be good if the OP can come back and see if he won or not. Nevertheless though, as far as my experience in parlay, it's very difficult to hit specially if you are looking like 5 or more games.

For me, the max that I bet on a parlay in tennis is 5, and my results is just 50-50 if I'm not mistaken.
1051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 06, 2023, 08:40:25 AM
Funny or not , the event was quite good right ? I mean , yea , sure Diaz was a bit slow and didn't care so much about the fight but overall , the event was good and Paul showed some progress in his boxing skills but also on this cardio.

For bets...Paul had 1.20 odds so why should you have risk it for such low odds ? instead the UD and going all 10 rounds , had 4.20 odds and whoever placed that bet , big congrats!  Grin

Was not interested to bet though, but if the odds for a decision is that huge and someone put a big amount of money, then yeah, big congrats. But I guess boxing fans are slowly going into watching real fights, and this kind of exhibitions might be losing it's trend already.

In any case, for sure there are fans who watch. this fight and maybe think that they got their money's worth or just a die hard fans of both fighters. So another million for Jake Paul for sure, and most likely Nate Diaz too get a huge paycheck.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 06, 2023, 08:22:48 AM
...
Also, the PPV numbers, could it generate more than the recent Spence vs Crawford fight?
No way mate! Let's bet. Cheesy Many casuals already understood that their idol Jake Paul is not that special after losing his first fight against a real boxer. Although they have no idea that Tommy Fury is not even a top 20, very raw and clumsy so some might believe Paul's statement that he improved and that he is a real prospect to become a world champion. So maybe this can reach 500k PPV buys.

The undercard is not that exciting either, it's a mismatch. Amanda Serrano clearly beat Heather Hardy years ago so at 41 she will lose worse than their first match. My PPV buys prediction in this event is 300k and I'm already generous with it as this could be much lower.

I'm just trying to play the devil's advocate  Grin. But there are reports that they did get good numbers in this fight, but the reports is not yet official though, so we will have to wait.

And it was the same results, Amanda Serrano won for a lopsided victory, and she punishes Heather Hardy in 10 rounds.

Scores: 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91.
1053  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC bulls back? on: August 05, 2023, 09:00:18 PM
Yes, BTC bulls will come back again. And it could probably come anytime between 2024 and 2025 which could leave the ATH. Because almost all bitcoiners currently think that bitcoin will make a new ATH again. Moreover There is also a high chance of a major bull market in Bitcoin in the near future and this could happen as between as 2024.

I don't think that the bulls has left the market for good, it's that the bears really take over after reaching our all time high in 2021. And with that, it's hard for the bulls to keep phase with the current market price and even if they wanted to push it, there are a lot of negative things that happen last year and even this year as well, pulling the price or at least making $30,000 as the resistance level.

But as we have known about the market cycles, sooner or later, we will have the catalyst for a bull run, that is the block halving. Just less than a year from now, and then after that activity, the bulls will slowly take control of the market again.
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Possibility of bitcoin adoption by countries when world fin. giants does. on: August 05, 2023, 08:39:21 PM
We already have El Salvador as a model of what happens when the government tries to push for Bitcoin adoption. Adoption is not increasing as much as bitcoiners have hoped, because legal concerns are only one of the many factors that slow down adoption. Other factors are risks of loss, high fees, price volatility. Combine it with the fact that average people have no problems with banks and payment networks, and it's not surprise that Bitcoin is rarely used as a currency even after 14 years.

And we can see that the IMF has putting pressures on El Salvador

Quote
"Given the legal risks, fiscal fragility and largely speculative nature of crypto markets, the authorities should reconsider their plans to expand government exposures to bitcoin," the IMF said in a statement.

https://www.reuters.com/business/finance/imf-says-el-salvadors-bitcoin-risks-have-not-materialized-should-be-addressed-2023-02-11/

And with that statement, I don't think that IMF will simply adopt and embrace bitcoin per se and makes it as legal means of exchange. Sorry to burst the bubble for the OP. Just think of bitcoin's volatility as one major drawback why countries are not willing to take the risk.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: August 05, 2023, 08:18:45 PM
~
The fight is off now due to a failed drug test by Whyte  Roll Eyes.
This is a bummer, Anthony Joshua wanted this fight to happen because he wanted to reboot his confidence and what more than an opponent he once defeated but i was expecting Dillian Whyte to land some heavy shots and surprise Anthony Joshua in the rematch and may even become even with one each.

Oh well, everyone was thinking that this could be just a walk in the park for Joshua and win and bring back his confidence. And just like the case of others before him, he pleaded not guilty, but we will see what will be the outcome, for sure they are going to look at his B sample.

If we have to recall back, Conor Benn failed a drug test too when he was supposedly to face Chris Eubank Jr. But was cleared later

But it's too late for Dillian Whyte here, the best thing for Matchroom is to find a replacement ASAP.
1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 05, 2023, 01:12:31 PM

I agree, Valdez looks amateur against Stevenson, and it just shows how good Shakur is at his level. But the did win a comeback again and won in the judges card. And so he is given a shot again his fellow Mexican Navarette who looks bad on the other hand and almost got knockout by an unknown fighter.

But I guess he has a big heart and believe in himself that he can make a bounce back after tasting the canvass in that fight. And won by a technical knockout over Liam in round 9. And for me this is a fight of the year candidate.

I'm sure it is, it's been a long time since we've seen a rivalry like that of Morales and Barrera, I hope the hype lived up to that they have the same style both aggressive and love to move forward, they don't care being hit as long as they can hit, but compared to Barrera - Morales who hate each other in their rivalry both fighters has respect to each other, let's see in their weigh in and the actual fight, if the fight is close and the two fighters do their things we can see a rematch.

This could be an explosive fight and either boxer would kiss the canvass if hit with those heavy bombs. This is one of the fights that is hard to predict who will win but I'm more inclined to back Oscar Valdez as I think he has more power of the two but we might see an upset here too because Navarrete has more experience than Valdez.

Bookies predicts that this fight would go the distance but i think otherwise.

Initially I thought that Valdez is like 1.5x favorite, but it seems that the odds has moved a lot as we get closer to the fight. I haven't put my bet yet, but if this fight favors Oscar as per bookies then most likely it will be the case that he will win.

And for those bettors, this odd is still big, as they are willing to like bet in the thousands of dollars, so still it's going to be a big win for them.

But for us, this is not the case, and so it's better to look for options here.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 05, 2023, 12:48:43 PM
I know this is not going to be profitable or make any sense for some they are just ignoring this fight but for me, I am Trying my luck right now, so here is my pick for this game

Jake Paul VS Nate Diaz

The stake odds for this game are 1.22 for Jake Paul and 4.10 for Nate Diaz, for this fight we all know Nate Diaz from the UFC a former UFC fighter with a great style of stand-up and Jui-Jitsu Well in this match he might have some hidden strategy for Jake Paul against a boxer, and how can he apply his MMA techniques against a boxing match, while Jake Paul the problem child has taken on a lot of MMA fighters in the past so this is not new to him and for this fight against Jake Paul this is going to be a handicap for Nate Diaz, as jake Paul have many wins against an MMA fighter, but against a boxer he is nothing, but because his opponent is a former MMA fighter this is surely a one-sided fight, my pick is surely Jake Paul

Yeah, I think it's an easy pick for Jake Paul in this fight. Perhaps what's interesting though is what round he is going to finished Nate Diaz. Nate could have a stealer cardio, but this is a different league for him so he might not last a distance here.

And to make huge profits for this fight, it's better to throw big money on Jake Paul, just saying.

Also, the PPV numbers, could it generate more than the recent Spence vs Crawford fight?
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 04, 2023, 09:11:29 PM
^^ That is doable fight, both are with TR and Loma wanted to bounce back from a narrowing lost against Devin Haney. On the other hand, Shakur Stevenson might have settled at 135 lbs and so he needs another dance partner to solidify his position at this division.

And if Haney goes up to 135 lbs, then he will vacant his belt and so it will be open up and maybe this fight could be made for at least one of those sanctioning body. Two of the best 135 lbs, very technical, I think it will be a chess match between this two if ever they faces each other.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claressa Shields Vs. Keith Thurman?! on: August 04, 2023, 08:34:51 PM
if you read the title, yep, you got that right, a female boxer called out Kieth Thurman for a fight.

several days ago I saw articles going around talking about Claressa Shields calling out Keith Thurman and saying that she'll fight him and thinks that she can outbox him. I thought this would just die down because Kieth Thurman wouldn't respond to it but then earlier I saw an article where Keith Thurman basically accepts her offer to fight for a charity event and also would give her several advantages more protective gear just to make it safer.

anyway, I've seen some highlights of Claressa Shields's fight and I think she is a good boxer(her belts shoes that) but I don't think she can handle Men's Boxing, especially with someone like Kieth Thurman. not sure if this fight will ever go through but I am extremely curious to see how she'll show off her skills if she ever actually fights Kieth Thurman for a charity event.

if you are curious, after Kieth Thurman accepted her offer, she responded by showing a video of her sparring with men, and I gotta say, it wasn't good.

If it is for a charity, for sure the score will be a draw in the end, and they will just play and toy around inside the ring and not hurting each other. But if this is going to be a real fight, full 12 rounds, with judges and referee, I don't think that Shields will have a change against the likes of Thurman, so this is a bad idea. I think Thurman will love to fight if this is for a cause and charity though and that's why he stated that he is willing to accept with some protection for Shields as he might not control himself in the end. So just imagine if Thurman can hit Claressa in the body first, for sure it's going to hurt and later Shields might have regret about this idea of fighting Keith, IMHO.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 04, 2023, 08:21:31 PM

Am i wrong to think that this information on the internet needs to be updated.

You are late with your assumptions though, at the start of 2017 or at least when my memory is still fresh, that's when this whole KYC started to also haunt crypto base gambling platform. Prior to that  it was just a very simple steps for gamblers to deposit and withdraw their bitcoins (99% of crypto based that time only caters or acccept BTC).

But time has change, and maybe this is the price that we have to pay after 2017's bull run as every sector, specially government and banking started to take notice and so they imposed mandatory KYC.
