The risk is with computers getting more and more intelligent is that people will get more and more stupid. They'll be a few bright kids to run the system, but millions would slowly evolve into reality shows watchers and peanuts eaters zombie-like human-vegetables.

What people should realize is that the fiat paper currency they use everyday is getting more and more virtual. If millions would go the banks asking to withdraw all their savings in cash, the banks couldn't deliver. Some how BTC is "more real" than fiat.

Well, this was widely expected. I guess the biggest change will be for blockchain.info which will now require to fully identify all the European people who have an online wallet.
Note, that this is only a proposal yet. It needs to pass through the Euro parliament to become law.

Doesn't look like it offers any flights from cheapo European carriers though. Probably good for super international and transatlantic stuff, even then it's missing Wowair and Norwegian, but not much use if you want to drift around Europe for pennies. I can't find anything for my normal routes reasonably priced. True, doesn't have Ryanair or Wizz or those smaller ones. Mainly the flights that are found on major travel sites. Ive come to the same conclusion. Cheapair isn't that cheap. I sure appreciate the idea of paying with BTC, but I don't like the idea or paying a premium for it. |

Well I applaud the UK for this gutsy move. I think the motto "united we stand" is overrated and long due for a revision anyway. People and countries alike have been brainwashed into thinking that being part of a collective is the only way to find solace, that they have to give up their individual identities for the "greater good". The world sorely needs a divergence from this engraved notion.
You can see something has gone wrong by looking at Bojo. Hey, this guy is the clear winner. As the leading conservative backing brexit, he will probably become the next prime minister. So he should be a happy man, dancing in the street, shooting out loud: We won! We won! But we don't see that. Why? What did you expect? Moving against the current comes with a price but at the least the UK can be whole again and breathe normally again. I'd make that choice any day of the week, 365 days a year just so I can be true to myself instead of selling my identity to a bunch of fakes who couldn't care less about who I am but pretend to just the same. Against the current? BoJo has been backed by 52% of the british people, so he's not exactly a loner, but I must say I really don't understand british politics. There's got to be something really wrong. How can the man who pushed so hard for brexit suddenly leaves the ship when he has the unique opportunity to steer it the way he said he would? I guess the fracture inside the conservative party is bigger than I thought, and that's bad for the country. I thought there would be trouble with Scotland and Ireland but there's also trouble in Westminster. |

I can't. I fly most often with Easyjet and Vueling, but neither accepts BTC. I really wish some major airline company would accept BTC.

For the refugee crisis turkey is getting money and maybe visa freedom although the last is right now not possible (atlesst that is what german news are writing), because there were several political difficulties in turkey that prevents it.
And this played a big part in the NO vote - for example some Ford Transit factories were closed in the UK and relocated to Turkey to take advantage of Merkel's EU subsidy for businesses that relocated there. People thought wow, Britain is a net contributor, so some of that subsidy money is ours, and it is being used to move jobs to Turkey to sort out Merkel's migrant mess. It tipped the vote in those areas like Southampton. Turkey first tried to join the EU more than 40 years ago, and the free trade agreement is also very old. Frau Merkel wasn't yet in politics. I remember De Gaulle, a former french president. He vetoed twice the entry of the UK into the EU, and he also blocked Turkey. But that was a long time ago, at a time when there were leaders with some insight. Those days are gone. |

When Cameron leaves, Boris Johnson will probably succeed him but there's a problem. The man has 2 passports. One from the UK and another from the US. I can't imagine someone being head of government while carrying a foreign passport and paying tax to another country.
I've always dreamed of getting another passport, but when you're in politics, one must show full loyalty to the country.

If the person has lived in the country a long time, is a good citizen, contributes positively to society, etc, why is a political career not ok just because the person isn't 100% native or has double nationality? Explain that to Egyptians. In Egypt, if you parents aren't Egyptians, you cannot run for any political office. People would just look at you as someone unreliable. In Burma, it's also illegal for politicians to marry a foreigner. Ok. Different countries different ideas. But what I meant was to ask you directly. Reading what you posted I got the idea you don't believe a person's contribution to that society is enough. Why not? Especially in some cases where that person must be voted in by the people they represent and not just selected or something. It's more than 7 years since BTC started, and altcoins, most notably Ether have grown much bigger anyone would have thought. I'm expecting change when blocks will be full, with additional transactions being delayed, or rejected. This can happen next week.

The reason all these people are doing this is because the British public hasn't voted the way others have wanted so now they're all throwing tantrums and are either acting like it's the end of the world or that anybody who voted leave is 'Xenophobic' and 'Racist'. I've singled out the FUK because it made the news. But the more I think of it, the more I enjoy the british choice. I would love to see a united Ireland and an independent Scotland. |

I haven't voted as I haven't found the "NONE" option.
The EU will live forever. France is between Spain and Germany, and Italy is between France and Slovenia. This is not going to change, and there are thousands of Europeans living in one country while working in another. Plenty of things might change, but there will always be millions crossing borders everyday, to work, to trade or for fun, so there will always be a need for "neighborhood relations". The EU is the best place to organize that.
I'm surprised 4 chose France. My experience is that at least one quarter of the French people are subhumans who would unable to stand without state support. France would simply collapse if it weren't under the strong umbrella of Germany.
