1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers trickily claims they wins the bet while they never did. on: December 24, 2023, 03:35:33 AM
This is the reason why you shouldn't easily believe all the things that you see and read online and even hear in person. Some people who don't want their name or reputation to be tainted will do their very best to claim they are continuously winning. And they do it for other various reasons alongside with pretending to be a good gambler. Some do it to impress people, some do it to encourage others to gamble too, and some do it so that they could brag about the winnings and strategies they have. So you should really learn how to decipher who is telling the truth and who isn't so you won't fall victim into their story, especially if they are introducing you into gambling.

To add, some are even paid to do it to encourage people to sign up, deposit and play. Some posts are sponsored to gain engagement and traffic on the site. So verifying it yourself will definitely help big time.

True, I have an acquaintance who always claim that he won big amount in one of the famouse casino online app in our country and he even shows us a proof of his winning but in reality, he just took that from someone else's post. He used those posts to convince us to play and join him, I think that was one of his strategies to get a lot of referral and invites.
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 24, 2023, 02:52:45 AM
This depends on the gambler in question, if a responsible gambler is lonely, I don't think that he will see gambling as something that will free him from loneliness. Why I said this is because a discipline gamble will have his time limit that he uses to gamble and as long he is gambling on his lonely time, he will stop gambling was his time limited is over.

It is a gambler that cannot control his gambling activities that will use his loneliness as an excuse to game all through and we all know that gamblers that cannot discipline themselves will end up becoming an addict through any means, either by chasing his loss or passing away time with gambling. If you are lonely, go and chill with your friends or go to the cinema and enjoy yourself but not with gambling.

I think it is right to set the record straight that gambling in itself is addictive. Especially when you  are already deeply rooted to gambling or you do it for fun and it will become a part of  you. So since it is highly addictive, then loneliness can ignite your urge to gamble some more.

I have friends back then that were into online betting of sports odds, like football. And will go to the extent of saving their pocket money to be able to afford some money they can use to stake odds and it's really that addictive and terrible. Now, since it's not everyone that have the mental capacity to hold disappointments and tensions, this could lead to mental issues for some people.
There is nothing loneliness can not do, it can make us to do undo and involve ourselves in something that is not going to affect us positively in the future. We need to make sure that we deal with loneliness and involve ourselves in something that is profitable so that we are not going to become desperate or do things without thorough thinking. We can involve ourselves in so many things to make sure that we are not lonely so that we don't ignorantly involve ourselves with something that is going to cause problem for us in the future.

Of a truth, loneliness or being isolated all the time is bad because you will take some nasty decisions that might endanger your life without anyone noticing. So far as gambling is concerned, it is important you relate your gambling habits to someone you can trust because sometimes you can lose a bet and fall into depression without anyone noticing so at that material time it will really be dangerous to ones health because your thoughts will be filled with so many negativity but if someone knows about your gambling habits they can check up on you from time to time to know if you're fine or not.

That's why it is very important to consult to medical specialist to get a clinical diagnosis,  also for us to know what things to avoid. Mental health check up is very important for us because sometimes we didn't know to ourself that we already have that kind of mental illness. When it comes to gambling and you've experienced any downsides about it, It's better to have someone to talk to so that you can vent out all your frustations. it's better to say it than to keep it to yourself for a long time because it might worsen the effect on your mental health.

1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: December 23, 2023, 08:50:29 PM
Was this a question or a statement of fact?! )
You are one hundred percent right. After all, relationships are built on trust and broken by its absence. If a person cannot control himself and starts gambling with money that he cannot afford to lose, then sooner or later this will lead to a break in relations with his partner and to problems with friends and problems at work, as well as with loved ones and relatives. This is probably not a complete list of problems that a person can get when starting to gamble with money that cannot be put at risk.

Of course, I think this is more of a question that is looking for a more factual statement. I think gambling would really be a problem in a relationship if you are using the budget for the benefit of both of you, like for example you use money for wedding expenses and then you use the money for your gambling habit then obviously it would be a problem in your relationship with your loved one.

The important point is of course as you said that all the problems started from them putting an amount of budget that they could not afford, if only they initially understood about the risks involved in gambling I think they would not be desperate to put money that they could not afford which certainly has the potential for problems. I think you have mentioned a list that is quite appropriate to the facts and possibilities that can occur. Therefore, understanding the risks in any case must be prioritized, do not take it all lightly.

As you've said, gambling will be a big problem if a person is using the budget for both of them and you've mentioned the wedding budget, If that's the case, possible it will cause a big problem and for sure that will be the root cause of why their marriage will not continue, it will be an eye opener for her partner and will be able to think about whether the decision to getting married  is the right one. when it comes to being in a relationship, I think it's better if we show our true character in the beginning so we can get to know our partners better, because it's hard to regret it in the end.
1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: December 23, 2023, 02:06:52 PM
I came across on YouTube where a gambling casino social influencer was streaming about a casinos platform.
He literally brought out how phone and was illustrating to the audiences that it is just few steps to take the winning on your games which is making choice of your predictions, choose amount to bet and also indicate his hashtag referral code and click on confirm.
Immediately you get credited directly to your account that just won.
I just smiled but I want to ask, how many of you are creates interests on a particular casino platform due to th influence of the casinos steamers?

Not me, because I'm doing gambling activities based on my own decision and wants, not by the influence of some celebrity or streamers, But sometimes I tend to make a research about the particular gambling because I have watched the ads of one of my fave streamer wherein she introduce and advertise the said gambling website, But she's not the only reason why I got curious. The main reason is all about the winnings which is, for me it's a kind of too good ti be true claims by the paid streamerm
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: December 23, 2023, 01:53:57 PM
Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.
This is a good topic, well we are not sure but probably however if you have a blooming business like gambling I don't think you want to involve yourself there and probably you'll be doing other things. Most of them are business man and there's a probability that they have background in gambling as they have chosen this industry, so yeah I think they do bet or they have experience betting before.
They actually do bet and they have experience as well because how they would come up to this idea without any having experience about gambling, right? In fact, they prefer to play at other gambling place and websites because there are reasons, possible they observe the place and the whole concept of the gambling site, or maybe they are looking what is the difference  about that gambling place compared to his own business, typical thing when it comes to business competition.
1086  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bakit ganito ang BInance ngayon? on: December 23, 2023, 12:33:17 PM

1087  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 23, 2023, 08:25:41 AM
Skilled workers has higher wage but unfortunately not domestically. Skilled workers here in my country works abroad to have a much higher rate. This is the sad reality that happens in third world country like mine but these workers also help our economy by sending money in. Our nurses, wielders, midwife, plumbers, cook, domestic helpers, teachers etc. were involve in this and they made better pay rate than working locally.
Maybe this is also the case in several other countries, because I also see that there are more workers in my country who are very happy to work in other countries in the profession they currently have. This is of course because the influence of the salary they receive abroad is much greater than the salary available in their own country, so it can trigger more people to go abroad to hunt for a bigger salary with the skills they have. That is a very real thing that I have seen in the last few years up to now.

actually even I would like to work in another country especially here in our country, the salary is too small for my work position. The salary basic offer is too small but they set a high standard for the requirements needed which I think is a little bit unfair. we are all aware that there's an inflation and all expenses are quite high wherein my salary cannot sustain my needs and wants no matter how frugal I do on a daily basis. Sometimes I envy those people who left our country to work abroad because, Yes we are already there where they sacrificed a few years in another country but if you look back, it was so worth it when they were away from their family because somehow all the plans were fulfilled and life became easier.

1088  Economy / Economics / Re: How to gain money on: December 23, 2023, 08:13:53 AM
You could be self employed, an entrepreneur. Maybe, there aren't as many as available business or jobs. But that doesn't mean we sit back! We have to feed ourselves, don't we? I see many people from my place who are jobless but living a decent life. They have businesses of their own, maybe small but enough. If one had the right mindset he could earn without any hassle. Being smart and hard working is all that matters.

Exactly! if you have any means to start your own business, then you will be tagged as an entrepreneur or self employed. even if your starting capital is small, it is still possible to grow especially if you are persistent in the business you are running. always remember that those rich businessmen in the industry  also started from the scratch.. knowledge, wise decisions and actions are their most important investment to grow their business.
1089  Economy / Economics / Re: How to gain money on: December 23, 2023, 08:06:36 AM
Without:
Charity, begging, illegal, stocks, trading.
Simple way to gain money is to work hard or build your own business. If you don't have sufficient money for building your own business, then you must start at the basic way which is look for a job, While you have a stable job and income, learn how to save and balance your expenses and savings, In that way you will gain money without doing things such as charity, stocks, trading and lastly the illegal one.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 23, 2023, 04:24:15 AM
These types of comparisons must be taken as references, just play your game, stick to your game plan, keep making your combinations and the results will come, then, you have to understand that seeing it in another player does not mean that you are next, and then with a probability of +100 (e.g.) you place bet allin.

To become a millionaire in gambling required being patient. In most cases it comes majorly when you are not expecting. Having such in one's mindset may make one to become a betting addict.

Well It's not all about patience, It's some kind of being consistent and having enough funds for gambling, Also if you want to have a big profit in gambling, Don't borrow money and have a self limitations so that you were able to check your spending time ang value. Having this kind of attitude and mindset towards gambling will give you more benefits and will prevent you to experience tragic losses.
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: December 23, 2023, 03:44:23 AM
Of course, because the sponsor doesn't want to make a loss in it, the lure of wanting to finance other people to gamble even though there is an ulterior motive in it. Well... we must immediately realize this and don't easily fall into his sweet seduction. Because if we are easily trapped then the consequences can be fatal, we want to be happy but instead we get regret there.
It is because of the temptation from the sponsor that desperate gamblers are willing to follow the suggestions given to them so that they will receive money from the sponsor who will finance their gambling. This should not happen to us because it will only put us at risk where we might not be able to win easily. Unfortunately, there are still many people who are trapped by the sponsor's persuasion and make people take out gambling financing so they can immediately start gambling. But after a while of gambling, they see that there is no chance for them to win more than they lose. They will regret that they have accepted gambling financing from sponsors but it will be too late to stop because they have to keep playing until they get the final result. And if they can't win or even lose, they must be able to return the loan money to that person. Otherwise, they will have even bigger problems.

That's right, hopefully we can avoid things like this and hopefully we won't be easily tempted by the persuasions of gambling sponsors.
If there are still people who are tempted and want to accept advances from sponsors, in my opinion there are two reasons, namely they only see it in terms of luck which they themselves are not sure they will get or maybe they are forced to do it because they need the money and hope to get lucky here. .
And it is true that if someone cannot win, then he should think of a way to win or think about stopping and just returning the money he has used.

We can't say that because many gamblers are easily tempted to accept the offer especially if they have no money just like the amount offered by the financer, But at least let's be aware the possible effect and outcome of this kind of negotiation. In the end, you will still be able to make the decision on your own even if the financier forces you, it is still on you whether you will accept it or not, but hopefully the suggestions that people give in the forum will help.
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: December 23, 2023, 03:35:33 AM
Gambling experience at some point is kinda fun, especially when you're making some wining strike and you then get very excited and play more, but by the time you start seeing or experiencing some loss at first you'll not believe you've ran out of lucks or experience to make hoof prediction. Then the urge of playing more games to recover from the losses you've experience starts coming up and you might even end up funding your casino account more than the limit you were supposed to consider. And before you'll know it you have addicted your self with gambling. This is one of the easiest stories of a gamble addict or irresponsible gambler, the worse thing that might happen to you, is to used money allocated for other thing for gambling or use a borrowed money for gambling. The outcome of this, is pretty much likely to become an irresponsible gambler.
It's never a good idea to use loaned money for gambling because that will be a start for one person being buried in debt and next to that is for a person to become suicidal when he cannot pay them all anymore.
Sure, it is fun at some point because that is the essence of gambling, to have fun and not to make it as a day job trying to make profits out of a high-risk kind of game. But at some point when we play longer it gets boring, especially if we are playing repeating casino games. i.e. dice, Keno, Plinko.
Those who bet for sports though will still have fun with their gambling habit because it is always different every game and they don't really need to spend too much because it's just 3-6 games per day and rest again. I mean they don't need to be gambling 24 hours nonstop, there's always a pause.

If a person is willing to risk everything just to gamble, then let them do things that they really want. In the end, they will realized the things that we advice to them so many times. I mean, a person will learn their lessons in real life if they are the one who experienced it, But I hope that a person doesn't get to the point where they commit suicide before they think about what they have done. He should start thinking about what he can't do to prevent this from happening.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: December 22, 2023, 07:57:40 PM
If Andreas knows that humans are very emotional creatures and irrational beings despite all the rational evidence against a particular cause or a particular action, then he'd understand that gambling doesn't care about one's rationalization irrespective of how intellectually sound they are. I find this analogy to be quite similar to those who engage in other addictive, self-destructive habits. This analogy fits with many others to explain the how problem gambling starts.
Humans are truly emotional in everything, that is somewhat a unique creation but because of that thing, we never win everything we want like winning in gambling. And that simple analogy gives an idea to the casino owners and takes advantage of our weakness. Addiction really exists because we let it happen and because we let our emotions control our minds. The solution to this problem is just ourselves, not the other person because we are the ones who manage ourselves, not them.

That's right mate and we can not deny the fact that human are truly emotional and that's the reason why other casino will take an advantage in that which is the owner/facilitator and programers on a casino find some weakness of ours gamblers in order to catch some attentions and make us fall into them and play with them and then also once we loss they will earn a lot of money which is this is a good marketing strategy.

It's hard to accept but this is true, Humans are emotional and that is one of the reasons why a person is easily affected because he cannot control his emotions properly, which can be the reason and beginning of his addiction especially when money is involved.
I'm not sure but when it comes to casinos, they seem to sense when someone is losing, they make a good way so that the player doesn't stop playing and continues to do even without money. it's like they manipulate a person's mind which is the reason why the player ends up being obsessed. Casino owners know how fragile and weak when it comes to emotional control people are, that's what they made a strategy to win the hearts of the players.
1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do casino owners benefit from creating multiple casinos? on: December 22, 2023, 07:44:13 PM
Different people take different steps to profit from gambling platforms. Using two casinos at the same time is really risky (similar to having two drivers of a car and turning the steering wheel at the same time) gambling platforms are just that. They are driven by greed and take various steps in the language of more benefits, but if they can't turn it on, it's better. Casinos provide a place for different gamblers to play.

Everything is risky nowadays, Just like in investment, owner doesn't want to put all of the money and efforts in one casino that's why he chose creating another one, besides that's a one nature of having a business, to create and develop more because they already saw how people love and enjoy his business. This kind of issue is so normal and part of a business strategies.
1095  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 22, 2023, 01:05:51 PM
The feeling of regrets are just temporary feeling to me, and they come to existence when i check my yearly transaction history and see the amount I have lost so far. Despite the wins I still feel if I have put those money into Bitcoin investment I would have made some profits rather than loss. However I see no need to grief for my losses most times because make some wins also that can cover for the monthly loss, and the key factor is that I don't gamble irresponsible. I believe those who gamble irresponsible without budgeting money for gamble would be the set of person to have more regrets but, when your wins are more than the losses, you'll be glad for every finding gamble.

I feel you, I've said to myself that I won't regret to know how to do gambling but sometimes I can't take it and fake it, especially if there's an instances that I checked my previous transactions and I saw how much money I've loss in gambling, I'd always sugarcoat myself that past is past and the important thing is you learned a lot but still you can't get rid of regret.
1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 22, 2023, 12:38:59 PM
Gambling certainly affects behavior and mood does not stay at the same level every time. Gambling can easily lead to change in a gambler's behavior here losing winning everything works in the gambler's brain. When the gambler is constantly driven to lose his behavior will become worse than before. Behavior is better if you win. Betting strategies don't always work rationally. That's why the mood and behavior of the gambler should try to moderate.

On point! I agree that gambling is one of the reason of why people change their behaviour, As with any habit, the degree or severity of the behavior determines the healthcare classification. As per some medical professionals, the best way to effectively address the problem is to stop the gambling immediately but as long as we want that happen, We can't control other people's decision.
1097  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [Security] Additional Feature 2FA Implemented. on: December 22, 2023, 11:45:35 AM
Magandang araw sa inyo mga mabayan ngayon ay nakita ko yung post ni @PowerGlove regarding with the A concise 2FA/TOTP implementation (SMF patch) and now recently is added na nga yung feature nila ng 2FA.

Thanks to PowerGlove, who did 90% of the work on this, the much-requested 2-factor authentication feature has finally been added. You can enable it in your Account Settings, and then you have to give the code when logging in. If you don't have 2FA enabled, you have to leave the OTP field blank when logging in.

If you use the forgotten-password function, then there's an option to remove the 2FA. So 2FA does not provide any protection in case of a compromised email. Make sure that your email address is secure. If you don't want to set an email address, use something like yourUserName@invalid.bitcointalk.org; don't use a random nonsense email like y@x.com, since somebody might create that domain/email.

Let me know if there are any bugs.

2FA added
Congrats, PowerGlove.
(And thank you. Cheesy)

Paano nyo makikita itong feature na ito
  • Pumunta ng Profile
  • Modify Profile > Account related settings

Real estate investment is still profitable here in my place that is why it is my second choice of investment aside from Bitcoin and precious metals. I personally don't like cars because of the fact that it is undoubtedly a liability.

Same here! I chose real estate as one of my other investments here in our country, as we know that real estate value appreciates from time to time and It is one of the best type of investment here. Just like you, I don't have any plans on buying brand new car and If there's an instances that I'll be needing it in the future, I prefer buying a secondhand one rather than a brand new because I am able to buy much lesser value of a car in a good condition and besides, there's nothing wrong buying 2nd hand items.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 22, 2023, 11:07:45 AM
maybe everyone has different thoughts but for me it all depends on how you consider your bet to make a profit or just to try your luck in the match. If a bettor hopes for a profit that has been targeted, he will definitely bet a large amount and when watching a match and losing, most bettors who are looking for a profit will experience the same thing. but for bettors who think this is just to try their luck with a small amount of $1 with high odds I dont think they will feel regret or stress if the match is lost because $1 is just a small amount and worth losing.

I understand the situation you have experienced, even I myself have also experienced this, but from mistakes in the past I have become better without feeling disappointed if my bet loses because I enjoy watching the match more and if I lose I will not regret it because I watched my match. to be entertained and my betting amount was not too big involving only $1
Betting with an amount of $1 will not give bettors any regrets because usually, they will bet with a larger amount of money because they want to win a lot of money. It is normal that they want to watch the match, and if he is a wise person, he will learn the match from watching the match so that it can improve his abilities and also his knowledge, which can be useful at other times. Each bettor's goals will differ. Some people want to win the match and some want to have fun by betting on their favorite team. So every bettor can decide whether to watch the match or just place a bet because they feel it will be too emotional.

Yes, I agree with you because learning from past mistakes can give us an understanding of what we should do, making us wiser in responding to them. We will choose whether to watch the match or not, and if we can accept whatever final result of the match can give us any betting results, we can still watch the match. If we lose, it will not disappoint us because we are already aware of the consequences we will face.

But watching a game with a bet will give you some anxiety and out of concentration feeling because you weren't able to watch properly because you were thinking and focusing who will be the winner, right? I agree that people will learn from their past mistakes but sometimes even if they experienced worst cases, they still continue doing it, repeatedly.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 22, 2023, 10:39:45 AM
Yes, an addict no longer cares about what is around him and only gets deeper into his addiction. They will not want to do things outside of what they often do because they feel no interest in other things. That's why they also don't think about what would happen to them if all their wealth was used up for gambling, so they had nothing left to survive on. People who have experienced the pleasure of gambling games will postpone other things and consider them not important to them. They will prioritize gambling more than doing other things or activities, even though if they want to do it, they can start reducing their gambling activities. If they can reduce their gambling activities, they will see that what they are doing in gambling is actually not good and they should end it immediately before things get even worse. But we also can't force them to move or even stop them from gambling because they will only think we are disturbing them from gambling.

It is important for the player to forget, to experience a rush of andrenaline and a feeling of euphoria. They are ready to pay almost any price for this. Therefore, the words of reason do not work on them - they fall into a stupor and become almost blind. Their thirst to get some winnings only increases with each loss
That's right. Well, not to be a hypocrite but I do feel the same way even though I am not a gambling addict. With each loss I want my money back, I always think about one more bet until I find myself depleting my balance. But when that time comes, I rest. I think the better part of gambling online is if you don't have the means to deposit money anymore. I have cash but I don't like going to the store just to deposit it and also I don't like the idea of using my digital wallet to deposit. What is saved in my country's currency will stay that way. I won't go to lengths and effort to put it online so I can buy cryptocurrencies and then gamble it.
Unlike those crackheads who always have the means to buy their drugs because most of them are bought thru cash. It's easy to exchange online money to cash but it's difficult to buy online money using our cash. I hope I said it right and not confusing.
Even now, people are having a hard time putting money online unless there's a digital wallet that supports that feature. But a person who will deposit will also think twice to do it because of the damn transaction fees that are so high recently. So, I think gamblers are still safe, better than being a crackhead.

Yeah, and I think most of us are having that kind of thinking that if we loss in gambling, there's an urge feeling that we want to play again so that we can get our money back without thinking what will be the consequences of our actions. As you've said, one good thing about online gambling is that when you don't have money on your online banks, you weren't able to deposit money for gambling unlike traditional gambling wherein if you have a cash on hamd, you were able to play as long as you want, but sometimes even if a person don't have money online, they will really go out of their way just to gamble.
