1581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: October 21, 2023, 06:41:32 AM
I got my first Bitcoin just by joining signature campaigns as one of the perks of being a member on this Bitcointalk forum founded by the legendary Satoshi Nakamoto. I also purchased small fractions and even tried mining but unfortunately did not work due to the increasing difficulty and lack of profit in mining.

For me earning Bitcoin through signature campaigns was more convenient and simple. You just need to qualify to the campaign requirements and dedicate your time and effort creating constructive posts to get paid on a weekly basis.

For now, since I have not met the minimum required merits earned for the last 120 days, I am still able to earn through altcoin bounties. But as soon as I got that required merit I will surely apply to Bitcoin paying campaigns.

I encountered and got fractions of Bitcoin before diving myself into Altcoins. This forum really helps me and my family a lot. I learn and earn at the same time which is a perfect combination for me.

How about you guys, did you earn your first Bitcoin through services here on this forum? Are you mining or you bought it as well? Which crypto came to you first, is it Bitcoin or Altcoins? What are your Bitcoin source at the moment if you don't mind me asking?

Wow, Congrats to you. that's nice to hear! Same on how you earned yours, I earned my first crypto coin here in bitcoin talk forum by joining signature and bounty campaign and it helps me a lot  in my financial needs while learning how the crypto market works by reading topics here. This forum serves as my stepping stone in my crypto journey wayback 2017 and as of now, I am earning from the signature campaigns. it's a quite hard to gain 1 BTC today but it depends how consistent and eager you are.
1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More secure ways of storing bitcoin? on: October 21, 2023, 04:41:14 AM
How do institutional investors store and protect their Bitcoin assets?
Institutional investors, such as hedge funds and corporations, have different ways of storing and protecting their Bitcoin assets than typical user wallets.
It is not for us to know  lol , but of course they are using more protection that usual crypto holder(though we are all advised to keep our coins safer in how we need it to put)
They mostly use hardware wallet to keep their bitcoin.
But it is correct that one of the safest is Hardware wallet , actually this is also what I am using now , have just purchased mine months ago and yes now i felt more secure in holding my precious coins.

I agree with you, one of the safest ways to store and keep your Bitcoin holding is by using a hardware wallet because it keeps the private keys offline which gives you an assurance of high-level security from the hackers.
it doesn't just store the Bitcoin or other coins but the private keys that access it which is very important. One of the benefits of using a hardware wallet is its maximum security which is immune to malicious software activities and also as a secured backup option when something happens on your software wallet.
1583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife. on: October 20, 2023, 11:15:43 PM
Tbh, I still dont think it is a very good idea to give Bitcoin as a gift at wedding or other event that supposed to have romantic notes in it. The only acceptable scenario is when you both are deep into cryptocurrency. Otherwise it looks like a investment, than a present. Similar to case when on St. Valentines day you give her a ring, invite her to a restaurant with candles, and she gives you socks and shaving foam.
In our country, the type of gifts that can be received is something they will use to start their family, something they can use in the future, or if ever they necessarily need it. Normally, gifts such as money or life insurance were also being used as a gift. In my personal view, Bitcoin can be treated the same as I mentioned, providing an investment for your wife may not be romantic for you, but knowing that your partner has an investment plan for both of you, is also being romantic and being practical at the same time.
1584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 20, 2023, 10:37:02 PM
People even cry when they lose in gambling, probably because they have used the money that was supposed to be used for something else. I find such people to have no brains. A person who is an adult should be able to understand simple things such as that they only have a limited amount of money that is to be used for something already, and if they gamble with it, there is a high possibility that they might lose it because gambling isn't a guaranteed way to earn money and the risk of losing is higher than the possibility of winning.

If they don't think of the outcomes, they shouldn't regret or lose later on because they are basically the ones who decided to spend that money on gambling despite the fact that it wasn't supposed to be used in it. When you know that you can die if you jump in the will, you simply don't jump in it.

People can be very emotional even when they can afford to loose the money used for gambling because they have enough, same people cannot hold ot from shedding tears all because they loose a game they thought they would have won, what makes them cry is because of their failure in such attempts and not because of the money lost at the cause.

But someone like me can never cry because of gambling no matter how, we are not into this today, gambling is already in the bone and we are used to it, when we loose, we learn a lesson more and move on.

Even the person who can afford to lose their money tends to become emotional and that's valid particularly if the loss happens over and over again. If that's the case, why don't you stop for a moment and then play again once your emotion is feeling good? Remember that there's a big risk when you start gambling that's why you must have self-limitations to prevent the obsession with gambling and set a limited amount that may be used in gambling only.
1585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 20, 2023, 10:22:11 PM
I think this is too risky most especially if you have family to feed. Even rich people struggle to achieve a balance focus between gambling and a job. How much more those who are going to gamble for a serious money and those who are chasing luck. I think if you are gambling you should make things a balance or else things might go wrong. So treat it just a past time guys don't take it seriously.
But it will still be difficult if they gamble and try to balance everything, especially in gambling, they can lose, which will affect their work. It's best if he doesn't gamble while working and waits until he's finished work and gone home so that if he loses, it won't affect everything because he can go straight to sleep if he can. Playing gambling while working will not work well because we need to focus at work, and we will not see our work become a mess because we experience loss and change our mood while working. So it's best to forget about gambling and focus on your work.

I agree with you, when you're working and gambling at the same time, you can't be focus on both sides. Either you neglected your work or you'll lose in gambling. I suggest to focus on work while working hours then you can play on your idle time or once your shift is done. Let's value our work because it provides us  stable source of income. Be accountable for your actions and always put your best effort into your work.
1586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 20, 2023, 12:43:14 PM
I suggest to cash out your capital and at least 10% of your profit then keep the remaining amount so it could be used on your next game. do not be greedy, Just set a certain limit on yourself once you win and follow your momentum in playing but once you hit the jackpot prize, You can withdraw it all and then allocate the winning prize to your savings and investment. keep a small portion for your leisure and budget for gambling.

Only in the Philippines lang talaga.

1588  Economy / Economics / Re: Cracking the Code of Saving Money... on: October 20, 2023, 11:59:24 AM
We all want to save money, but it's not always easy.
There are so many things that tempt us to spend, unexpected bills that pop up, and it can be hard to make ends meet.
It's not easy if your salary is sufficient only for the needs or you spend more than what you can earn. If that's the case you have to think on how you can increase your income. It's hard to have a problem financially, therefore do something, strive and don't depend to anyone.

I believe that everyone is aware that increasing income is the only solution, but if saving is difficult, increasing income is even more difficult, especially when we are in an economic crisis like today. It sounds easy, but it's really difficult to apply for a job these days.

How do you manage to save in a world that encourages spending?
There are many temptations but if you really want to save then you need to control and discipline yourself. Because nothing will happen if you keep spending and then in times of emergency you'll take a loan because you don't have money.

Compared to increasing income, saving will be somewhat easier because we will be more proactive. But we cannot fix our savings amount because there are many unexpected expenses. We can only limit spending on useless or unnecessary things.

I prefer the solution of increasing income rather than just focusing on saving, so we need to make more efforts even though it is much more difficult.
I've noticed that most people who have a higher income come with a huge cost of expenditure. Seems like it's better to increase your income or add a side hustle while controlling your daily expenses, in that way, you can save more money while making it from your salary. try to avoid or minimize buying things that you know aren't important in your day-to-day living. be wise in handling and spending your money.

1589  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people needs productive mindset to be happy in life on: October 20, 2023, 11:16:52 AM
In my own country, young people have clearly understood that they cannot get anywhere just by getting a university education. However, only a few are trying to do something against this situation. It has been 1.5 years since I graduated and looking at the current situation of my classmates, I can say that only 10-15% of them are trying to do something. The rest seem to be accept their fate.

Especially in my country, young people are now aware that they cannot get anywhere with education alone, so the clever ones try to find income sources and they must find!

The same in our country, Many young generations are working and doing freelancing while studying. Some of them pursue their career and do the things that they want. Youths are aware that not just because you have a diploma, doesn't mean you can live freely with a happy life freely. Pursuing the career path that you want is the key to having a happy and productive life.  However, when it comes to practicality, Some youths are forced to work on a job with a high salary to earn more so they can sustain their needs and wants rather than pursuing the career/job that makes them happy due to the financial crisis.
1590  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Sportsbook to handle large bets? on: October 20, 2023, 10:26:23 AM
I wouldnt encourage anyone to put in millions into crypto sportsbook. Not your keys, not your wallet. If something goes wrong, you basically at high risk of losing your funds. That being said, if I had to put my trust into crypto sportsbook with large amount of funds, I'd suggest Stake and sportsbet.io. I expect them to have high roller level bet limits on popular events. Some of the niche events, like 3-4 th division Soccer or some not so popular esports, expect the max bet to be capped in a couple of hundred dollars max. GL with your gambling, and most importantly, gamble responsibly.
I think op understand what you are trying to pass but this is always going to be individual decision. Like we have seen different casinos in the past crashing and most time the their customers complaining about not getting there funds from the casinos. Sometimes we have seen a condition when some people almost kill led themselves because of the huge funds they left on the casino no knowing that the contrary would happen. We need to learn from previous scene even though we are not the one such thing happen to. Keeping too much fund on casino is never advisable.
Putting all your funds into a crypto sportsbook is not advisable, as you've said if something goes wrong, possible all your funds will be put at a high risk of losing. Casino players need to know how to diversify their funds in different gambling sites to manage or reduce the overall risk. This is my perspective only when it comes to gambling and I don't put all my money to the point that there's nothing left in my pocket. I understand that this is an individual decision that's why we need to spread this information and let's try to educate the gamblers on how to become responsible player.
1591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? Selling all or not on: October 20, 2023, 09:34:25 AM
Have seen a lot of threads talking about the bull market, and everyone making comments.
I don't think selling all bitcoin in the bull market is a good idea. Why? Knowing the fact that the next bull price will still come as bitcoin continues to grow, so I don't think selling all my bitcoin in the bull market is the best.
Everyone is holdle bitcoin in the bear market and planning to sell in the bull market, now, when finally, the bull market  comes should I sell all my bitcoins and prepare to accumulate from afresh in the next bear market again? or should I keep some percentage to continue the accumulation?

In fact, you could sell all or almost all your coins, but only to buy back later, during the bear market. So far, Bitcoin cycles have been quite predictable, so it shouldn't be too complicated to choose the right timing for this. If it's so easy, why not everybody is doing this? The biggest issue is that most people who wanted to sell have sold already, or bought back much less than they converted to fiat and so they don't have coins to earn enough to become filthy rich.
Crypto market is very unpredictable, People can't say when the bull run will start. My advise is you don't have to sell all your holdings, just set a proportion like 50-50 if you're unsure on what will going to happen right after you've sold your bitcoins. If you think short term investment, then sell it all and buy back later when bear market hit and for those Investors with long term plan, They're going to sell 50% and keep the remaining half because they are aware that the value of bitcoin will rise even more as it is continuously growing.
1592  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 20, 2023, 04:51:12 AM
....
When I get my salary and start spending it on their needs, at some point, I get broke, and she asks for the breakdown. Where did you spend all the money? Well, it's all there. You asked for this and that, and I bought them all. So, why are you asking?
It is true, it is a characteristic of all women. I have seen that women will take account of their husbands without any fault. But if the husband wants to take any account from his wife then the wife will get angry and scold the husband even more. Now I mention from my personal life. I currently owe some money to the base. Now my thought is how I will repay the loan. But my wife doesn't think about that. When I get my salary, my wife buys one thing after another and spends all the money. Women now spend more on changing times. Women are not thrifty to improve their families, but now men are more thrifty. But I am not talking about all women, there are some women who put a lot of thought and effort into improving their family.
Where's the gender equality? For me, both husband and wife should have different savings for their Leisure and personal expenses so that there's no room for questioning all the kinds of stuff that they did with their money.
I agree with you that some women have that kind of characteristic (being not thrifty and irresponsible in their expenses because I know someone like that) but have you seen an independent woman who knows everything specifically in handling the finances just like what men can do?
1593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Make Bitcoin Profit - Tell To Arab People - It Is Haram on: October 20, 2023, 04:23:08 AM
Tell all arab people, also here in the forum, that Bitcoin trading is haram. So they will start to sell it and Bitcoin price will be lower. Then you can buy it, and after the time Bitcoin price will be higher again, so you can profit. Grin
As we know in Egypt, Islamic advisory body make the decree, that crypto, also Bitcoin is haram ( prohibited by Islamic law).
Egypt Islamic advisory decree: https://venturesafrica.com/why-is-morocco-walking-back-on-its-crypto-ban/
I have no idea about bitcoin halal or haram really if we invest something for the sake of business if we get it after investment then it is not really haram. If the money we earn by trading in Bitcoin is halal, we work hard and earn money. The profit we get from the money we invest in business is halal for us. But if we get any money without any effort, i.e. if I lend money to someone, if I take any profit on top of that money, it is haraam for me.
Is it prohibited by the Islamic law? I have no idea if having an investment and profit in crypto is halal or haram but one thing is for sure, Arabic people are very practical and wise when it comes to handling finances, even those in the upper and middle class, they still work hard just to provide a good life for their families. I think Arab people are aware of what they are doing, if getting involved in bitcoin trading was haram, they wouldn't have started any crypto activities in the first place. Let's see what will going to happens when they read/visit this thread.
<snip>
Too good to be true talaga yung offer ni Yexel pero dahil nga well known and social media influencer sya, madami agad yung nagtiwala.

1596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 19, 2023, 11:51:03 PM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.
You can play all you want as long as you've set yourself a limitation, especially in a proper way of allocating your funds in crypto. set an allowance for that so you will not end up losing all of it. Also, do not rely on gambling as your source of income just like what others did. Be responsible, do not be impulsive, or greedy, and control your emotions while playing to prevent unhealthy obsession.
1597  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽️ SPORTBETTING ADVICE ⚽️ on: October 19, 2023, 11:06:41 PM
Almost all punters are aware of these rules, but only few of them follow them religiously. Why? Because the majority go with their gut instead of thinking about rules and end up losing their money again and again.

None of this will ever change because humans are inherently greedy leading to these results. This is what makes casinos stay in business if you think about it.
Yup, everyone is aware on what will be the outcome if they didn't follow the rules and if they have no proper time and Financial management in gambling. However, some participants play just because they've heard to other that there's a big chance of winning, partially that's true but still there's a big possibility of losing money as well. Just control their emotions while playing, being greedy tends to lose all your money.
1598  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: October 19, 2023, 10:14:42 PM
The fact is that T&C may be just to difficult to understand, so even if they put a KYC first, then you still may be subject to some conditions for the withdrawal that you may not be be happy with. There best way is to check for reputation and go to sites that only use plain English or plain language in general Terms and Conditions. If you cannot understand something, do not sign to it.
Language shouldn't really be a barrier for someone in understanding the terms and conditions when we can very easily use a translation service to translate that to our native language and then read them, it's not that difficult. Google Translate is the easiest way to do that, one should simply copy and paste every single clause from the terms and conditions and use Google Translate to translate it to our native language and then read them one by one.

What I believe the reality is that people are basically too lazy to read them, they don't want to spend their time reading so many rules and regulations and conditions and they just want to rush into the platform, create their account, and get into gambling right away, and they only feel they should have read them later when they might face an issue.
Yeah, that's right. I think Language is not a problem here since there are a lot of resources that may be used in reading and understanding the terms and conditions. Sometimes I have that kind of mentality that I always skip the long T&C and automatically click the I agree part and that's not a good idea more importantly when monetary is involved.
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 19, 2023, 04:21:52 PM

Gambling at work is the most disastrous thing one can think of doing.

Imagine gambling at work and during working hours and your superiors gets to find out, it doesn't matter whether or not you just got started that day or you have been there, their assumption is that you don't put in time into your work and you also indulge in unethical engagements at duty, the office can even be into gambling for a service, you will loose your job instantly.
Situations like this may lead to termination. This is why people should know and realize that during working hours, focusing on your work tasks would be the best thing to do. Instead of taking the risk of losing the job, might be better to aim to be one of the top-performing employees at work. Any other activity especially gambling will put your job at risk. Aside from that, imagine if you lose in gambling, the salary you earned that day will only go to gambling.
1600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was ripped off on: October 19, 2023, 03:55:49 PM
Too many questions yet OP doesn't seem like to be online again. And again, when it comes to transaction like this, since this is a physical item that needs a thorough check with a mechanic engineer, highly recommended is to do the transaction offline, at least the other person is there when transferring money online.

Some people seem to be victims of those who make blind transactions, and they get to trust someone easily. I believe that was just the OP's mistake. He got an advertisement for a product that someone wants to sell online. He liked the product online without even any doubt, and he quickly got convinced since the plate number of the car was visible.

After all, the plate number can be used to track the car, forgetting the fact that someone can just go anywhere and snap any car they want and paste it online without any proper verification. If the seller is truly the owner, anyone can just get scammed if they are not careful enough. I have seen cases like that mostly on the internet more often.
OP made the mistake of trusting the seller so easily. That leaves him to make a rush decision on buying the car. Maybe after seeing the car in pictures, he got excited and immediately made a reservation for the car. There's a possibility that OP did this kind of transaction for the first time, specifically a car, that's why he sends a down payment without even checking the car physically. When purchasing a car or doing any other transaction, better to check the legitimacy of every information that needs to obtain prior to sending money to another party to avoid getting scammed.
