11701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: November 29, 2015, 11:52:55 PM
Logged into my bittrex account today:

"This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on December 4th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.2 BTC."

MUE volume is really low... not only on bittrex.
How can we increase volume?

Maybe we could increase volume by increasing awareness of MonetaryUnit to those people from inside and outside the crypto world. If we could come up with a way to make MUE more attractive (by offering a small reward by joining) And then we would need solid advertising on TV, on Facebook, etc. You get the picture, right?  Cheesy

Hi guys,

if someone interested, i'm slowly rebuilding my site here https://raspi2miner.wordpress.com/

The previous site raspi2miner.is-great.org ended some days ago.

Use the new one, slowly i'm importing the old stuff and add the new one.

Regards

Nice site mate. Now I would be able to get in the know of how to use my Raspberry Pi 2 as an XMG miner. I've always wanted to overclock it and I could finally do so with your very informative site.  Smiley
11703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: November 29, 2015, 11:38:36 PM
did you enjoyed today's massive pump to 3,8k?

I sure did as I bought Expanse very dirt cheap at $0.007120 per EXP. Now it is worth $0.009309 but I still would like it to go up to $0.42 per EXP as it was before to recoup my losses (from previous EXP investments)  Smiley
11704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hedge Bitcoins against devaluation on: November 29, 2015, 11:36:16 PM
What would the best way to protect my Bitcoin investments against its devaluation or when its market price goes down? I thought about exchanging my BTC to Nubits, but they are not always pegged 100% to the value of fiat. Then there is BITUSD, and Tether but I'm not sure if it would be the safest way to do this. Even if Bitcoin's price goes to the moon, at least I would protect them in case their value goes down.  Grin

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Cheesy

if you are happy to cash out at $360 (todays price).. then cash out 50%..

if bitcoins rises, then 50% left as bitcoin will profit.. if it falls then you can buy more coin using the fiat your holding from cashing out..
.. its just that simple..

if you are trying to find guaranteed predictions of pumps and dumps to sell right at the top and buy right at the bottom.. or even a service to do this for you... goodluck, keep dreaming.

and if your looking for alts to use as a reserve.. find the cheapest nastiest coin there is. thats valued as close to 0.0000001 as possible.. grab as many as you can and hold.. usually converting to xrp/ltc and then looking for alts that are 0.00000001 of an xrp/ltc means you will own billions of an altcoin that cant go any lower, meaning just going to 0.00000002 is doubling your funds, 0.00000003 is trebling your funds, 0.00000004 is quadrupling your funds

Great advice. Thanks for sharing your recommendations, mate. I guess I would just cashout some of my BTC for fiat, and the rest would be stored on a paper wallet as reserve for the future. Probably Bitcoin's value would rise tenfold and thus it would be greater earnings for me. Still, I would like to see a service (more like a wallet) where I could store my BTC and then it locks up their value for protection against devaluation.  Cheesy
11705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: November 29, 2015, 11:27:07 PM
I'm sorry but I couldn't find this anywhere or I overlooked it. I just bought some shares in the DMD cloudmining but how long do the shares last?

forever
but their impact on ur payouts deepens if u reached ROI or not

below 100% ROI they get x5 boost on sharepower

(which basical mean 1000 shares would act like 5000 shares until u reach 100% ROI)

thats what enabled us to reopen DMD CLoudmining and make it attractive for new investors

this help to understand DMD Cloudmining:
https://multipool.bit.diamonds/attachments/Terms_of_use.pdf

Thanks for sharing this guide. I guess I needed a better understanding of cloud mining shares before investing into it. Didn't checked the official site where this was explained. I'll take a look at this guide to start investing.

By the way, how long (estimated) would it take for me to reach ROI? Let's say I start with $20...would it take months or years for ROI? Sorry for asking, I'm just getting to understand how this works.  Smiley

11707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Are Smartchain based cryptos worthy of investment? on: November 29, 2015, 11:07:11 PM
Do you think Smartchain based crypto currencies such as Stellar, Ripple, Bitshares or Ethereum worth the investment? Each one of them have promising technologies and maybe get the opportunity of replacing Bitcoin.

Here is what I think of them:

Ripple - Is centralized, but it is currently # 2 in marketcap and due to its centralization it might bring the attention of banks and/or governments to adopt it as their currency.

Stellar - Looks much like Ripple, so I don't see any real difference other than they claim that they are decentralized and have a better upgraded network than that of Ripple. They changed their currency name from Stellar to Lumen.

Bitshares - Provides a decentralized payment system with Delegated Proof of Stake, the ability to invest in assets pegged to their fiat value, and better TPS (as they claim to be)

Ethereum - Similar to Bitshares with the ability to create Smartchain contracts and execute them with gas or Ether. It is basically a decentralized application platform.

Any thoughts or recommendations on which I should invest into? The way I see it, I think that Ethereum would survive, but I'm not pretty sure. What do you think?  Smiley

It's been a long time since I left my paper wallet filled with Diamonds and never had the chance to return back to it. After some time, I remembered that I had bought a huge amount of DMD, and thus I'm going to place them on my QT wallet to start staking them. Also, I would gladly invest into DMD Cloud mining and would do so as soon as I receive my BTC from miner earnings. One thing that I always admired of Diamonds is that they are scarce/rare and this would definitely make an effect in price increase as the less supply, the more demand.  Cheesy

I'm using also RPi 2 for mining with your modded miner + some extraflag for RPi optimization at 4.73k/hash without overclock and 5,25K/hash with RPi2 overclock @ 1 ghz.

All without heatsink.

Regards

Those are some nice results from mining with a Raspberry Pi 2. I also have one, but I'm not very familiar with overclocking it (as I don't know how to do so on the Pi). Even still, that is a very decent hashrate and sometimes I wonder how XMG mining would be when we merge different RPis as a single system (parallel computing). If this could be achieved on multiple RPis, then it would be a totally awesome XMG mining machine!  Cheesy

11710  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: November 28, 2015, 09:17:19 PM
I wish I could buy a new car using my bitcoin.

You should wish first to get enough bitcoin to buy a new car Cheesy But in case you already have enough coins to buy your desired car, you can check out this site:  www.bitpremier.com

That is a pretty great site. I never thought I could buy luxury stuff, and even a house with Bitcoin. This is really great, just wish I had a lot of money to buy a really cool car.  Cheesy

oh wow.. 4K sat..  30btc market cap..   Roll Eyes

Mate stop fudding.

I'm sorry, but the price has dropped X40 times since last month..  It looks worst than an abandoned shitcoin  Embarrassed

you are spreading FUD. the price isn't 4k sat. the price is 3k sat with a 22 BTC market cap.

GET IT RIGHT!

0.00002238 BTC with a 220 BTC marketcap! (There is a 11,000,000 coin DAO premine)

GET IT RIGHT!

can't wait for premine selling, that will boost the price even more down!

I'm hoping for 500 satoshi dumps.

That is great, mate! Guess you are not the only one waiting for cheaper Expanse after all. As soon as it becomes much cheaper, I would buy a millionth or maybe a billionth EXP to help support the project. I have the sense that something big is coming for EXP before the end of 2015. All there is to do is just to be patient.  Cheesy
11712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HYPER ~ Game Currency ~ ON CNBC ~ Twitch.tv ~ ShapeShift.io ~RPG + More! on: November 28, 2015, 09:01:23 PM
The cheapest available package is 0.02 BTC/month for two wallets. It goes up from there. At this time, that's the equivalent of 157 HYPER for the cheapest, which would require a balance of 3140 to break even (any more than this would be profit at that point).

Thanks.

Anyone interested in seeing if they will add HYPER to their wallet?

I have tried staking my Coin Magi with their wallet, and so far everything works great. There are no issues whatsoever. The addition of Hyper to their wallet would be an excellent idea as this would also serve as a cloud staking wallet for it without the need to wait for Hyper Core wallet to sync on your PC.  Grin

11714  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitcoinblackfriday.info - Do NOT use their website. on: November 27, 2015, 11:36:35 PM
Thanks for your helpful advice. If wouldn't have checked this post out, I would have fallen for the same scam too. I was about to spend some of my BTC on one of the listed sites there but to be on the safe side, I guess I will just hold them for some time.  Grin
11715  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: November 27, 2015, 09:54:58 PM
Well I don't really know what to do.

For me I will just save.

There is a lot of scam lately so yeah.

Browse this thread mate. Posted here many times. Investment is not always investing in an investment firm, company, site or whatever. You can invest in other way like business that you think will bloom in your location. Explore all the sides and not focus on those shit companies.

And always make your own research before investing into anything. Ask yourself: Do I need this? Is it really worth to invest? When investing, always keep this in mind: Never invest what you can't afford to lose. For starters, I'd recommend investing in Bitcoin or Gold as it is a safe investment.  Cheesy
11716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: November 27, 2015, 09:48:35 PM
Sha 256 mining, both cloud and home, is definitely not one of them anymore. With this mining diff jumping so much, after people start turning on their miners due to BTC price increases, it s gonna be hard making anything from mining.

Yes. Mining is not good these days, it was better off at the beginning when there were not too many people into this and the difficulty was very low. Now the only ones that could make profit are those big miners that have mining farms. For an average Joe it is very difficult to profit, especially when the halving comes.  Grin
11717  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: November 27, 2015, 09:25:18 PM
I think with in 15-20 years can be replace.

If that happend I think all the banks will shut down.

I don't think that bitcoins can replace Dollars, as Dollars are widely accepted and most trusted currency and people have more faith in dollars as compared to bitcoins, but yes if the adoption of bitcoins reaches to the peak then anything is possible in the future, but at present I don't think bitcoins can replace any major currency.

Exactly. Bitcoin is just going through a lot of issues right now (block size, TPS, etc) and I think that it still needs to be perfected in order to really replace the Dollar. Still, anything is possible and if Bitcoin ever reaches mainstream use, I'm pretty sure it might replace it. Soon fiat currencies would become obsolete and the new generation of money would be crypto currencies. Just my opinion.  Roll Eyes
11718  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: November 27, 2015, 09:03:03 PM
bitcoin wallet. You will earn more interest in a year from value rising than interest in bank Wink

That is totally correct mate! We can see Bitcoin's price go up everyday faster than you can think of! And maybe this is because the halving date is near and thus Bitcoin is increasing in price and demand. Today has been a good day with BTC being worth at $360 per coin. I have increased my earnings faster than I would have done with my bank account  Grin
11719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: November 27, 2015, 07:35:53 PM
It seems that I am fianlly able to get over my personal stuffs, and to get the magi stuffs on the track in the following periods (estimate to be weeks or maybe months). It was tough and this happened back to February of this year. I won't be too honest to talk about what happened, but you know that is something like a life change. I still have to finalize my stuffs and then a concrete plan about magi.

A rough plan, 1) the first thing I believe to look at that is very urgent is the PoW mining we talked; I might be able to look into the things in the middle of Dec. or during the Christmas: basically summarize the PoW / PoS discussion, a plan as to what I am going to do, and pushing actual works out (in Jan. or most likely Feb.). The progress will depend on my timing in real job. I am not saying I do have the solutions as to what happened, but I do have energies to push out solutions, and believe the coin deserves such efforts; 2) I like and would like to push the magi-pi project; 3) We have to push XMG towards sort of business and make it appear to be a role that it should be. I am not guaranteeing what I will be done; I felt this is the turning point of my own situation and thus the above updates.

Thanks to all for your patience and efforts by far.

Glad you are back Joe and ready to push Magi forward to new heights. It is nice to see new stuff happen in the Magi community. It is always active and very friendly. A Coin Magi wallet for the Raspberry Pi would be something great to have. Happy Thanksgiving by the way!  Cheesy
11720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Virtacoin Core CPU Usage on: November 26, 2015, 09:32:34 PM

The wallet is fully synced and there is no mining in process on my laptop. Virtacoin Core wallet is just idle and minimized into system tray, but it takes up 100% CPU load without doing absolutely nothing. I'm running Windows 10 by the way. The CPU is Intel Core i5-3210M Quad Core @ 2.50GHz  Grin

If you may, try figure out exactly what it is doing while using your full processing capacity. Make sure the mining (in the debug window) is set to false. If your quest for the 100% is not satisfied by the answers that you find, just exit the client until you need to transact using virtacoin.

Thanks for your advice, mate! After a bit of research made in Google, I have finally found the solution. It turns out that the wallet was mining in the background after all. I had to go to the appdata directory (in Windows) and inside the Virtacoin folder, you will find the virtacoin.conf file. Edit it with a text editor and where it says gen=1, replace it with gen=0. Then open the VTA wallet, and there you go. Now it takes only 2% of CPU usage.  Cheesy
